Almost two years on sale, and a countdown with no date. Grinding Gear Games (GGG), the studio behind Path of Exile 2, has warned that its Early Access supporter packs will leave the store « in a few weeks », for good. The same announcement promises five new packs. Should you buy now? The published facts point toward waiting, and what GGG left out matters as much as what it said.
What GGG wrote about the supporter packs
The message comes from the « Early Access Supporter Packs Leaving Soon » thread on the official forum, signed Natalia_GGG and dated October 23, 2026. Its key sentence: « They’ll be leaving the store forever in a few weeks, to be replaced by a set of five new packs. » The text adds that the packs have existed for almost two years.
According to the announcement, each pack contains microtransactions (cosmetic items bought with real money) usable in both Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2, Early Access keys, points to spend in the store, and cosmetics exclusive to these packs. The most expensive tiers add physical items: T-shirts, hoodies and a Path of Exile 2 artbook. « Liberator of Wraeclast » supporters can also nominate a unique reward for the Twilight Order Reliquary.
What GGG did not say
Four pieces of information are missing from the supporter packs announcement. The exact removal date: « a few weeks » points to no particular day. The contents of the five new packs, and their price. The fate of purchases already made: the text does not say whether their benefits change, and we claim nothing on that point. We also could not re-read the old packs’ prices on the official store, so we give none.
On the forum, one player, poetsave, asks for that date: « Would be nice to know exactly when the deadline is. » Others answer that the full release on December 11 will, in their view, mark the end. That is players’ deduction, GGG does not write it, and we do not present it as fact.
The payment plan, the real answer to rushing
GGG offers a way out itself. Its text recommends setting up a payment plan if you hesitate: « This allows you to reserve a pack for up to three months from the start of your payment plan. » The process goes through an email to support@grindinggear.com, to be sent before the packs leave.
For anyone set on one specific pack, it is a way to lock in the choice without paying in a hurry. The text gives no details on the terms, so ask support.
Our reading: a pack is no longer worth what it was
The Early Access supporter packs were mainly a way into Path of Exile 2 before everyone else, thanks to the keys. 1.0 launches on December 11 and the game becomes free. In that context the key loses its point, which is our deduction: GGG did not write it. What remains is points, cosmetics and physical items. If you just want to play, nothing justifies buying in a rush. If you want to support the studio or get an exclusive cosmetic, the question is open, but not for tomorrow morning.
Another reason to wait: GGG is replacing the packs. The five new ones have not been shown, and a player in the thread expects more information at ExileCon (the studio’s annual convention). GameSpace places the 2026 edition on November 7 and 8 at the Aotea Centre in Auckland, and recalls that these conventions have hosted major reveals.
Nothing guarantees the new packs will be unveiled there: that is a player expectation, not a GGG announcement. If you wait for that event to decide, you will have seen what the new packs contain before paying. You do take the risk of an earlier removal than expected, since no date is set, and the payment plan covers that risk.
What to do until then
- You want one of the packs: write to support to open a payment plan before they leave.
- You are hesitating: note that the removal date is not published and do not pay under the pressure of a countdown with no date.
