LEVELING | ENDGAME | BUDGET | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM SACRESPRIT
Build Overview
This poison Stinger Spiritborn build, dubbed Poison Stinger - Stingerborn by its author @imortilize, relies entirely on
Stinger damage to skewer enemies from range, while your summons and defensive skills handle the melee pressure. Far from being a simple gear guide, this Spiritborn setup leans on several unique items and aspects focused on poison and summoning, designed to maximize damage output in both farming and boss fights. One detail deserves special attention: a damage bug still active in Season 14 lets you massively multiply this setup's power against Unstoppable enemies — a point covered in detail further down in the Gameplay Tips section.
Pros and Cons
✅ Strengths
- Exploits a damage bug still active in Season 14 (Zik Rune paired with
Crushing Blow), which multiplies
Stinger damage by roughly 6x against Unstoppable enemies and bosses - High, consistent ranged poison damage thanks to
Stinger as the main skill - Good balance between offensive pressure and survivability thanks to your summons (
Ravager,
Scourge) and defensive skills (
Toxic Skin,
Armored Hide) - Relevant setup across the entire end-game (Pit, bosses, the most demanding seasonal activities) as long as the bug stays active
- Predictable burst windows as soon as a hard crowd control effect ends, making combat easier to anticipate
❌ Weaknesses
- Relies on a bug Blizzard hasn't fixed yet, which could be patched at any time
- Requires deliberately triggering a hard crowd control effect and then waiting for the Unstoppable window to benefit from the damage bonus, which demands some timing
- Loses much of its competitive edge if you choose not to exploit this bug
Recommended Equipment
Loot Table
This build's gear centers on several iconic Spiritborn unique items: the
Rod of Kepeleke as the main weapon to boost
Stinger damage, complemented by the
Ring of the Midnight Sun and, in the optimized version, the mythic
Ring of Starless Skies. The Harmony of Ebewaka helm and
Hesha e Kesungi gloves further reinforce the summoning and survivability side of the kit. On the aspects side, the build leans notably on the Aspect of Debilitating Toxins and the
Aspect of Might to boost poison and overall damage, as well as the Aspect of Glynn's Anvil for survivability against packs of enemies. This gear foundation especially benefits from the damage bug detailed in the Gameplay Tips section, which massively amplifies your main skill's impact against bosses.
Horadric Seal S13
The Horadric Seal in this Endgame version relies on the Bliss of the Multitude charm set (5 pieces: Linta of the Multitude, Mlor of the Multitude, Phoba of the Multitude, Beru of the Multitude, and Fer of the Multitude), rounded out by the unique charm Protean Heart in the sixth slot. The seal itself is Legendary rarity, which unlocks all six charm slots available on this talisman. The interactive grid below lets you explore equivalent variants, from Starter all the way to Pushing.
Gameplay Tips
This build's key focus isn't its gear but a damage bug still active in Season 14, which @imortilize tested and confirmed right at the season's launch: equipped with the Zik Rune, he literally melted a boss in a matter of seconds. This rune normally triggers
Concussive Stomp, which deals damage and knocks enemies to the ground — this behavior works exactly as intended and is not affected by the bug.
The problem comes from its upgrade variant,
Crushing Blow. On paper, this upgrade should only make
Concussive Stomp deal +500% damage against Unstoppable enemies and bosses. In practice, it applies that +500% bonus to ALL your skills as soon as an enemy is Unstoppable, not just to
Concussive Stomp. Now, in Diablo IV, an enemy affected by a hard crowd control effect (Freeze, Fear, etc.) briefly becomes Unstoppable the moment that effect ends. It's during this window that your main damage skill, here
Stinger, deals massively amplified damage — up to roughly 6 times more than normal against a boss.
This bug works on any build, not just this Spiritborn setup. It was reported to Blizzard as early as the end of the previous season and still hasn't been fixed for Season 14: a fix could arrive in a future patch, or be pushed back to the next season. In practice, as long as it stays active, it creates a significant power gap in end-of-season competitive content (leaderboards, the hardest activities) between players who exploit it and those who don't — to the point that the author considers it nearly essential to stay competitive, while also noting that nothing forces you to engage with a bug if you'd rather skip it.
Talent Tree
This Spiritborn build's talent tree is built around
Stinger as the main damage skill, complemented by
Ravager and
Scourge for summoning and area pressure. Defensive points are split between
Toxic Skin,
Armored Hide, and
The Protector, which secure your survival against packs of enemies, while
Counterattack and
Concussive Stomp round out the kit. It's precisely the
Crushing Blow upgrade of
Concussive Stomp that lies at the heart of the damage bug detailed in the Gameplay Tips section — making this talent choice far from incidental in this build.
Mercenary S13
This build's primary mercenary is Raheir, whose
Ground Slam ability groups up and immobilizes enemies around him — a valuable asset for keeping your foes within
Stinger range and for more easily triggering the Unstoppable windows mentioned in the Gameplay Tips section.
Paragon and Glyphs
The Endgame variant's Paragon setup relies on four legendary glyphs:
Fester,
Menagerist,
Spirit, and
Colossal. This selection rounds out the build's ranged damage and survivability focus by covering both the offensive and defensive axes of the Paragon Board, while still leaving room to adjust active nodes based on the content you're tackling (Pit, bosses, mass farming).
