Build Overview

This Warrior Furious Slam build with the Titan ascendancy pushes rage-stacking to its absolute maximum to generate devastating stacking poison. Three pieces come together perfectly: Furious Slam (Furious SlamFurious Slam), a werewolf skill that sends out two ground shockwaves and doubles poison application, Tacati’s Ire (Tacati’s IreTacati’s Ire), which dramatically speeds up poison spread propagation as long as you have enough rage, and Medved’s Felling (Medved’s FellingMedved’s Felling), a lineage gem added in 0.5 that restores 10% of maximum rage on every melee hit. This last piece alone solves four problems with Furious Slam at once: the high rage cost, the need to slot in other skills just to regenerate rage, the lack of attack speed, and the desire to keep a comfortable one-button playstyle.

The Titan ascendancy is both the defensive and offensive backbone of the build: it multiplies rage sources via Hulking FormHulking Form, drastically increases poison magnitude and chance, and unlocks a very generous evasion/energy shield hybrid thanks to dedicated node clusters on the passive tree. The character runs Chaos InoculationChaos Inoculation (CI, life fixed at 1) to completely cancel out the self-inflicted damage from BerserkBerserk and Medved’s FellingMedved’s Felling while becoming immune to chaos — a choice that removes the main drawback of rage-stacking with no downside at all.

The gameplay is deliberately minimal and comfortable: just holding right-click with Furious Slam is enough to keep five poison stacks up continuously thanks to scaled attack speed and Tacati’s Ire, while Bursting Plague (Bursting PlagueBursting Plague) makes poisoned enemies explode for near-instant zone clearing.

Strengths / Weaknesses

✅ Strengths

  • Ultra-comfortable one-button gameplay: holding right-click with Furious Slam is enough to do everything
  • Massive poison DPS thanks to Tacati’s Ire, which doubles the application speed
  • Very solid hybrid defenses: around 40% evasion and 6500 energy shield that recharges in 1.5 seconds thanks to Titan
  • No downside despite Berserk and Medved’s Felling: Chaos InoculationChaos Inoculation entirely neutralizes self-inflicted damage and grants chaos immunity
  • Nearly free endurance charges: Charge RegulationCharge Regulation benefits from rage expenditure in bear form for +20% energy shield/evasion
  • Near-instant zone clear with the replicas and Bursting Plague on poisoned zones

❌ Weaknesses

  • Total dependency on rage-stacking, a mechanic considered omnipresent in the current melee build meta
  • Attack speed is essential: without it, Furious SlamFurious Slam becomes sluggish again due to its base attack time
  • Critical investment sacrificed due to lack of budget to reroll the weapon until getting critical chance + attack speed
  • Fairly tricky weapon crafting (fractured talisman T1 flat physical damage, targeted suffixes)

Recommended Equipment

  • Weapon (Talisman): fractured base with T1 flat physical damage, « damage gained as extra physical » suffix, plus three levels to melee skills, attack speed, and a perfect exalted roll — attack speed is considered more important than critical chance by the author
  • Helmet: Crown of Eyes (Crown of EyesCrown of Eyes) for maximum rage and resistance; eventually, a helmet with Spirit allows investing in more spirit skills
  • Chest: hybrid evasion / energy shield armor with resistances to cap elemental resistances
  • Amulet: fractured with +1 level to all melee skills, global armor/evasion increase and resistance suffix, completed with a perfect exalted roll
  • Rings: flat physical damage, mana, resistances and strength; Kalandras TouchKalandras Touch allows duplicating an already-crafted ring
  • Gloves: Snakebite (SnakebiteSnakebite) corrupted with +1 level to melee skills and « target can be affected by +1 poison » — a version with a free jewel slot allows adding a jewel that grants an additional socket
  • Belt: flat energy shield, resistances and strength (strength is an attribute to prioritize, as it directly reinforces several defensive nodes on the tree)
  • Boots: resistances, energy shield and attributes to complete the caps
  • Secondary weapon (Weapon Swap): The Wicked Quill grants the Chaos Bolt ability and a 25% chance to inflict withered on spells, supporting the Split Personality jewel
  • Charms: not heavily optimized by the author — there is room for improvement in this slot

Gameplay Tips

  • Always pair Chaos Inoculation with a flat regeneration source (here via SnakebiteSnakebite) so you never die to the effects of BerserkBerserk or Medved’s FellingMedved’s Felling
  • Prioritize attack speed over critical strike chance when crafting the weapon: Furious SlamFurious Slam already has a high base attack time, so attack speed makes it playable with a single held click
  • Don’t push rage past 80: keeping five poison stacks up is already comfortable at that level, beyond that the marginal gain isn’t worth the investment
  • Use Bursting Plague when clearing and Close Combat I for single target (bossing/pinnacles) to adapt the setup to the content
  • Swapping out of the transformation temporarily lowers your maximum rage: keep Eternal RageEternal Rage active so it regenerates quickly after each transformation
  • The late-league market is full of abandoned fractured items: looking for a craft that’s already partway done (e.g. a fractured amulet) lets you finish the craft yourself for a lot less

The key synergy of the Furious Slam Warrior build: Tacati’s Ire + Medved’s Felling

The mechanical core of the build relies on pairing two very specific support gems. Tacati’s Ire (Tacati’s IreTacati’s Ire) massively speeds up the poison application of Furious Slam, but it needs a sizable rage pool to be fully worth it. That’s where Medved’s Felling (Medved’s FellingMedved’s Felling) comes in, a lineage gem added in 0.5: it returns 10% of maximum rage on every melee hit landed, which, once rage is scaled up enough, ends up covering almost the entire rage cost of Furious Slam on every strike. The character therefore never loses net rage as long as a complementary source like Eternal Rage (Eternal RageEternal Rage) stays active. On top of that, Medved’s Felling grants a sizable attack speed bonus, turning Furious Slam — normally slow — into a smooth skill you can just hold down.

Chaos Inoculation: the key to the build’s survival

Rage-stacking combined with BerserkBerserk and Medved’s Felling normally deals damage to the player at a very high rate. The solution used here is radical and effective: switch to Chaos InoculationChaos Inoculation (CI), which fixes the character’s health at a flat 1 point. With no life left to lose, these self-inflicted effects become harmless, as long as you have a bit of flat regeneration (provided here by the Snakebite gloves) so you never drop to zero. CI also grants total immunity to chaos damage, further securing the character with no downside on this hybrid evasion/energy shield build.

Why the Titan ascendancy is essential

Titan isn’t just one option among others for this warrior build Furious SlamFurious Slam: it’s what makes the entire concept viable. The werewolf form (Hulking FormHulking Form) generates rage continuously for minimal investment, freeing up points for the rest of the build. Titan also greatly increases poison magnitude and poison chance — to the point that 102% chance to poison is reached here without heavily investing in the tree, largely thanks to Snakebite’s intrinsic bonus. Finally, the ascendancy unlocks highly concentrated evasion and energy shield nodes that allow for a solid defensive hybrid despite a normally ungenerous dual-layer evasion/ES base.

Passive tree: rage, poison and hybrid defenses

On the passive tree, the top priority is reaching From NothingFrom Nothing with Pain AttunementPain Attunement to unlock Mystical RageMystical Rage, then anointing with Bestial RageBestial Rage — the « each rage grants physical damage » effect multiplies directly with BerserkBerserk for a major share of the build’s damage. The remaining points are split between rage generation nodes, poison magnitude nodes, and the Split PersonalitySplit Personality cluster (Monk bonus) to stack extra evasion and energy shield nodes as well as faster energy shield recharge. One final detour to Chaos InoculationChaos Inoculation at the top of the tree, combined with a neighboring stun resistance node, makes the character nearly immune to stuns while using their skills.
