A bench, a cup of tea and a flock of birds: the second heroine of the City Never Sleeps update looks nothing like any other Deadlock shooter. Baba launched on October 6, 2026. Here is where Baba Deadlock stands two days after release: what her kit does, what her first numbers say, what time the next hero arrives in France and who is still in the running.
Rat King was the first through the door, and the October 6 article on Rat King’s 61% win rate already announced this date. Since then, the full schedule has gone public. The update itself had passed 228,000 concurrent players on Steam.
What Baba does, from her bench to her birds
The Deadlock Wiki entry describes her as an old woman whom tourists take for a harmless park regular, sitting on her bench drinking tea and talking to her birds. Locals suspect something stronger is brewing beneath the surface. The wiki adds that she launched on October 6, 2026, “as the second winner of the City Never Sleeps update contest”.

Her four abilities, according to the wiki:
- Threadsap: a chaotic spool of thread that steals enemies’ minds and powers Baba up.
- Granny Long Legs: her bench creaks to life, and she runs, jumps and strikes with it.
- Baba’s Brew: brews that splash the area, some far sweeter than others.
- Feed The Birds: when tea time is over, the birds come out to play.
Her weapon fires 3 pellets (projectiles shot together) of 8.8 damage each, with 15 ammo, 3.23 bullets per second and a 2.5-second reload. The total comes to 28.4 damage per second, a modest figure for a shooter. The kit relies on its abilities, not its gun.
Baba Deadlock: a first win rate of 43.8%
DeadlockLABS shows Baba at a 43.8% win rate in her first online games. That is far from the 61.40% Tracklock gave Rat King on October 5. The two figures come from different sites and different time windows: the gap is an indication, not a measurement comparable to the decimal.
A new hero often wins on surprise, since opponents don’t know the kit. Baba doesn’t benefit, which suggests her kit takes time to learn. This sample mixes all ranks, yet the question matters most in ranked mode. That per-rank breakdown is still missing.
The next four releases, all at 11 p.m. in Paris
According to Deadlock Tracker (article from October 1, updated on the evening of October 6), Valve releases a hero every Tuesday and Friday from October 2 to 20, at 2 p.m. Pacific time. Rat King opened on October 2 with “59% on night one”, then Baba followed on schedule on the 6th. In October, 2 p.m. Pacific is 11 p.m. Paris time. Europe switches to winter time on October 25, after the last release, so French time doesn’t change until then.
- 3rd hero: Friday, October 9, 11 p.m. Paris time
- 4th hero: Tuesday, October 13, 11 p.m.
- 5th hero: Friday, October 16, 11 p.m.
- 6th hero: Tuesday, October 20, 11 p.m.

That last date remains conditional: the site writes “if the pace holds” for October 20. For Friday the 9th, it gives 10 p.m. in London and 11 p.m. in Paris.
Who is still in the running, and where the vote stands
In the September 30 guide, XC Enriquez (esports.gg) presents the six City Never Sleeps heroes: Nurse Harrow, Deadman Danny, Baba, Solomon, Rat King and Violet. The vote takes place in the pre-match lobby. With Rat King and Baba out, four remain: Solomon, Nurse Harrow, Deadman Danny and Violet.

Valve publishes no official tally. DeadlockLABS runs its own poll and puts Solomon in front, at 28% of 2,867 votes. That poll only represents the site’s voters, but if it reflected the in-game vote, Solomon would arrive on Friday. Nothing confirms it yet.
The October 6 patch rebalances Rat King and Sinclair
According to Deadlock One, the October 6 update buffs Rat King’s base spells and nerfs its ultimate. Scrap Grenade goes from 65 to 70 damage and Rat Swarm from a 28-second to a 24-second cooldown. On the other side, the ultimate Rule, Ratannia! goes from a 130-second to a 160-second cooldown, from 20% to 15% damage reduction and from a 24 to a 20 meter radius. Another tweak: the base health regeneration of Sinclair drops from 2 to 1, and troopers no longer walk too slowly down the lanes.
