Build Overview
Here is the day 2 update of mas0ny1’s Stormweaver build, a Sorceress who goes all-in on spamming
Comet triggered automatically. The character is now fully operational: level 87, complete six-links, and most importantly the build’s centerpiece, the unique wand Adonias Ego (which mas0ny1 nicknames « Adonius »). With this gear, you can already farm T15 maps (including juiced versions) and tackle tier 3 bosses without any real damage concerns, even with a still modest setup.
The core of the build relies on two triggers:
Cast on Critical and Cast on Elemental Ailment.
Spark acts as the generator: it peppers enemies with projectiles, triggers criticals and inflicts all three elemental ailments — burning, shock and freeze — thanks to the
Pinnacle of Power mechanic of the Adonius wand. These two triggers then cast
Comet,
Firestorm and
Living Bomb, delivering massive chain damage without having to cast them manually.
The big new addition in this update is the ailment immunity tech via the
Commiserate gem: as long as a
Spark hits an enemy, your own ailments (burning, shock, freeze) are continuously removed. This is a massive quality-of-life improvement for mapping, at the cost of only one damage link — a trade well worth making.
Strengths / Weaknesses
✅ Strengths
- Explosive damage: once Adonius is equipped, damage doubles or even triples (around 1 to 2 million DPS on a frozen target).
- Online by day 2: capable of farming juiced T15 maps and tackling tier 3 bosses with a reasonable investment.
- Ailment immunity: the
Commiserate tech continuously removes burn, shock, and freeze — a rare comfort in mapping. - Smooth mana loop: Arcane Search splits the cost between mana and life, and the remnants regenerate both — allowing very high-level gems early on.
- Excellent clear speed: the projectiles from
Spark combined with
Mana Tempest splitting spells onto additional targets clear the screen instantly. - Highly scalable: many easy upgrades remain available (level 21 gems, better jewels, anoint on the
Yoke of Suffering).
❌ Weaknesses
- Dependent on key uniques: the build reaches its full potential with Adonius, Malagaro’s, and a 181 spirit scepter; before that, damage is noticeably lower.
- Technical weapon swap management: generating power charges and applying
Pinnacle of Power requires a manual weapon swap to master. - Tricky Mana Tempest: mismanaged, it drains all your life and mana and can kill you — you need to know when to « pop and leave ».
- High mental load: this is not a one-button build; you need to juggle between
Frost Bomb,
Sigil of Power,
Spark and the weapon swap.

The equipment for this build is surprisingly straightforward to assemble: apart from the two core uniques, most slots only need life, resistances, and Runic Ward.
- Main weapon — Adonius: the piece that defines the build. Make sure to get a -1 power charge version: it deals all three elements and makes managing the resistances tied to power charges much easier.
- Secondary weapon — 181 spirit scepter: the only stat that matters is exactly 181 spirit. An Omen scepter is ideal in the long run, but any scepter with 181 spirit will do to start — expect around 1 divine.
- Off-hand chiming: look for +spell levels and cast speed, with high quality and a minimum level of 19. Cast speed accelerates the placement of
Sigil of Power, and quality increases its size. - Helmet: Runic Ward + resistances (use the Runic Ward bench — better than Energy Shield for this build).
- Body armour: same as the helmet — life, resistances, and Runic Ward.
- Amulet — Yoke of Suffering: anoint later for an additional damage boost.
- Belt — Malagaro’s: simply life and resistances.
- Ring: life, resistances, and mana.
- Boots: movement speed above all, plus some resistances.
- Sockets chaos res (+11%): use these to cap your chaos res in addition to the three elements (target 75/75).
Gameplay Tips
- Always keep a Spark active: this is the condition for ailment immunity (
Commiserate). Without
Spark on the ground, you become vulnerable to freeze and shock again. - Mapping rotation: place
Frost Bomb, then cast
Spark twice (or Tempest +
Spark if you have remnants) and move forward — the triggers handle the rest. - Mana Tempest on bosses: « pop and leave ». Place it and immediately get out — otherwise it drains all your life and mana and kills you.
- Instant life and mana flasks: essential to never get « bricked » and always be able to recast your spells.
- Tanky boss: add
Freezing Mark (freeze build-up + cold damage bonus) and
War Banner for more damage and attack speed. - Pre-charges via weapon swap: generate your power charges in weapon set 2 (
Firestorm +
Unleash +
Spell Cascade), then manually swap and press
Pinnacle of Power to activate the buff.
The Ailment Immunity Tech Explained
This is the core innovation of this update. Thanks to
Pinnacle of Power (the power of the Adonius wand), each of your
Spark inflicts all three elemental ailments: ignite, shock, and freeze. The
Commiserate gem exploits this behavior: every time you inflict an ailment on an enemy, you remove that same ailment from yourself and gain more of its offensive magnitude.
In practice, as long as a
Spark hits a monster, the game continuously « cleanses » you: the freeze and shock applied to you disappear a fraction of a second later. This is not immunity in the strict sense — it does not necessarily work against chilled/shocked ground, which depends on the application speed — but in practice you ignore ignite, shock, and freeze throughout mapping. The only requirement: always keep a
Spark on the ground. In bossing, if you do not need this comfort, simply replace
Commiserate with a damage link such as
Rising Tempest.
The Mana-Loop via Arcane Search
The other lesser-known pillar of the build is the resource loop. The Arcane Search node splits the cost of your spells between mana and life — for example 71 mana and 35 life per cast. At first glance this seems like a drawback, but each remnant picked up restores both resources at once.
The result: you loop your mana much earlier in the progression, which allows for much higher level gems (the
Comet reaches level 23 with the build’s bonuses). This is also what allows you to safely play Mind over Matter — but wait until you have both
Cast on Critical and Cast on Elemental Ailment active before taking it, as the nodes that consume elements fuel remnant generation. Keep an instant life and mana flask as a safety net regardless.
Progression: From Cast on Crit to Adonias Ego
The transition happens in two steps that you can combine. First step: add Cast on Elemental Ailment as soon as you have enough spirit (exactly 181, the easiest way being an Omen scepter). At this stage, place
Flame Wall,
Ice Nova, Arc and
Firestorm in the Cast on Elemental Ailment, and your
Comet in the
Cast on Critical. Keep these gems at the lowest level possible (level 1 and 5), except
Flame Wall (high level for the added fire damage) and
Firestorm (level 11 minimum).
Second step: equip Adonias Ego and swap your two links. From now on, put your
Comet in the Cast on Elemental Ailment and utility skills in the
Cast on Critical, because the Cast on Elemental Ailment triggers extremely often with Adonias Ego. You need to master the weapon swap to bypass the power charges penalty, and just +20 resistances are enough to compensate. This transition doubles or triples your DPS — a massive power spike. Then think about buying the
Yoke of Suffering and capping your resistances (75/75, with the chaos res sockets).
4th Ascendancy Options
For the last ascendancy point, several options are available. mas0ny1 recommends the double chill node. You can also take Arcane Search, or aim for
Elemental Storm paired with
Arbiters Ignition — this support grants Elemental Archon (25% more damage and a huge elemental ailment application boost), but it is not yet available on the market as too few players have defeated the Arbiter to drop it.
In the meantime, the double chill node remains the best choice: the
Arcane Surge bonus can already be obtained through two critical nodes, which only costs you a bit of cast speed while freeing up two ascendancy points. Ultimately, the goal is to switch to
Elemental Storm + Arbiter’s Ignition once the support is in circulation.
