ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM | PTR BARBARE
Build Overview
This Barbarian build designed by @Rob2628 pushes the
Whirlwind skill to its maximum, embodying the archetype of the immortal warrior capable of spinning continuously at the heart of the densest fights in Season 14. The "Spin2Win" principle relies on a continuously channeled
Whirlwind, fueled by Fury thanks to three chained support shouts, and whose ignition explosions are multiplied by
Gohr's Devastating Grips. Survival is ensured by a combination of Fortify, Barriers, and precise resource management — making the Barbarian nearly invulnerable in endgame variants. The build is accessible from the leveling phase in its starter version (without mythics), then scales up in power with the addition of items such as
Heir of Perdition,
Melted Heart of Selig, and
Tyrael's Might. It is a top-tier choice for players looking to clear The Pit at high tiers while remaining virtually unkillable.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Continuously channeled Whirlwind — smooth and intuitive rotation
- Immortal variants with extremely high survivability thanks to Fortify and Barriers
- Explosive fire damage via
Gohr's Devastating Grips — excellent against groups - Remarkable scalability from starter to mythic endgame builds
- Effective on Bosses and in Pit farming thanks to dedicated variants
Cons
- Dependent on support shouts — a poor rotation significantly reduces damage output
- The most powerful endgame variants require several rare mythics
- Limited mobility outside of movement speed-oriented variants
Recommended Gear
Loot Table
The gear of this build revolves around pieces that directly amplify
Whirlwind and reinforce the Barbarian's survivability.
Gohr's Devastating Grips are the centerpiece: they accumulate stacks of fire damage with each rotation and release them in a devastating explosion when the whirlwind stops.
Heir of Perdition (mythic helm) provides Strength and maximum resource bonuses essential for endgame variants, while
Tyrael's Might (mythic chest) delivers an unmatched level of defense for immortal versions.
Melted Heart of Selig converts Life points into additional Fury resource, creating a unique synergy with the Barbarian's intentional self-endangerment.
Ring of Starless Skies reduces the cost of channeling skills as they are used continuously, perfect to sustain
Whirlwind over time. In the Boss variant,
Aspect of Heavenly Strength on the
Pants ensures a constant flow of Fury per second. The
Aspect of Anger Management and Crushing Aspect complete the offensive kit to maximize Critical Damage Multipliers.
Horadric Seal S14
The Horadric Seal of this build is configured around Seal of the Diamond Mind, accompanied by six charms selected to reinforce survivability and amplify
Whirlwind. The charms primarily target Fury per second, Maximum Life, and offensive Greater Affixes, consistent with the rest of the endgame gear.
Gameplay Tips
The basic rotation consists of activating the three shouts in the following order before launching
Whirlwind: start with
Rallying Cry to gain the Fortify buff and generate Fury, follow up with
War Cry to apply Vulnerable on enemies and activate the Mighty Roar bonus, then use
Challenging Shout to reduce incoming damage and stack a damage bonus. Once all three shouts are active, channel
Whirlwind continuously in the middle of enemy groups. Refresh the shouts as they expire, making sure never to leave the Barbarian without an active Fortify buff, which constitutes the primary layer of passive
Ward. In immortal variants,
Wrath of the Berserker is used during high-pressure phases to trigger Berserking mode and temporarily maximize damage and Fury generation. Always keep Fury above the threshold needed for continuous
Whirlwind by using
Lunging Strike if needed to quickly refill the gauge.
Skill Tree
The core of the skill tree is
Whirlwind maxed at rank 15/15, with the Channel Damage Bonus and Tornado upgrades to maximize channeling damage and the area tornado effect. The three shouts —
Rallying Cry,
War Cry, and
Challenging Shout — are all invested for their Fortify, Mighty Roar, and Vulnerable upgrades respectively, forming the defensive and offensive backbone of the build.
Wrath of the Berserker is fully invested at rank 15/15 for starter and non-fire endgame variants, with the Berserking upgrade guaranteeing permanent Berserking state.
Lunging Strike stays at rank 1/15 but with the Berserking upgrade to trigger the state when needed. The fire endgame version replaces
Wrath of the Berserker with
Call of the Ancients at rank 15/15 for massive area support thanks to the Empowered upgrade and the attack speed bonus.
Mercenary S14
Subo is the recommended mercenary for this build, thanks to his ability to disrupt ranged enemies and support the Barbarian during
Whirlwind channeling phases. His Wired Trap skill immobilizes and makes enemies Vulnerable in an area, creating ideal explosion windows for
Gohr's Devastating Grips.
Cover Fire allows him to stay out of danger zones while dealing additional damage on Bosses. Subo represents an excellent utility choice that requires no complex gear investment, making him relevant from the very start of the build.
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon tree of this build is organized around five boards designed to maximize
Whirlwind damage and the Barbarian's toughness. The starting board hosts the
Might glyph (rank 100) to amplify base damage. The Carnage board, focused on melee damage, is completed by the
Crusher glyph (rank 100) which boosts channeling critical strikes. Blood Rage receives the
Challenger glyph (rank 100) to leverage synergies with Berserking buffs. Warbringer carries the
Wrath glyph (rank 100), which directly benefits from the Barbarian's Strength bonus. Finally, the Weapons Master board is equipped with the
Marshal glyph (rank 100) to optimize active skill management during shout rotations.
