ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM BARBARE
Build Overview
This Barbarian build centered on
Call of the Ancients embodies the « Minion Barb » archetype of Season 13: most of the damage is delegated to the three legendary summons (Korlic, Madawc, Talic) while you stack offensive buffs through the triple shout combo. The result is an extremely resilient build, capable of tearing through Pit Tier 100 in speedfarm mode, while keeping a comfortable mobility window thanks to
Leap.
The mechanical identity rests on three pillars. First, the triple shout (
War Cry +
Rallying Cry +
Challenging Shout) which maintains a wall of offensive and defensive buffs permanently — each at rank 15/15 from Midgame onward. Second,
Call of the Ancients at rank 15/15 with the
The Chosen upgrade, which turns the Ancients into auto-piloted damage machines. Finally, the Banished Lord's Talisman amulet that
Rends the shout cooldown to virtually zero as long as Fury stays high.
The big new twist of this « New Overpower » iteration: the build completely bypasses
Aspect of Limitless Rage (disabled mid-season) by going through Greater Affix Crit Damage stacked on the rings and amulet. The progression follows a natural Starter → Midgame → Endgame curve with an aspect and Paragon glyph swap at each tier — detailed below.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Pit Tier 100 speedfarm without perfect glyph optimization
- Autopilot gameplay thanks to the Ancients who charge and tank
- Permanent triple shout that secures survival and damage in dense packs
- Very few inputs required — ideal for long grind sessions
- Excellent resilience thanks to
Arreat's Bearing and the fortify from
Rallying Cry
Cons
- Boss tanked less quickly than a dedicated single-target build
- Reliant on shout rotation — a missed cycle costs dearly in high Pit
- Requires Banished Lord's Talisman + Crown of Lucion to truly take off
- Less flashy rotation than a Whirlwind or Rend build
Recommended Gear
Loot Table
Helm — Crown of Lucion → Heir of Perdition
At Midgame, Crown of Lucion is slotted for its huge Resource Max bonus — Fury becomes nearly infinite, which keeps shouts in constant uptime and frees up the rotation. The Endgame swap to
Heir of Perdition is one of the cleanest power spikes in the build: the mythic delivers the multiplicative damage layer needed to bypass
Aspect of Limitless Rage. Until the mythic drops, keep Crown of Lucion without hesitation.
Chest — Runic Mail with Aspect of Heavenly Strength
The chest rolls a Runic Mail with
Aspect of Heavenly Strength from Midgame onward, which multiplies the effect of
Rallying Cry. This slot is rarely a pure DPS source — it primarily over-vitamins defense via the shout's fortify.
Gloves — Aspect of Anticipation then Crushing Aspect
Gloves evolve from Aspect of Anticipation in Starter (proc-based, ideal during leveling) to Crushing Aspect in Midgame/Endgame, which scales perfectly with triple-greater Crit Damage Greater Affixes. This is the main offensive stack slot.
Pants — Arreat's Bearing
The unique
Arreat's Bearing is non-negotiable as soon as it drops: it conditions the entire defense of the build with its huge greater armor and life bonus. Without it, you stay on Runic Leggings with Aspect of Coagulation — much less efficient.
Boots — Aspect of Anger Management
Runic Cleats carry
Aspect of Anger Management across all three variants. This is the cooldown reduction aspect that keeps the shout rotation perfectly fluid — the boots slot is locked, do not swap it.
Amulet — Banished Lord's Talisman
The unique Banished Lord's Talisman is the real brain of the build: it converts Fury into shout cooldown reduction. Combined with Crown of Lucion, the result is near-permanent uptime on the triple shout. This is the priority farm item right after
Arreat's Bearing.
Rings — Soulwatch Hoop then Ring of Starless Skies
The two Runic Rings
Soulwatch Hoop are slotted with
Bold Chieftain's Aspect and
Aspect of Vocalized Empowerment in Starter, then progressively swapped toward Crushing Aspect or Vanquishing Aspect in Midgame. The Endgame target is
Ring of Starless Skies, the mythic ring that adds the attack speed essential to fully exploit the Ancients.
Horadric Seal S13
The talisman rests on the Bul-Kathos' Pride set (4 set charms: Fer / Mlor / Linta / Beru) complemented by the unique Chainscourged Mail charm. The central seal is a legendary Horadric Seal that adds an extra charm slot — that's what allows reaching 5/5 on the set while keeping the unique. The 5/5 Bul-Kathos' Pride set bonus directly amplifies the effect of shouts, which aligns perfectly with the build's philosophy.
Build Variants
The build comes in three main variants matching the natural progression of a Season 13 character. The fourth Maxroll variant (« Temporarily Disabled ») is to be ignored — it only serves to archive the old setup with
Aspect of Limitless Rage before its nerf.
Starter Variant (lvl 1-60). The skill bar revolves around
Whirlwind +
Lunging Strike for Fury generation, complemented by the three shouts and the ultimate
Call of the Ancients. No unique required — the six legendary aspects are enough to start the engine. This is when you take advantage of
Battle-Mad Aspect to densify the attack rhythm.
Midgame Variant (lvl 60-200). The major step consists of integrating Crown of Lucion,
Arreat's Bearing and Banished Lord's Talisman.
Whirlwind and
Lunging Strike disappear in favor of
Leap (mobility, Fury, pull) and
Iron Skin (defensive layer). This is where the rotation becomes « shouts perma-uptime + Ancients on loop ».
Endgame New Overpower Variant. Final setup integrating
Heir of Perdition and
Ring of Starless Skies. The build no longer needs
Aspect of Limitless Rage thanks to triple-greater Crit Damage Greater Affixes stacked on rings and gloves. The
Leap upgrades shift (Mosh + Arsenal Bonus + Pull) to amplify damage sources during the jump.
Gameplay Tips
The rotation is intentionally simple, but it requires absolute discipline on the shout order to maintain maximum uptime. The typical sequence at the start of a pack or Pit room:
1. Pre-cast the three shouts (
Challenging Shout →
Rallying Cry →
War Cry) before engagement. Buffs are active before enemies are in range.
2. Invoke
Call of the Ancients as soon as the pack is visible. The Ancients charge automatically, trigger AoE, and apply The Chosen + Damage Bonus upgrade debuffs.
3.
Leap into the middle of the pack to take advantage of the AoE + Pull (Endgame) or Crowd Control (Midgame). The jump also serves to reposition if the room is wide.
4. Re-cycle shouts as soon as cooldown is up. Banished Lord's Talisman + Crown of Lucion guarantee the window is very short. If you miss a cycle, you lose 30% of the build's damage.
5. For bosses, the idea is to stack the Ancients at the start of the fight (~12s uptime) and use that window to maximize
Overpower hits. Shouts trigger in parallel to maintain the damage buff.
Pit mobility: between rooms, abuse
Leap to traverse quickly. The jump range covers an entire room — this mobility is what transforms the build into a true speedfarm.
Talent Tree
Mercenary
The recommended main mercenary is Subo, the drunken hunter. His role is offensive and perfectly complements the build's philosophy: maximize damage while
Call of the Ancients clears packs. Subo provides constant ranged support and crowd control, freeing the Barbarian to focus on the shout rotation and repositioning with
Leap.
For reinforcement, Aldkin is mobilized via
Field of Languish, which amplifies the debuff on enemies hit by the Ancients' whirling. The Subo + Aldkin combo remains one of the strongest of the season for a Pit-speedfarm-oriented Barbarian, because it guarantees a steady flow of offensive buffs without requiring micro attention.
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon progression follows four tiers, each calibrated on the accessible glyph level (1, 50, 100, 150). The key boards stay constant:
Warbringer,
Blood Rage,
Carnage and
Flawless Technique. What changes is the opening order and the central glyph of each board.
Level 1 — Board Rush. Prioritize boards in the order Start → Warbringer → Blood Rage → Carnage → Flawless Technique. Glyphs
Might,
Exploit,
Challenger and
Marshal are placed at rank 1 — the goal is to unlock rare nodes first, not to level glyphs.
Level 50 — Midgame Swap. First major reoptimization. The Start glyph swaps to
Dominate which scales with the shouts' crowd control.
Crusher replaces Challenger on Blood Rage, and
Wrath arrives on Flawless Technique to prime the Greater Affixes.
Level 100 — Board Optimization. Priority inversion: Flawless Technique now goes before Carnage to exploit
Exploit at 100/100 as fast as possible. All glyphs are at 100, the build reaches its « clean » scaling tier.
Level 150 — All Points. Final setup, all glyphs at 150/100 (overcap). At this stage, the build effectively caps the critical damage available via paragon, and the only remaining limiting factor is Greater Affixes on gear pieces.
