The World of Warcraft: Forever beta opens its doors tomorrow, September 17, ahead of the full launch planned for November 4. The test client’s files have delivered raid tier armor models for the game’s 9 classes: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior. All of these sets share the same internal label, « Hyjal », which already points to a single destination: the Hyjal raid WoW Forever.
Mount Hyjal confirmed as the first 20-player raid
This label placed on the 9 sets confirms what the BlizzCon presentation had only hinted at. The Hyjal raid WoW Forever will be the first 20-player raid of this expansion. No specific item is yet associated with these sets in the beta files. The tagging suggests traditional set bonuses, with 2-piece and 4-piece thresholds, just like any classic raid tier.
The 9 classes involved confirm that the Hyjal raid WoW Forever is aimed at the entire roster, with no exception for any specialization. Players who are already preparing their character can check out a Balance Druid build guide while waiting for more leaks.
Two model qualities found in the files
Two versions of each set coexist in the beta files: high-definition « HD » models, and « SD » models with a lower polygon count, reserved for distant characters or reduced graphics settings. Early reports indicate that the difference between the two versions remains hard to spot by eye, even up close.
These models found in the beta files confirm the presence of these two graphic qualities across all the sets tied to the Hyjal raid WoW Forever. Mount Hyjal was already visible in the distance on one of the Kalimdor loading screens spotted in an earlier leak, which had already placed the zone at the center of speculation. This new leak reinforces the idea that the Hyjal raid WoW Forever will draw players’ full attention as soon as the beta opens.
