How the score is computed

Every item the class can wear at the tier level, and obtain from a dungeon, a dungeon quest or a profession open at that tier, gets a score: its stats multiplied by the specialization weights. The weights come from the WoW Forever simulator (wowsims, MIT licence), where hit and crit are shared by melee and spells.

The tool keeps the best item of each slot, two different rings and trinkets, and the best weapon setup the specialization allows (two-hander, dual wield, weapon and shield, weapon and off-hand item). Profession-only items, such as engineering goggles, are left out.

Special effects (use, chance on hit), set bonuses and resistances are not scored: the tool flags them as “effect not scored”.

Frequently asked questions

How is the WoW Forever BiS computed?

Every item the class can wear and obtain at the tier gets a score: its stats multiplied by the specialization weights from the WoW Forever simulator. The tool keeps the best score of each slot.

Why does the list stop at level 30?

The WoW Forever beta is capped at level 30. Level 60 lists, before the raids and then with the raids from December 9, will come to this same page.

Can I share my gear?

Yes. The Share button copies a link that reopens exactly your set, with its enchants and your custom weights.

Are trinket special effects counted?

No. Use effects, chance on hit and set bonuses are not scored; the tool flags them as “effect not scored”.
