The Apocalypse Warlock build Season 13 concept: ultimate spam on loop

Apocalypse is an ultimate, so in theory it comes with a long cooldown. On this build, that cooldown drops to once every 1 to 2 seconds. The result on screen is a continuous rain of fire that obliterates elite packs and makes Hellfire farming look trivial.

This build is clearly aimed at the top end of Pit pushing. Not necessarily the fastest in speed farming, but when it comes to climbing tiers, very few builds can compete. The trade-off is a real learning curve and a fury management system that takes some practice to run at full efficiency.

The 3 mechanics that make everything explode

Without these three pillars, the build makes no sense. It is the stacking of all three that sends the damage counters into the stratosphere.

1. Annihilation

The Annihilation upgrade for Apocalypse resets the spell's cooldown after several Hellfire hits. With enough monsters in the pack, charges stack up at full speed and you're back to the famous 1 to 2 second recharge. This is what allows you to spam Apocalypse over and over again.

2. Overwhelm

Overwhelm converts the Warlock's defense into damage. Every occult skill used adds stacks. Combined with the class mechanic and the ritual fragment, you reach bonuses that push Apocalypse damage from 100 billion to 300 billion per tick. The gap between a correct rotation and a perfect one amounts to a factor of 3.

3. Volatility

The Burning Fragment lets you stack up to three charges of Volatility, which amplify Hellfire occult skills. At 3 charges, you're looking at a 30% multiplier stacked on top of everything else. The typical sequence: build Volatility, unleash Apocalypse, and the room explodes.
