Wouks, from the Deadlock Academy channel, just published his Deadlock tier list for April 2026. After dozens of hours of gameplay and four major patches in four weeks, he delivers his full verdict on the current meta. We took a close look and break it all down for you here.

What stands out in this Deadlock tier list is the sheer scale of the changes. Celeste gets gutted by the April 11 patch. Dynamo remains broken. And a few overlooked heroes climb much higher than expected. Here is what we will break down in detail.
The April 11, 2026 patch: a more balanced meta
Four major patches in four weeks. That is the pace Valve has maintained since late March. The result is clear: the Deadlock meta is today the most balanced the game has ever seen. The major recurring issues have been fixed one by one. Heroes that were too strong have been brought back in line, and weaker ones have received some love.
The late March 2026 patch had already laid the groundwork. The April 11 patch completed the work on several key heroes. Celeste and Brutus are the most striking examples. But overall, it is good news for the entire roster.
Disparities remain. Some heroes are still too strong, others underrated. But the gaps have clearly narrowed. If you are just starting out, this is a good time to explore the basics of Deadlock and find your hero.
Deadlock tier list S+: the broken heroes (Lady Geist, Dynamo, Ivy)
Three heroes clearly stand apart from the rest. Wouks places them in S+, meaning the « broken » category. These are priority picks in ranked if you want to win games.

Lady Geist is the best bruiser in the game right now. Her tank drain build makes her nearly unkillable in combat. Her ultimate secures kills and controls split push situations better than any other hero. Playing against her is tough. There is not much you can do without the right counter-pick.
Dynamo holds the top spot among initiators. A single well-placed ult can flip an entire game. His spirit damage is enormous. His wave forces the opposing team to play differently from start to finish. Wouks believes his gun and wave stats are too high and that a reduction to his wave’s spirit damage or airtime would be needed to rebalance the character.
Ivy establishes herself as the best support platform in the game. Her passive link constantly heals her team. Her statue provides CC that combos well with many other kits. When she grabs with her ultimate, the combos are devastating. She is a versatile pick, difficult to counter in team fights.
Tier S: the dominant forces of the Deadlock tier list
Six heroes make up Wouks’ Tier S: Celeste, Mo & Krill, Haze, Mirage and Graves. All of them can make a real difference in the right hands.
Celeste drops one spot after the April 11 patch. Before that patch, she was the best spirit carry in the game. The most mobile character, a devastating ultimate, exceptional sustain through her movement abilities, and a silencing shield. Wouks keeps her in S but is watching how she performs over the coming days with the changes applied.
Graves makes his comeback thanks to recent patches that boosted his spirit viability. Ulti spam in lane has become a reality: a free push every 60 seconds is difficult for the opposing team to deal with.
Mo & Krill are the best wrestling character in the meta. With his ultimate, he can play in a 5v6 and secure a free kill. Nearly indestructible and capable of disarming an entire team in a team fight.
Mirage received a major rework. His scarabs now drain enemies’ health in addition to reducing their overall damage. Combined with his marks and the rest of his kit, he is one of the best heroes in the game for players with good aim. A carry that is clearly rising in power in this meta.

Haze remains an excellent spirit carry despite the nerfs from recent patches. Very strong in lane, very strong in mid-game. In late game, her silencing ultimate and her disengage — among the best in the game — keep her useful until the very end. If you enjoy independent carries, she is still a very strong pick.
Tier A: solid picks with high impact in the Deadlock tier list
Tier A is stacked this season. It includes Apollo, Lash, Shiv, Pocket, Paradox, Drifter, Yamato, Vindicta, Warden and Sinclair. Solid, effective heroes that can swing a game.
Sinclair is the one Wouks highlights most in this tier. For him, the character is clearly underrated. His bunny can turn a team fight around. He can steal enemy ultimates, giving him rare versatility. He will shine even more once the pick and ban system is integrated into matchmaking.
Apollo terrorizes the early game and the first 15 minutes. His impact is significant in the current meta. He remains strong in late game and his survivability is impressive. Wouks nearly places him in S.
Lash loses a spot with the April 11 patch. His ultimate changes from a sphere to a cone, which is a notable nerf to its range. Compensatory adjustments were made to other parts of his kit. Wouks would have placed him in S before this patch. Today he lands in A, but it is worth watching.
Shiv becomes more accessible thanks to a major buff on his knives. Dot kills are now easier to secure without dispel magic. He excels in close-range combat and stays very tanky over time.
Pocket suffered from the Spirit Nooker nerf a few weeks ago, but his ultimate now removes all incoming hits. Viable, still in the top 3 best 1v1 heroes in the game.
Paradox benefits from the map rework which slightly buffed her. Her escape remains too permissive. Good in lane, good in team fights, versatile. Drifter is well balanced right now: half assassin, half bruiser — Valve seems to have found the right equilibrium for him. Yamato keeps her spot as a solid bruiser with sustain and the ability to dive into the enemy backline or chase down fleeing targets.
Vindicta has interesting potential in certain compositions if she manages to snowball. Her ultimate gains between 6 and 10% gun damage per kill. Warden is well balanced, a decent and effective gun carry. For Wouks, he represents the standard all gun carries should aim for. If you want to compare progression levels to find out which hero suits you, he is a solid reference point.
Tiers B and C: the rest of the Deadlock tier list roster
Tier B covers most of the roster. Decent heroes, situational, or ones that require more investment to shine. Paige is a decent support option. With the right team synergies, she can be truly effective. McGinnis had her moment of glory in March with a broken ultimate, but has come back to earth. Her V1 remains solid and her split push is interesting, but very situational.
Bebop in spirit is too dependent on his early scaling. If you get farmed out, the game becomes very difficult. The need to land his grabs and an ultimate that is easily avoidable make him risky in ranked. Grey Talon was adjusted recently — viable but not dominant in the current meta.
Kelvin deserves a special mention. His dome is one of the best ultimates in the game. It can wipe an entire team, save a teammate, isolate an enemy carry, or freely secure an objective. When played well, the impact is enormous.
Viscous is very versatile but suffers from a high execution barrier. You need to know your combos well and have a team that can capitalize on them. Wouks notes that if only his yellow gameplay were considered, he would be in tier A. Seven deserves his placement: very strong after 20 minutes, his scaling remains impressive, his ball is too powerful for defending or pushing, and his ultimate in team fights is fearsome.
Victor has gone through multiple reworks in all directions. Valve does not seem to have found the right formula yet. He remains strong in ultra late game, but getting there is another challenge. Abrams is slightly less dominant than before, but still tanky and impactful. Doorman comes back to life with recent patches. Decent, but very team-dependent. Not a solo carry.
Tier C closes out the Deadlock tier list with Vyper, Calico and a few others. Vyper is too strong in early but his breaths become too weak after 15 minutes, unless you perfectly master the right build and timing. Calico received a gift from Valve with extra souls on kill through his slash, which lets him snowball more easily. But accumulated nerfs have made him less impactful than he once was. A hero to revisit if Valve shows him more love going forward.
