WoW Forever Bugs: Which Quests Are Fixed, Which Aren’t

WoW Forever bugs: a campfire under a cracked quest exclamation mark, on a purple moor at dusk, beneath the torn title "WoW Forever Quest Bugs" and the banner "Fixed or Not"

Article by Kami

You are sitting by the campfire, the camp bonus is active, and the quest still shows 0/1. Since November 4, WoW Forever players have been describing this scene for “The Great Outdoors”, and Blizzard has not published a fix.

Here is the state of the WoW Forever bugs that hit quests between November 4 and 7: what Blizzard has fixed, what it acknowledges without having solved, and what has not moved. Look up your quest by name in the first column of the table. Status recorded on Saturday, November 7, 2026, around 9 a.m. Paris time. If you are just arriving in the game, our guide to getting started in WoW Forever covers the rest of the setup.

WoW Forever bugs on quests: the November 7 table, 9 a.m. Paris time

The table cross-checks two official pages: the forum’s Known Issues thread, kept by Community Manager Kaivax, and Blizzard’s hotfix list. The thread warns on its own: “This is not a comprehensive list of issues”. A quest missing from the table is therefore not necessarily healthy.

The Great Outdoors: the players’ workaround

The thread for The Great Outdoors opened on November 5 at 1:17 a.m. Paris time and has 26 posts. One player says they reported the bug during the beta: “I reported this during beta”. What worked for several of them: typing /sit, then /sit a second time while already seated. Another sat down with the X key before typing /sit. Others advise waiting for the whole duration of the campfire effect.

These tips come from players. The site has not tested them, and Blizzard has not confirmed them.

Escorts: Free From the Hold and two other quests

Among the WoW Forever bugs that hit escort quests, “Free From the Hold” is the best documented. Three forum threads describe the same scenario in The Barrens: after about twenty minutes of escorting from Northwatch Hold, the NPC vanishes at the entrance to Ratchet and the quest fails. One player blames layering (the splitting of the world into copies), another a phase change ten seconds from the end. Blizzard has not confirmed this link.

For “Freedom to Ruul” and “The Defias Brotherhood”, the NPC vanishing near a zone border is acknowledged by a support reply, relayed by a third-party site that we could not check at the source. None of the three appears in the Known Issues thread. No workaround is verified: better to plan these escorts with time to spare.

Ruins of Lordaeron: prerequisites, not one of the WoW Forever bugs

On November 6, around 9:45 p.m. Paris time, a player opened a thread about the Horde quests in Ruins of Lordaeron. In the beta, they write, these had no prerequisites. Now “The Wrath of Rath’mael” requires the Riptear chain, and “The New Plague” a chain that runs through Silverpine Forest and The Sepulcher. They put it this way: “These are level 13 quests for a level 18 dungeon”.

Blizzard has presented these prerequisites neither as a bug nor as a choice, and has published no reason: the table therefore classes them as a change. Among the WoW Forever quests of this dungeon, only one received a fix on November 6: “Unending Torment”, now offered from level 15 instead of 16.

What the November 5 and 6 hotfixes also fixed

The hotfix page is not limited to the WoW Forever bugs on quests listed in the table. In dungeons, the spirit of Zaetar appears again after Princess Theradras in Maraudon, and creatures in Blackmaw Hold and The Drowned City no longer disengage by mistake. The instance portal of The Drowned City now teleports you inside.
