ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM PALADIN
Blessed Hammer Paladin Build Overview
This
Blessed Hammer Paladin build by @Rob2628 is an exceptionally tanky T7 Boss killer. With roughly 13,000 to 15,000 health in combat and permanent Fortify, you can absorb nearly every Boss mechanic without actively dodging.
The build relies on three mythic items:
Heir of Perdition for raw damage,
Argent Veil for the evade cycle that spawns hammers, and the
Ring of Starless Skies for cost reduction. The gameplay consists of activating Avatar of Justice, then alternating evade and
Blessed Hammer: each evade spawns two additional hammers thanks to
Argent Veil, creating a swarm of projectiles that deal massive damage while healing through life-on-hit.
Fortify comes from the pants: each heal above maximum life converts into Fortify. Combined with 100% block via the In Guard tempering and the
Resolve stacks from the
Courage passive, this build reaches a level of survivability that lets you chain T7 Bosses without ever returning to town.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Exceptional survivability — absorb T7 Boss mechanics without needing to dodge
- Massive damage through fast Ascendancy stacking via the
Disciple oath - Chain Bosses without returning to town thanks to permanent Avatar of Justice uptime
- Full screen AoE coverage, speed variant viable for Pits
Cons
- Requires three specific mythic items to function
- About 20 seconds of ramp-up time for Ascendancy stacks
- The evade-hammer cycle demands a sustained playstyle
Recommended Gear
Table de Loot
Heir of Perdition is the go-to helmet for Boss killing, offering a damage and critical chance boost far above any alternative. For speed Pit runs, the
Godslayer Crown replaces it, granting critical chance stacks per kill streak to compensate for the loss of fixed stats.
The
Shroud of False Death at rank 4 on the chest is the key defensive piece: it generates a stack of
Resolve every 4 seconds near an elite, granting 20% damage reduction and a damage multiplier via Right of the Spirit. Pants with Fortify on every heal above maximum life are mandatory. Combined with hammers that provide life-on-hit permanently, they keep Fortify fully topped up at all times.
The shield carries Aspect of Ascendancy and a large damage reduction roll. The
Herald's Morningstar weapon provides the biggest damage multiplier for
Blessed Hammer. Masterwork damage reduction on the shield in priority.
Boots mandatorily need evade cooldown reduction and Avatar of Justice duration: aim for 60 seconds of duration for a 49-second cooldown, guaranteeing permanent uptime.
The amulet carries
Aspect of Holy Punishment for the DPS boost while in Avatar form. The
Ring of Starless Skies reduces skill cost, essential to maintain the evade-hammer cycle. For gems, use an emerald for Bal'ile (poison), a ruby for the Butcher, and adapt the third gem to the Boss (topaz for lightning, etc.).
For runes, the
Cem +
Mot combination provides massive defense on every evade.
Ceh offers more DPS but causes resource problems.
Zan is recommended for the speed variant.
Build Variants
This build offers two main configurations:
Boss Killer (default): The configuration presented above, with
Heir of Perdition and the
Mot rune. Extremely tanky, capable of farming every T7 Boss solo while chaining keys without returning to town. This is the recommended version for loot and fresh meat farming.
Speed (Pits): Replace
Heir of Perdition with the
Godslayer Crown and the
Mot rune with
Zan. Add the
Exploit glyph on one of the Paragon boards to make enemies vulnerable instantly. With these two changes, the build clears Pit 100 runs in about 90 seconds. The
Godslayer Crown grants critical chance stacks per kill streak, so make sure you have at least 84% base crit chance to compensate for the loss of
Heir of Perdition.
You can also invest additional points into
Press the Advantage if you lack survivability, at the expense of Avatar of Justice duration.
Gameplay Tips
Base cycle: Activate Avatar of Justice, then alternate spacebar (evade) and
Blessed Hammer continuously. Each evade spawns two hammers via
Argent Veil, and each manually cast hammer resets the evade cooldown thanks to the weapon's implicit. This cycle creates a permanent double-dip of hammers.
Boss chaining: The key to efficiency is never returning to town. With 60 seconds of Avatar duration and a 49-second cooldown, uptime is permanent. Recast Avatar of Justice as soon as it's available between Bosses to retain your Avatar (50) and Ascendancy (7) stacks.
Before the Boss: Make sure you have 50 Avatar stacks and ideally 7 Ascendancy stacks before engaging. Ascendancy stacks build up very quickly thanks to the
Disciple oath: simply cast
Condemn and the stacks pile up in about 20 seconds.
Positioning: Place the Boss at the center of your zone and evade through it. Keep your mouse cursor on the Boss so the rune procs directly on it. This technique maximizes damage while maintaining the life-on-hit cycle.
Adaptive gems: Keep an emerald for Bal'ile, a ruby for the Butcher, and swap the third gem based on the Boss. For the lightning Boss, a topaz or a lightning resistance gem eliminates nearly all risk.
Arbre des Talents
Mercenaire
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon boards prioritize
Shield Bearer for 110% defense, and
Judicator for its x20 multiplier against Bosses and x10 with
Relentless, even without judicator skills equipped. These two boards are the most important for Boss killing.
The starting board is pushed to the maximum in armor and resistances. The
Beacon board completes the setup. For the speed variant, the
Exploit glyph is essential: it
Rends vulnerable enemies instantly, considerably accelerating Pit clears.
Evade-Hammer Cycle
The evade-hammer cycle is the heart of the gameplay. Thanks to the weapon's implicit (1.9s reduction) and the 3-second aspect on the shield, you can chain evade then
Blessed Hammer then evade in a loop with no downtime. Each evade during Avatar spawns 2 hammers via
Argent Veil, and each manually cast hammer resets the evade cooldown. This double-dip creates a massive amount of projectiles for both damage AND survivability (life-on-hit converted into Fortify via the pants).
Boss Chaining (Town is Lava)
To maximize efficiency, keep Avatar of Justice active between Bosses. With 60 seconds of duration for a 49-second cooldown, uptime is permanent as long as you recast Avatar of Justice as soon as it's available. Before each Boss, make sure you have 50 Avatar stacks and 7 Ascendancy stacks. The
Disciple oath combined with
Condemn and Avatar of Justice stack Ascendancy in about 20 seconds. This technique avoids the ramp-up phase on every new Boss and allows you to retain over 4 million fresh meat per session.
