Tomorrow, September 17, the WoW Forever beta opens its doors. The game’s release is scheduled for November 4.
The beta test client has already delivered 9 loading screens. These visuals found in the beta files sketch out a good part of the map of what’s coming, ahead of any full official announcement.
Nine dungeons are planned in total for the WoW Forever beta. Two of them can already be named. The first is a dig site built on top of Whelgar’s Excavation Site, in the Wetlands, surrounded by dinosaur bones. The second revisits the Ruins of Lordaeron, with a broken gate and spiderwebs at the entrance. Three new sea routes round out this first look.
Kalimdor, Mount Hyjal, and the New Riverglades Zone
On this loading screen, Mount Hyjal appears in the distance, overlooking Kalimdor. On the right side of the image, Riverglades can be made out, a new zone accessible via a brand-new sea route from Steamwheedle Port.
Mount Hyjal will host the WoW Forever beta’s first 20-player raid, information already known before these screens surfaced. Players already gearing up their character for this kind of content can check out our Holy Paladin PvE build guide.
Eastern Kingdoms, Between Ruins and Ports
The Eastern Kingdoms loading screen shows Karazhan, with Blackrock Mountain just to the northwest and Dalaran visible in the distance. On the coast, Stormwind sends several ships off.
A new seaport, Stormwind Harbor, will carry players to Auberdine. This route adds to those already announced for the WoW Forever beta and confirms how important sea travel is in this expansion.
Zephras Isle, Home of the Skyborne
Zephras Isle is the new starting zone for this expansion’s brand-new playable people, the Skyborne. The loading screen highlights the architecture unique to this zone, very different from the rest of the continent.
This zone marks the arrival of a new playable people in the WoW Forever beta, alongside the already-known races.

Dalaran and Its New Dungeon
The Dalaran loading screen shows the Purple Citadel, standing right in the middle of the city. A new dungeon called City of Dalaran places players alongside the Kirin Tor, tasked with retaking control of the city.
This dungeon adds to the nine already announced for the WoW Forever beta. Groups looking to prepare for it can already check out our PvE build guides, like the Guardian Druid or the Arms Warrior.
Darkspear Islands, the WoW Forever Beta’s New Battleground
Darkspear Islands is a new 15-versus-15 battleground. The loading screen shows a bridge leading to the island, with an airship visible in the background.
The WoW Forever beta is also introducing an updated seasonal PvP system, whose exact details haven’t been confirmed yet. PvP-focused players can already take a look at our Arms Warrior PvP build guide while waiting for more details.
