[Classic/TBC] Cloth Farming Guide

📖 Source : Forum officiel Ascension

Want to level Tailoring or First Aid ? Don’t have the gold to buy the cloths from AH ? That’s OK, I got you.
Here’s a short guide to farming all of the cloths starting at Linen Cloth and going all the way to Netherweave Cloth.
This guide requires you to be level 70 since we’ll mostly AoE farm dungeons or places with high mob density.

Note: All these locations are tried and tested by me on Ascension, I’ve tried other farming locations that were in other guides but most were either average or just plain not worth doing on this server.

Starting from Linen Cloth and all the way to Runecloth the best places to farm I’ve found are actually dungeons.
Only Netherweave Cloth we’ll farm in the outside areas.

But why dungeons tho ?
There’s a few reasons why you want to farm dungeons for cloth instead of open world:
1 – Higher-mob density
2 – The mobs inside dungeons dont scale up and have the dungeons native level(for example [zone=1581] mobs are level 17-20) which makes them easier/faster to farm than in the outside world where mobs are scaled to lvl 57.
3 – There’s no competition, it’s just you in there, nobody else can steal your mobs/loot.
4 – You can reset the instances making all the mobs reappear.
5 – The best part is you actually get at least 2 types of cloth per each dungeon, so you’re actually farming 2 types of cloths at a time instead of just 1 saving on time.

A Lootbot 3000 and a portable vendor like Field Repair Bot 110G(this requires engineering) are highly recommended but not mandatory, they would just help you loot faster and sell the junk you get from the mobs.

Linen Cloth and Wool Cloth
DEADMINES
You want to pulls mobs along the green line and pull them to red circles and aoe them down and loot them there.

I averaged 65 Linen Cloth and 35 Wool Cloth per run.

After finishing the run you can exit through that little cave at the end and go through Westfall again to reset and enter again or you can backtrack back to the entrance.

Silk Cloth and Mageweave Cloth
ZUL’FARRAK

I averaged 50 Silk Cloth and 130 Mageweave Cloth per run.
You also want to loot Flask of Mojo since they’re needed to level up Jewelcrafting. You can either keep them for yourself if you want to level JWC(needed for Aquamarine Signet or you can sell them on AH.

Runecloth
STRATHOLME

I averaged 150 Runecloth per run.
Here you want to kill everything, undeads too not just humanoids since they also drop Runecloth.

Netherweave Cloth
SHADOWMOON VALLEY

This is the location with the highest density of humanoids and the one I recommend farming. They are mostly in packs of 3 and they’re all stacked together.
There are dozens of Eclipsion Spellbinder / Eclipsion Soldier / Eclipsion Cavalier .
They also drop Sunfury Signet Arcane Tome which are needed for Scryers reputation. Alternatively you can sell them on AH.

Alternate spot:
NETHERSTORM

You want to kill the blood elves around Manaforge B’Naar.
This location isn’t as good as the one in Shadowmoon but it’s a decent alternative if someone else is farming there.

[b]The amounts I posted from each are a rough average, some runs you will get less, some you will get more. RNG .[b]
