Ten more levels. Stuck at level 20 since the doors opened on September 17, characters in the WoW Forever beta will be able to climb to level 30 from Friday morning. Blizzard takes the servers down tonight to install the new build.
Maintenance tonight, back on Friday morning
The announcement comes from Kaivax, World of Warcraft community manager, on Blizzard’s US forums. The post is two sentences long. The beta goes offline for maintenance, then comes back « several hours later » with a build that « includes changes and fixes », and a level cap raised to 30.

Blizzard also posted a European version of the message, with the timing for players in Europe. Servers close this Thursday, October 1, in the evening (CEST) and reopen early in the morning of Friday, October 2. Blizzard has not given an exact time.
Changes still under wraps
Nobody knows what these changes are yet. Kaivax points to the beta development notes thread, which will be updated tomorrow. That same thread covered the September 24 patch, the one that adjusted all nine classes and removed three talents.
If talents move again, builds planned for level 30 will need another look. Our WoW Forever talent calculator mirrors the in-game trees, and our class pages, like the one on the warrior and its modified spells, list what already differs from Classic.
Level 30 until the beta ends
This cap will not move again. According to the beta guide published by Warcraft Tavern, the WoW Forever beta stays at level 30 until it closes on October 22. Levels 31 to 60 wait for the launch on November 4.
That leaves three weeks of testing at this tier. Enough to put the level 20-30 zones and dungeons through their paces, and for classes to show what they are worth with more talent points. Players already at level 20 just need to log back in on Friday: experience will start climbing again.
