Build Overview

This Druid build with the Shaman ascendancy pushes the mana stacking philosophy to its extreme: it transforms your mana pool into a colossal damage source, automatically triggered by the Cast on CriticalCast on Critical mechanic. The result is what its creator calls a « weather controller » — a character that clears three screens ahead, tanks everything without flinching, and kills absolutely everything by pressing a single button. No rotation to memorize, no buffs to track, no life bar to manage: you charge forward and the screen empties around you.

The great strength of this build is its versatility. The Cast on CriticalCast on Critical engine accepts any spell without losing efficiency: ArcArc for blazing through maps at full speed, or CometComet for destroying bosses. Each configuration hits the ceiling of its potential, and the complete absence of a skill cap makes it ideal for both solo and group play — a rare advantage for an endgame build of this power level.

At the heart of the machine sits ArchmageArchmage, which converts your massive mana into devastating damage, powered by the Runeseeker’s Call weapon and its bonded modifiers that define the entire Shaman identity. On the defensive side, the build relies on the ascendancy’s reactive growth, Arctic ArmourArctic Armour, and the Mind over Matter principle to remain nearly invulnerable. Be warned however: in its optimized version, this is a costly build to put together — a budget version exists, but don’t expect the same performance as shown in the video.

Strengths / Weaknesses

✅ Strengths

  • Extreme clear speed: clears up to three screens ahead thanks to ArcArc chains
  • « 1-button » build: zero mental load, playable almost AFK
  • Near-invulnerable survivability: reactive growth, Arctic ArmourArctic Armour and Mind over Matter
  • Full versatility: ArcArc for clearing, CometComet for bossing, without any loss of efficiency
  • Excellent in group play: no skill cap, unlike Flicker builds
  • Massive damage: approximately 20 million on the tooltip, one-shot on the majority of content

❌ Weaknesses

  • Very expensive in the optimized version (Runeseeker’s Call with 6 sockets, lineage gems)
  • Jewel-dependent: crit chance > 97% and 6-7% max mana on kill are mandatory
  • Vulnerable to ranged in rare situations with large numbers of distant enemies
  • Budget version falls short: noticeably weaker than the version shown in the video

Recommended Equipment

The goal of the equipment is straightforward: stack as much mana and Energy Shield (converted to mana via mana stacking) as possible, while securing crit. Here are the key pieces of the optimised build.

  • Weapon — Runeseeker’s Call (a unique Runic Fork): the cornerstone and main damage source. Combined with its runes, it brings the crucial bonded modifiers — 60% increased maximum mana and a 3% maximum life leech on every spell. A 6-socket is ideal, but a 5-socket is sufficient for a tighter budget.
  • Focus — Rathpith Globe: the second damage source. You absolutely want critical hit chance and increased damage per 100 maximum mana.
  • Helmet, body armour, boots: you want as much Energy Shield, mana and intelligence as possible. On the body armour, a desecrated prefix for maximum mana (20–90%) makes all the difference.
  • Gloves: the priority is Arcane SurgeArcane Surge on critical hit — a buff you will maintain permanently thanks to 100% critical hit chance.
  • Rings: the second major mana source of the build, primarily mana cost efficiency of spells (35%) — your very first investment priority.
  • Amulet: 50 Spirit mandatory, maximum mana, +4 to the level of all spells, and a Cast on CriticalCast on Critical at level 20 to unlock the 5 sockets required.
  • Belt — Mageblood: entirely optional. It has no impact on damage or survivability, so feel free to replace it with a defensive or rarity belt.
  • Charm: the build uses Rite of Passage, but this slot remains flexible (the creator mentions Spirit of the Stag as an alternative for the lightning bonus). Simply avoid critical resistance charms (already capped) and Energy Shield charms.

Gameplay Tips

  • Cap your crit chance above 97%: this is the absolute requirement for Cast on CriticalCast on Critical to trigger continuously.
  • Aim for 6–7% maximum mana per kill: ArchmageArchmage consumes roughly 5.9% of your maximum mana per spell, so this rate offsets the expenditure and keeps the engine running.
  • Adapt your spell to the content: ArcArc for mapping (its 26 to 32 chains clear three screens at once), CometComet or SparkSpark for enclosed situations such as the Simulacrum.
  • Play the low life angle: Pain Attunement combined with Atziris CommunionAtziris Communion keeps you below the low life threshold for a massive critical damage bonus.
  • Don’t fear melee range: thanks to the ascendancy’s reactive growth, stay in the middle of packs and under bosses — your damage reduction adapts to the elemental type of each hit received.
  • Exploit jewel unique From Nothing: this jewel allows you to allocate large nodes around the conduit without a connection to the tree, which multiplies the value of your central jewel.

The Shaman Ascendancy: the heart of the build

The choice of ascendancy is no coincidence. The creator immediately dismisses alternatives such as Gemling or Oracle, which he considers far weaker and, above all, far more expensive for inferior results. The Shaman, on the other hand, adapts to any budget and any skill, making it the most versatile ascendancy for this type of build.

Its founding mechanic rests on bonded modifiers: your character benefits from bonuses tied to runes and idols, unlocking up to 60% additional maximum mana and the precious life leech on spellcasting. This is exactly the foundation that makes mana stacking viable. On top of that comes reactive growth, which reduces incoming damage by adapting to the elemental type of each hit received — letting you stand in the thick of the action without risking a one-shot.

The Cast on Critical engine explained

The entire build revolves around one principle: Cast on CriticalCast on Critical automatically triggers your spells on every critical hit. With 100% critical strike chance, triggering is constant — you literally just attack and comets or arcs rain down.

The key technical point to understand is the energy generation formula: the more damage the triggering spell deals, the more energy it generates for the meta skills. That is why the creator places his best damage supports (such as Rakiatas FlowRakiatas Flow) on ArcArc rather than on Cast on CriticalCast on Critical itself. And with an ArcArc capable of chaining 26 to 32 times, a single press clears three full screens at once.

Understanding mana stacking

Mana stacking means turning your mana pool into both your shield and your weapon. Thanks to Eldritch Battery, your Energy Shield is converted into mana; every point of shield therefore becomes mana, and therefore damage through ArchmageArchmage. That is why all gear targets maximum Energy Shield and maximum mana.

The Mind over Matter keystone completes the defensive picture: since the build does not rely on life, incoming damage is taken from mana first. Combined with life leech on cast and mana sustain on kill, you end up with a character that regenerates continuously as long as it keeps killing — which is always.

Budget version and investment order

The build’s high cost comes almost entirely from the 6-socket Runeseeker’s Call and a handful of top-tier lineage gems. The good news is that most of the expensive pieces are pure min-maxing: a 5-socket Runeseeker’s Call, slightly imperfect double-crit jewels, and budget boots are already enough to get the build running smoothly.

If you are just starting to invest, begin with rings (mana cost efficiency) and a solid Rathpith GlobeRathpith Globe — those unlock the most power for the least cost. MagebloodMageblood, on the other hand, can wait indefinitely — it is entirely optional. The budget version will not match the showcase video, but it is more than sufficient to clear the endgame safely.
