Lost in Horror Challenge

A literal test of survival! You’ll gain a hunger and thirst bar, and if either reach 100 stacks, you’ll die.

WeakAura and Tips

Very useful WA. It pings you when above 50 stacks of Thirst and Hunger + Icon when your chalice is empty.

Always send your pet to take aggro and enable its Taunt ability!
Save all the meat/food/water that mobs drop!
You cannot fill your Chalice from oceans!
Always be mindful if your Chalice is full and refill it after each drink (drink near rivers)!
One drink from the Chalice recovers you from 75 stacks to 0!
Eat your best food when on 50 or more stacks!
If you are on low Food stacks, but you have to drink, eat low level food to sustain low Hunger stacks!
If you are using the Hunter build don’t forget to spend Pet Talent points by right-clicking your pets portrait -> Pet Talents , i suggest 30% Attack Speed, Charge, More healing, Movement Speed

Aura of experience and Potions of experience

From my testing you can recieve Aura and Potions from mail before and after you start the challenge, only when they are bought from the Launcher Store.
What i did is, I completed the Account setup on https://ascension.gg/user/account-overview , which gave me White LP coins and used those to buy 3 Soulbound Potions of Experience
Bought Aura for DP.

Preparation

Buy a Book of Artisans and Stone of Retreat: Stormwind on your main character from Auction House and learn them.
Create a Human character and log onto it.
Prepare your WeakAura and UI.
Get your Heirlooms from N -> Vanity -> Heirlooms (DO NOT SEND FROM OTHER CHARACTER)
Send your Aura and Pots(I recommend 3 Pots, but u can always get more even after you start the challenge.)

Builds

I used hqf’s Beast Master Ranger Build. Using a pet and buffing it’s damage with Hunter and Shaman abilities.

Primary stat: Agility

Starter abilities:
Tame Beast, Earth Shock, Auto Shot, Slice and Dice

Carded abilities:
Mend Pet, Locust Shot, Frenzy Shot, Last one can be any defensive one, I used Into Darkness and it saved my life 3 times, Vanish is also good.

Talent abilities:
Double team, Mental Quickness 5/5, Compound Power
Tesla Coil Colar, Pack Tactics, Bestial Discipline

A friend used this:

Primary stat: Intellect

Starter abilities:
Lightning Bolt, Blessing of Wisdom, Ice armor , Arcane intellect

Carded abilities:
Summon Voidwalker, Ice/Frost Shock
Energy Bolt, Soul link

Carded talents:
Storm Surge, Stormbringer, Lightning Overload
Lightning Mastery, Elemental Fury, Infused Energy

Start

Start the Trial.
Take all quests and train First Aid and Cooking from your Book of Artisans.
Start killing wolves for the meat.
I suggest farming at least 2 stacks.
Make only 5 of the Charred Wolf Meat and then train Spiced Wolf Meat and make as much as you can.
Complete the starter zone.
Sell some of the items you get from Adventurer’s Cache and buy four 8 slot bags from Dermot Johns and save 3 gold and 50 silver for mount training.
Save 10 Linen Cloth.
Exiting the starter zone take the Rest and Relaxation quest and for reward choose Refreshing Spring Water and save it!

Goldshire

Train your mount and take all quests.
If you are low on food keep killing wolfs and making Spiced Wolf Meat.
Complete most of the easy quests in Elwynn Forest.
Be careful with the Kobold Mine, if there are no mobs or corpses, they will be respawning shortly so wait for respawns first!
You can use MASTERO’s route.
If you have food problems you can check Westfall segment and farm the recipe to make next tier of food then come back to Elwynn.

Westfall

After finishing most of the quests in Elwynn Forest you should be around 45 level.
Take and complete Westfall Stew quest line from Verna Furlbrow at Westfall Entrance
Farm enough reagents for atleast 3 stacks of Westfall Stew
While farming you can complete other easy Westfall quests like Killing Fields
While killing murlocs for the eyes, save 8 Murloc Fins for Murloc Poachers quest in Redrige
After farming the Westfall Stew stacks you should be around 50 level
Use Stone of Retreat: Stormwind or Scroll of Retreat: Stormwind you can find the Stone in your Spellbook under the Ascension Vanity Items tab, Scroll from N -> Vanity

Stormwind

Go to Kendor Kabonka in Old Town Stormwind and buy Recipe: Curiously Tasty Omelet , Recipe: Crocolisk Gumbo , Recipe: Seasoned Wolf Kabob
Turn in all complete quests in Stormwind and start heading to Stranglethorn. If you’re low on food or you need skill for cooking, you can complete
Wolves at Our Heels from
Lars and use the Lean Wolf Flanks to make Seasoned Wolf Kabob

Stranglethorn

Go to Nesingwary’s Expedition camp
Buy Recipe: Roast Raptor and Recipe: Jungle Stew from Corporal Bluth
Start killing all raptors and making better food.
Complete Panther, Tiger and Raptor quests.
You should be 60 by the time you’re done with those, if not just go to Redridge Mountains and complete Murloc Poachers , Hilary’s Necklace , The Lost Tools , An Unwelcome Guest
