ENDGAME | PIT PUSH WARLOCK
Build Overview
The Hell Fracture Warlock Abyss variant is presented by @NickTew as one of the most powerful builds of Season 13. The core mechanic relies on the synergy between the Abyssal Fragment and hex charge stacking: the fragment accumulates up to 4 charges, then triggers an explosion that replays 50% of the damage dealt over the last 4 seconds. Alongside this, the Ritualist Shard multiplies occult skill damage for each active Overpower stack — and with a specific talent tree node, 4 or more charges trigger an additional hex strike on each activation.
The Hemat Stone combined with Command Fallen generates 16 Overpower stacks. The
Banished Lord's Talisman converts those stacks into 192% bonus damage (12% per stack). The Aspect of Calamity provides 20% Critical Strike Chance per hex stack, instantly hitting the 80% cap. This combo delivers massive Boss damage in just a few seconds.
The Abyss variant is recommended over the Hellfire variant because the Abyssal Fragment provides superior Boss damage output. For faster farming, an alternative setup swapping the amulet is also available.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Absolutely insane Boss damage, among the highest of Season 13
- 50% echo mechanic — the last 4 seconds of damage are replayed
- 192% damage via the
Banished Lord's Talisman with 16 Overpower stacks - 80% Critical Strike cap reached instantly thanks to the Aspect of Calamity
- 5-piece demon set that summons automatically and applies Vulnerable
- High resistance and damage reduction from
Tyrael's Might
Cons
- Requires several Mythic items, making a full BiS setup expensive
- Precise rotation required to maximize stacks before releasing the echo
Tyrael's Might can be replaced by other pieces if missing
Footfalls of the Waning World require a specific affix
Recommended Gear
Loot Table
All priority pieces are detailed below. Mythic items form the backbone of the build and cannot be replaced for optimal endgame performance; Uniques provide essential mechanics.
Helm — Heir of Perdition
Essential Mythic item. It is recommended to craft it with Maximum Life as the top priority. This piece defines the build's damage ceiling.
Chest — Tyrael's Might
Provides massive resistances and substantial damage reduction. If you do not yet own this Mythic, you can use a regular chest with the Aspect of Coagulation in its place while farming for it.
Boots — Footfalls of the Waning World
These Unique boots unlock Nether Step on your skill bar. They are only viable if you have the maximum number of Evade charges, or if you have the affix that reduces Evade cooldown on hit — otherwise their use is not recommended.
Amulet — Banished Lord's Talisman
The build's centerpiece: it grants 12% bonus damage per Overpower stack, for a total of 192% with 16 stacks. The affix to target through tempering is "damage per Overpower stack" on gloves and ring. In fast-farm mode, this amulet can be swapped for a rampage/leap amulet.
Alternative Amulet — Hemat Stone
The Hemat Stone multiplies the Overpower stacks generated by Command Fallen, reaching 16 stacks. These two amulets cannot be worn simultaneously — the
Banished Lord's Talisman is the primary amulet for endgame, but the Hemat Stone is listed on the skill bar as the stack generation mechanism.
Weapon — Spine of Tathamet
This Unique weapon generates additional Hell Fracture pools on the 3rd cast, dealing free damage with no extra effort. It is not mandatory but represents a meaningful damage gain.
Ring — Ring of Starless Skies
A Mythic ring that provides additional Critical Strike Chance, complementing the 80% cap already reached through the Aspect of Calamity.
Recommended Aspects
For the remaining slots, priority aspects are: the Aspect of Calamity (20% Critical Strike Chance per hex stack), the Aspect of Coagulation (chest if without Tyrael's), the
Accelerating Aspect, the
Aspect of Heavenly Strength, the
Aspect of Rallying Reversal, the
Juggernaut's Aspect, the
Edgemaster's Aspect, the Aspect of Peril, the Crushing Aspect, the
Aspect of Might and the
Conceited Aspect.
Priority Affixes and Tempering
The stats to look for on your gear are: Critical Strike Damage multiplier, Vulnerable Damage multiplier, Shadow Damage multiplier, and Willpower. For tempering, target "damage per Overpower stack" on gloves and ring, "Critical Strike Chance" on weapons, and "Maximum Life" on the amulet.
Horadric Seal S13
Gameplay Tips
The build's skill bar consists of six slots, each driven by precise mechanics. The rotation order is critical to maximizing stacks before triggering the Abyssal Fragment echo.
Skill Bar and Rotation
- Hell Fracture — Primary skill. It generates hexes and forms the foundation of all the build's damage. The
Spine of Tathamet creates additional pools on the 3rd cast. - Command Fallen — Generates Overpower stacks via the Hemat Stone. Two variants exist: Flesh Shield (to kill without worrying) or Bombardment (NickTew's personal choice for more damage). The 5-piece demon set summons automatically when you trigger the corresponding Soul Fragment, and those demons apply Vulnerable to targets.
- Dark Prison — Kept active permanently through the Pred runeword. It immobilizes enemies, making positioning and survival much easier.
- Nether Step — Unlocked by
Footfalls of the Waning World. Essential mobility for the build. - Sigil of Summons — Supports demon summoning and resource generation.
- Apocalypse — Optional but highly recommended. The Annihilation node in the talent tree doubles Apocalypse damage, making it a free damage multiplier with a manageable cooldown.
Alternative Variant — Umbral Chains
It is possible to include Umbral Chains in the build by swapping only the main weapon. This variant requires no other gear changes.
Runes
The build uses the Cur + Q runeword to maintain a permanent shield through constant Barrier generation. The Pred runeword ensures automatic uptime of Dark Prison.
Talent Tree
Mercenary S13
The recommended mercenary is Raheir, with his
Ground Slam ability. He provides bonus damage reduction and armor that improve endgame survivability. NickTew notes that the gameplay shown in the video uses Varyana, but Raheir remains the optimal choice for this build thanks to his defensive bonuses.
Paragon and Glyphs
The build's Paragon tree revolves around four main boards, optimized to maximize damage and stack generation.
Recommended Paragon Boards
- Fathomless — Starting board. Optimized for hex generation and base damage.
- Unbound — Provides complementary offensive bonuses at the build's core.
- Chaos — Amplifies occult skill and Abyss damage.
- Dominion — Primary endgame board with the full Mythic set. If you do not yet have the Mythic seal, it can be replaced with the Ritualism board.
Glyphs
Wrath — Multiplies damage by exploiting accumulated Overpower stacks.
Destruction — Boosts Critical Strike Damage.- Empowered — General offensive bonuses on the Warlock's active skills.
- Greater Hex — Specific to the build's hex loop, it amplifies the effectiveness of hex stacks.
