This Saturday, October 17, at 5:00 PM UTC (7:00 PM in Paris), hundreds of level 30 Horde characters, all carrying the surname « Foreverpvp », will face each other on the beta. The first WoW Forever tournament begins, with $100,000 on the line and two days of one-on-one duels. Organizer Tips Out reported more than 6,000 sign-ups on October 15, according to the summary by ForeverChanges.
Here are the times, the channels to open, the format and the rules most likely to cause a stir before Sunday night.
The WoW Forever tournament schedule
The official page of the WoW Forever tournament on Raider.IO lists every time in GMT. For Paris and most of Central Europe, which stay on summer time until October 25, add two hours.

Where to watch the WoW Forever tournament
The main broadcast runs on two Twitch channels, both days: Esfand and Xaryu. Esfand announced it himself in his post on X: the tournament is organized by Tips Out and hosted by Esfand and Xaryu.
The most useful detail if you want to follow a specific player: every participant must stream their own duels live, on Twitch, YouTube or Kick, and keep the recording for the referees. During the qualifiers, every pod plays at the same time, so a player’s own channel is often the only place to watch their match.
Co-streaming is allowed, as long as you follow the terms of Blizzard, your platform and the tournament.

I will be live from 4:30 PM UTC (6:30 PM Paris) on the Kami Labs Twitch channel to cast the tournament in French. We will jump between channels to follow the duels that matter, from Esfand and Xaryu’s broadcast to the players’ own streams.
The format: six rounds on Saturday, one final bracket on Sunday
Every duel is played at level 30, on the Horde side, on the beta’s PvP ruleset. According to the format document published on October 8 and summarized by ForeverChanges, players are split into pods of about 36 with a mix of classes. Each player plays six Swiss rounds (every round pits you against someone with a similar record). A win is worth 3 points, a tie 1, a loss 0.
Rankings are made within each class. The top four of each of the nine classes, 36 players in total, reach the finals. On Sunday, everyone joins a single double-elimination bracket (you are out after two losses). Winners’ bracket matches are best of three, losers’ bracket matches are single duels, and the grand final is best of five. Blizzard has prepared an arena in the Hyjal Crater for the finals.
$100,000: how the prize pool is split
The prize pool started at $50,000, the figure still shown in Esfand’s announcement. On September 28, streamer TimTheTatman added $50,000 out of his own pocket. Tips Out confirmed it the same day on X: the total rose to $100,000.

The champion takes $50,000 and the title of « Death’s Duelist ». The best player of each class receives $5,555. In the champion’s class, that prize goes to the next best player, and ties are split.
The WoW Forever tournament rules that will get people talking
Every player signed up with a character created after September 27, and must keep it for the whole tournament, with one talent build per stage. Before each duel, referees check talents and bags on stream. Transmogrification must stay off, so everyone can see what their opponent is really wearing.
The list of banned items changed several times in a month: world buffs, buffs from other players, Healthstones you did not make yourself, Deviate Fish, and quest or dungeon gear above item level 45. We covered the potion controversy in our article on the tournament consumables, and the exploit that pushed professions to 300 in our piece on the profession exploit.
The tournament is also played on a brand-new version of the game. The October 15 beta patch reworked races and part of the talent trees, which changes the duels of several classes: the details are in our October 15 patch summary. To see what the builds look like, our talent calculator is already up to date.
For the bracket, the pods and live results, the only reliable reference is the tournament page on Raider.IO. See you at 6:30 PM Paris time on Twitch for the rest.
