Build Overview
This Oracle Druid build takes the « zero button » concept to its extreme: no active skills, no weapon, and infinite mana. The principle is simple yet devastatingly effective:
Shankgonne Covered Sabatons replace your dodge with an explosive leap (
Black Powder Blitz) that automatically triggers devastating lightning through
Crackling Palm (gloves
Thunderfist) and
Lightning Bolt (amulet
Choir of the Storm).
Every leap unleashes a true lightning storm.
Black Powder Blitz counts as an attack thanks to the
Stomping Ground support, which triggers
Crackling Palm on landing.
Lightning Bolt fires both on takeoff and on landing, doubling the damage sources. The primary scaling comes from rage via the
Mystical Rage node, which provides a double dip by boosting both spell damage and attack damage.
The result is a build capable of easily clearing T16 maps with 6 modifiers, while maintaining excellent survivability through
Mind Over Matter combined with infinite mana via
Mana Remnants.
Build Strengths
- Zero button gameplay: No active skills required — just leap to trigger the entire damage chain. Perfect for players who prefer a relaxed playstyle.
- Excellent T16 clear speed: The build clears T16 6-mod maps with ease thanks to AoE lightning explosions on every leap.
- Solid survivability:
Mind Over Matter absorbs damage to mana, and since the build uses zero mana, the entire mana pool acts as an additional defensive shield. Arctic Destruction from the armor adds a passive layer of protection. - Massive rage scaling:
Mystical Rage grants 2% spell damage per rage stack while also boosting attack damage. At 55 stacks, that’s 110% bonus spell damage. - Viable budget version: Level 19 items are significantly cheaper than level 20 for minimal damage loss. Crown of the Eyes replaces
The Vertex at a fraction of the cost.
Build Weaknesses
- Expensive key items at level 20:
Thunderfist level 20 costs around 600 divines,
Choir of the Storm level 20 around 200, and
The Vertex 200 divines. The full BiS setup runs 1200+ divines. - Leap cooldown dependent: The build relies entirely on
Black Powder Blitz‘s cooldown (1.3s optimized). Without sufficient CDR, gameplay can feel slow. - Vulnerable to one-shots: Despite the defensive layers, the build can be killed instantly by certain Boss mechanics, especially without
Headhunter.
Gem Setup by Stage
This build offers 1 progression stage from leveling to the final build. Select a stage to view the corresponding gem setup.
Default
6 skills • 15 gemmesRecommended Equipment
- Gloves — Thunderfist: The core item of the build. Grants
Crackling Palm, which strikes nearby enemies with lightning on unarmed attacks. Aim for level 20 for an extra support gem socket, but level 19 works great as a budget option. - Amulet — Choir of the Storm: Grants
Lightning Bolt, which triggers on critical strikes. Thanks to Oracle Druid and
Forced Outcome, crits are unavoidable — and so are the lightning strikes. The
Authority anoint provides AoE and CDR. - Boots — Shankgonne Covered Sabatons: Replaces dodge with
Black Powder Blitz, an explosive leap. This is the build’s core engine — every leap triggers
Crackling Palm and
Lightning Bolt. - Helmet — The Vertex: +4 gem levels for a massive damage boost. Budget alternative: Crown of the Eyes, which applies spell damage increases to attacks — nearly identical damage on
Crackling Palm. - Belt — Headhunter: Perfect for mapping thanks to fast clear. Alternative:
Darkness Enthroned with jewels for maximum rage and CDR. - Focus (Off-hand): Look for spell levels, spell damage, and lightning damage. Socket Owl Idols for 10% CDR each (up to 30% with 3 sockets). Budget alternative:
Crest of Ardura for a large CDR chunk. - Body Armour: Prioritize maximum energy shield and Spirit. Fill your resistances here.
- Rings: Focus on % increased lightning damage first, then flat added attack damage and CDR as suffixes.
Gameplay Tips
- Switch to « Click to Move »: Troy Tesko emphasizes this — the build plays much better with mouse click movement than WASD. It allows you to redirect the leap more easily to hit the same target twice (on takeoff and landing).
- Let your rage stack up: Damage increases significantly with rage stacks via
Eternal Rage. Do not judge the build’s damage without full rage. - Pick up Mana Remnants: They activate Khatal’s Empowerment (up to 8 stacks = 40% CDR) and fuel the defense via
Mind Over Matter. Mana can exceed its maximum value through overstacking. - Prioritize CDR: More cooldown reduction means more leaps means more damage. It is the most impactful stat in the build after the core items.
- Budget version: Use level 19 items instead of 20, Crown of the Eyes instead of
The Vertex, and
Crest of Ardura instead of a Focus. The cost drops from 1200+ divines to a few hundred.
The Trigger Chain: How the Build Works
The heart of the build relies on an automatic three-layer trigger chain.
Black Powder Blitz (from
Shankgonne boots) replaces dodge with a leap. Thanks to the
Stomping Ground support, this leap counts as an attack — without this support,
Crackling Palm does not trigger at all.
Each leap activates three damage sources simultaneously.
Crackling Palm (from
Thunderfist gloves) strikes all nearby enemies with lightning on landing.
Lightning Bolt (from
Choir of the Storm amulet) fires on critical strikes — and thanks to
Forced Outcome from the Oracle Ascendancy, every hit is inevitably a critical strike.
Lightning Bolt has the advantage of triggering both on takeoff AND on landing, doubling its contribution per leap.
Arctic Destruction from the armor adds a fourth damage source: when the character is hit, the armor deals cold damage that can crit, which triggers
Lightning Bolt again. Even while frozen or stunned, the build continues clearing monsters around it.
Scaling via Mystical Rage: The Double Dip
Mystical Rage is the passive node that turns this build into a damage machine. Each rage stack grants 2% increased spell damage. At 55 rage stacks, that is 110% bonus spell damage — an absolutely massive boost.
But the scaling does not stop there. Rage also inherently grants increased attack damage. Since
Crackling Palm scales from unarmed attack damage, every rage stack boosts
Crackling Palm‘s damage in two distinct ways — this is the famous « double dip » mentioned by Troy Tesko.
Eternal Rage is the spirit gem that generates and sustains rage stacks, and Dialla’s Whim supports it with +1 gem levels.
Defense: Mind Over Matter and Infinite Mana
The build’s defense relies on an elegant interaction.
Mind Over Matter causes all incoming damage to be absorbed by mana before life. Normally, this means your mana drains rapidly. But this build uses zero mana for its skills — the entire mana pool serves exclusively as a defensive shield.
Mana Remnants also allows mana to exceed its maximum (overstacking). With 750 base mana climbing to over 1100 in combat, combined with 4200 energy shield and 1200 life, the character has significant defensive layers. Khatal’s Empowerment stacks obtained through
Mana Remnants add up to 40% CDR, further accelerating the leap rhythm.
Passive Tree and Key Jewels
The Oracle Druid Ascendancy is the reason this build exists. The first four points lead to
Forced Outcome, which guarantees inevitable critical strikes — essential for permanently activating
Choir of the Storm. The final four points unlock Path Unseen and
Entwined Realities to access powerful keystones.
Wild Surge Incantation is taken not for its direct effect but to unlock Oracle nodes within its radius:
Profane Commander (+4% Spirit),
Intense Flames (damage against burning enemies —
Black Powder Blitz always ignites) and
Explosive Impact (AoE + explosions).
Mind Over Matter serves as the defensive keystone, and
Stormcharged within its radius grants 40% elemental damage on critical strike.
For jewels, the Megalomaniac with
Distracting Presence provides 10% CDR.
Heart of the Well adds bonus fire and lightning damage. Finally, a
Heroic Tragedy with Song Worthy Deeds on Verona’s line grants 1% energy shield per two points of Strength, offering an excellent defensive boost.
Budget and Alternatives
The build is playable at different investment levels. The premium version with all level 20 items costs around 1200-1500 divines, but the difference between level 19 and 20 is relatively small:
Crackling Palm goes from 12.5k to 12.6k damage — a marginal increase.
Crown of the Eyes is a near-equivalent alternative to
The Vertex for
Crackling Palm, with minimal damage loss on
Lightning Bolt.
Crest of Ardura effectively replaces an expensive Focus by providing a large CDR chunk.
Darkness Enthroned with rage/CDR jewels replaces
Headhunter for mapping. In the budget version, the build runs around 500 divines and remains fully viable for T16 content.
