Over 110 million votes were counted for six heroes, and Nurse Harrow finished last. She still filled the game: more than 279,000 players connected at the same time at her launch. A vote ranking and a turnout that point in opposite directions, for the sixth and final heroine of Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps update.
110 million votes, and a last place that was not that far off
The figures come from Valve, relayed by GosuGamers (Sarah « KZ » Zulkiflee, October 21). The event drew 110 million votes, nearly double the 60.8 million of the previous update, Old Gods, New Blood. The heroes were released in this order: Rat King, Baba, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Violet, then Nurse Harrow.

Harrow was the last option left in the final round, according to PC Gamer (Elie Gould). Her base of supporters is real: 22,194 players voted only for her. Valve notes that « one player cast exactly 1,000 votes for her ». The closest contest of the event did not involve Harrow: Baba beat Solomon by 0.5% of the votes, as we reported in our article on Baba.
Another Valve statistic, quoted by PC Gamer: « Nurse Harrow voters consistently proved to have a higher win rate over all other hero voters. » Shacknews (TJ Denzer, October 20) words it differently: her voters have the best win rate of the six heroes of the event. This is the rate of those who voted for her, not her own.

A peak above 279,000 players, second of the series
The concurrent player peak rose with every release. GosuGamers gives the sequence: 228,086 at the update’s launch, a few hundred more with Rat King, 236,730 with Baba, over 262,000 with Solomon, about 7,000 more with Deadman Danny. Violet crossed 300,000 with 303,347, a record for the game, the week before. Harrow did not reach that level, but « more than 279,000 players » came during her launch, again according to GosuGamers. Only that outlet confirms this figure: SteamDB, which tracks it, is closed to our tools.
Our reading: the vote ranking does not predict turnout. The least-voted heroine drew more people than Rat King, Baba and Solomon at their launch. The sources do not say why, and the general rise since the start of the event probably explains it. For Violet, we had already measured a start at a 42.4% win rate.
Nurse Harrow’s kit, ability by ability
Shacknews reproduces the in-game description, and GosuGamers summarizes it the same way. Harrow is a support heroine armed with a syringe. Her four abilities and their effects:
- Leech Therapy: a jar of leeches attaches to enemies. They deal Spirit damage over time and shorten their buffs. Once fed, Harrow picks them up to heal herself and permanently gain regeneration and fire rate.
- Wretched Vapors: a vial cracked on herself or an ally triggers a rush, then a crash. During the rush, all actions are faster and incoming damage is numbed. At the end, actions are slowed and the delayed damage lands, with extra damage on top.
- Healing Needles: her weapon fires syringes that heal allies. Dealing damage restores charges, and each leech collected slowly restores more.
- Lurking Terrors: her bag releases its horrors, dealing Spirit damage over time in front of her. Enemies who look at her build up terror and can no longer use stamina or movement abilities. At maximum terror, they flee. Each leech collected lengthens the fear.

When to play her: it all runs through the leeches
Read the kit and one point keeps coming back: the leeches feed three abilities out of four. They heal her and raise her regeneration, restore her syringe charges and extend the fear of her ultimate. Our reading, deduced from the texts and not tested in a game: she is worth the most when she can place her leeches on enemies who stay in range long enough for them to feed, then collect them. Without that, her healing and her fear run at half speed.
Wretched Vapors demands game reading. The rush speeds up and protects, but the crash slows and hands back the damage with a surcharge. The vial therefore suits an ally who engages and finishes her action before the crash, not someone who still has to hold a fight.
How to counter her
Again according to the descriptions, terror builds when you look at her, and it cuts stamina and movement abilities. A team that stays in her line of sight loses the means to escape before the forced flight. Breaking line of sight, with a wall corner for example, avoids the buildup. The leeches shorten the duration of buffs: a long buff is worth less against her. Finally, the crash of Wretched Vapors slows the targeted ally, a moment when they are easy to hit. None of this is measured in game.
Her win rate is not readable. We checked the Deadlock API without finding the heroine with a usable sample, and we do not give it. For comparison, Rat King started at 61% and Deadman Danny at 27.9%, two gaps measured in our earlier articles.
