Build Overview
The
Twister Oracle is a Druid build exploiting the Oracle ascendancy to achieve 100% critical strike chance, enabling massive amounts of
Lightning Strike to proc via
Cast on Critical. This hybrid attack/spell build combines
Twister snapshotting with monstrous spell damage stacking thanks to Crown of the Eyes and
Threaded Light.
The core mechanic relies on a strategic Weapon Swap: weapon set 1 is dedicated to pure attack speed for
Whirling Slash, while set 2 concentrates physical and projectile damage. Since
Twister takes a snapshot of your stats at cast time, it retains all damage bonuses from set 2 even after swapping weapons. This mechanic, combined with spirit stacking (400+ spirit) and the
Threaded Light focus granting 15% spell damage per 10 spirit, generates over 600% increased spell damage.
On top of that,
Lightning Strike triggered by
Cast on Critical benefits from lightning infusions created by
Siphon Elements, granting a 200% more damage multiplier (a x3 coefficient). The result is a build capable of one-shotting pinnacle Bosses, clearing maps at insane speed, and lagging the server with the sheer number of projectiles generated.
Build Strengths
- Astronomical damage: One-shotting virtually all pinnacle Bosses thanks to
Twister snapshotting and double-dipping spell damage via Crown of the Eyes - Exceptional clear speed: Ultra-fast
Whirling Slash combined with Twisters and
Lightning Strike via
Cast on Critical covers an entire screen instantly - Extremely fun gameplay: The spin-to-win loop with
Whirling Slash,
Barrage then
Twister is fluid and satisfying, with impressive visual explosions - Tanky and resilient: Energy shield via spirit stacking,
Endurance charges converted to frenzy charges, and Olroth’s provide solid defenses - Versatile: Option to swap
Lightning Strike for
Comet (single target) or
Frostbolt (clear), and to adapt the setup to different content (maps, bossing, Arbiter)
Build Weaknesses
- High cost at endgame: Crown of the Eyes with spirit corruption, Grand Spectrum jewels, and Against the Darkness with spirit + gain as cold are expensive items
- Weapon swap mechanic: The timing of the weapon swap between set 1 (speed) and set 2 (damage) requires a learning curve to be effective, especially in bossing where you need to stay in set 2 longer
- Constraining spirit stacking: Without enough spirit, you have to sacrifice persistent buffs (Mysticism, Cannibalism,
Herald of Thunder,
Trinity), which significantly reduces damage - Difficult Arbiter: Damage reduction at the start of the fight makes this Boss more challenging — you need to use the freeze technique with
Spear Throw and Snee Equo to neutralize it

High Budget
12 skills • 53 gemsMedium Budget
12 skills • 52 gemsRecommended Equipment
This build’s equipment revolves around spirit stacking and synergy with Crown of the Eyes. Here are the essential pieces:
- Helmet: Crown of the Eyes is the most important item in the build. It converts spell damage into attack damage, allowing spell damage to double-dip on
Lightning Arc AND
Twister. A +spirit corruption (ideally 30, but 28-29 remains affordable) is essential. - Amulet: Spirit as the absolute priority, then +3 to projectile skill gems to boost
Lightning Arc and
Twister simultaneously. The recommended anointment is
Infusion of Power to generate power charges (converted to
Endurance then frenzy). - Body Armour: Spirit as the priority, then maximum energy shield and resistances. The author plays with Chaos Resistance + Max Life, but
Chaos Inoculation is also viable (easier to gear, but requires life regeneration somewhere to survive
Berserk). - Rings: Two Unset Rings are mandatory to socket the maximum number of gems. Life and mana leech is imperative on at least one ring. The rest can be flat damage or item rarity depending on your preferences.
- Boots: Maximum energy shield. Movement speed is optional since
Whirling Slash serves as the traversal skill. - Belt: Head Hunter for mapping (with 1-2 resistance corruptions), or
Soul Tether to play with a rarity bot. With Head Hunter, use Ascentia Sanguis for energy shield life and mana leech — corrupt or buy one with extra frenzy charges. - Weapon Set 1: Attack speed only. Everything else is irrelevant.
- Weapon Set 2: Maximum physical damage, then projectile skill ranks and critical strike chance. This is the most expensive piece, but even an average weapon is sufficient thanks to the massive spell damage from
Threaded Light.
Gameplay Tips
- Basic rotation:
Whirling Slash to traverse and maintain the whirl buff → Pop
Barrage → Cast
Twister → Repeat. It’s simple, fluid, and devastating. - Bossing (outside Arbiter): Make sure your rage is maxed, spam at least 3
Whirling Slash to generate ground effects, place Sniper’s Mark on the target, use
Barrage then
Twister. Most Bosses die in a single cycle. - Arbiter technique: Use
Spear Throw with Snee Equo to freeze the Boss before it performs its mechanics. Once frozen, you benefit from Bite’s
Vengeance bonus (100% gain as cold damage), allowing you to kill it easily. - Weapon swap: In maps, the swap is quick (set 2 →
Twister → back to set 1). In bossing, stay longer in set 2 so your
Lightning Arc via
Cast on Critical benefit from maximum damage. Note: the Archon buff is lost on weapon swap. - Insufficient spirit: If you’re lacking spirit, remove Mysticism and Cannibalism from
Eternal Rage, place
Eternal Rage only in set 1, and
Berserk only in set 2.
Herald of Thunder can also be removed without too much clear loss.
Key interactions and damage double-dip
The core of this build relies on a spell damage double-dip made possible by Crown of the Eyes. Normally, spell damage only affects spells. But with Crown of the Eyes, spell damage also boosts attack damage. Since
Twister is an attack skill AND
Lightning Arc is a spell triggered by
Cast on Critical, stacking spell damage increases both simultaneously.
The main source of spell damage comes from the
Threaded Light focus, which grants 15% spell damage per 10 spirit. With over 400 spirit, this represents more than 600% increased spell damage — almost entirely solving the increased damage bucket on its own.
The passive node
Mystical Rage (available on a Megalomaniac or via anointment) adds 100% spell damage through rage stacking, and an additional 200% under the effect of
Berserk. This single node alone can provide up to 200% additional spell damage.
Weapon Swap mechanics and snapshotting
Twister has a unique property: it takes a « snapshot » of all your stats at the moment of casting. This means that if you cast
Twister in weapon set 2 (with all the damage), then immediately switch back to set 1 (pure attack speed), your twisters retain set 2’s damage for their entire duration.
In maps, the cycle is quick: set 2,
Barrage +
Twister, back to set 1,
Whirling Slash to traverse. For harder content, it’s better to stay in set 2 longer so the
Lightning Arc triggered by
Cast on Critical also benefit from maximum damage. Note however: the Archon buff (obtained via the passive tree) is lost on weapon swap, so it’s advantageous to stay in set 2 as long as possible during bossing.
Charge system and Resonance
The build uses an elaborate charge system centered around the
Resonance keystone. The chain works as follows: Armour Break III generates
Endurance charges when
Twister hits enemies.
Resonance then converts those
Endurance charges into frenzy charges, which are consumed by
Barrage to increase the number of repeats.
In parallel,
Charge Regulation grants critical strike, energy shield, and attack speed bonuses based on your active charges.
Infusion of Power (via amulet anointment) generates power charges, which are also transformed by the conversion chain. The result is a self-sustaining cycle where all charges are maintained permanently during mapping.
For budget players, the
Breath of the Mountains and Valico’s Roar charms allow charge generation through the passive node
Catalysis, which converts a portion of physical damage taken into cold and lightning damage, consistently triggering the charm effects.
Optimal Flasks and Charms
The flask choices reflect the build’s defensive philosophy. Olroth’s is used for a large additional layer of defense — this is actually the main reason not to play
Chaos Inoculation. Lavianga’s (mana flask) makes
Rend
Whirling Slash spammable without worrying about mana regeneration. Valico’s Roar triggers automatically thanks to the passive node
Catalysis.
For stun protection,
For Utopia is used, and Right of Passage provides an additional speed bonus. On the charm side,
Breath of the Mountains (budget) can replace some expensive gems by consistently providing power charges.
Budget version and progression
For a more accessible version of the build, here are the recommended adjustments. First, remove Mysticism and Cannibalism from your
Eternal Rage setup. Place
Eternal Rage only in Weapon Set 1 if you’re lacking spirit.
Berserk should be only in set 2, where you need it for damage.
Charge Regulation and
Siphon Elements should remain in both weapon sets.
Herald of Thunder is optional: you can remove it entirely if you’re lacking spirit since the build already has excellent AoE.
Trinity can be replaced by
Elemental Conflux, which is particularly effective in high-juice temples.
For jewels, if you can’t afford Grand Spectrum, simply use standard damage jewels. Against the Darkness with spirit + gain as cold is the most impactful upgrade — start by looking for one with spirit only if the combo is too expensive. Rigold’s
Ferocity is also a luxury: replace it with any support gem offering attack speed if needed.
