Which WoW Forever edition should you buy? Since Blizzard’s announcement of 12 September 2026, three offers have been on sale on the Battle.net shop: the Skyborne Heroic Pack at €29.99, the Epic Pack at €59.99 and the Warcraft Forever Collection at €79.99 (VAT included, read on 26 October 2026). None of them is required to enter the game: the shop states that access is included with any active World of Warcraft subscription or game time.

What each WoW Forever edition contains
The three offers nest inside each other: the Epic Pack includes the Heroic Pack, and the Collection includes the Epic Pack. The table follows Blizzard’s pages and the shop.
| Pack | Price | What it adds | Invite-A-Friend codes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skyborne Heroic Pack | €29.99 | The Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle starting quests, early name reservation, the Cerulean Prideclaw mount, cosmetic items and housing decor | 1 |
| Skyborne Epic Pack | €59.99 | Everything in the Heroic Pack, 30 days of game time added at launch, extra tabards, pets and cosmetics, and beta access (ended on 21 October) | 3 in total |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | €79.99 | Everything in the Epic Pack, Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign, two housing decor items. On sale until 11 January 2027 | 3 in total |
Two notes from Blizzard prevent disappointment. The Cerulean Prideclaw is a ground mount: the riding skill still has to be bought in game. The housing decor only works in the housing system of modern World of Warcraft, which requires the Midnight expansion, sold separately. Before buying for the Skyborne, the WoW Forever racial abilities page lets you compare the playable peoples.
Your current WoW subscription already opens the door
On the shop page, the « subscription or game time required » notice says that access to World of Warcraft: Forever is included with any active World of Warcraft subscription or game time. A player already subscribed to the modern game therefore pays nothing more to enter on 5 November. The Epic Pack and the Collection add 30 days of game time to that account at launch; after that, a subscription or game time bought separately is still required.
For an account that is already subscribed, the Epic Pack mostly means one extra month, to weigh against its price. The beta, an advantage reserved for the Epic Pack and the Collection when they went on sale, closed on 21 October and beta characters are not kept. To compare the Epic Pack with a Heroic Pack plus a subscription, the subscription price is shown on Battle.net: it does not appear in the pages consulted for this article.
Which WoW Forever edition to buy for your profile
Which WoW Forever edition to buy depends on how you plan to use the game: the table starts from the player’s situation and gives the minimum purchase.
| Your situation | Enough to buy |
|---|---|
| You play a little and your WoW subscription is active | None: access is included from 5 November |
| You are not subscribed and just want to try it | A subscription or game time; the Epic Pack gives 30 days on top of the rest |
| You want to play a Skyborne | The Heroic Pack, the smallest offer that unlocks them |
| You want to reserve your names before launch | The Heroic Pack is enough, on the account you play with |
| You want to invite a friend | One code with the Heroic Pack, three with the Epic Pack or the Collection |
| You want Warcraft III: Reforged | The Collection, before 11 January 2027 |
| You are buying a gift | Careful: gift purchases do not come with codes |
Which WoW Forever edition to buy to reserve names? The smallest pack is enough, since Blizzard includes the reservation with any upgrade purchase. It runs from 27 October to 3 November 2026, allows up to three characters, works first come, first served and guarantees no name. Blizzard specifies that the benefit applies only to the World of Warcraft account the purchase was made on. The opening time, 6 p.m. in Paris on Tuesday 27 October, is detailed in our article on name reservation.
Invite-A-Friend codes: for whom and until when
Each eligible purchase earns one or more codes, sent by e-mail from 20 October 2026. According to the announcement, the invited person can play during launch week without a subscription or game time, but without beta access. On the Blizzard European forum thread, the page states that codes go to the Battle.net account e-mail address, that the transaction must show as complete, and that purchases made after 20 October receive their codes shortly afterwards.

Validity dates differ from one page to another. The Battle.net shop note says 5 to 11 November, the French announcement 5 to 12 November, and Blizzard’s English announcement gives the week of 4 to 11 November in US West Coast time. The safest course is to invite friends as early as possible after launch. After launch week, they will need their own subscription.
