ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM PALADIN
Build Overview
Rob2628's Zeal Paladin "Spin2Win" is a physical damage build that achieves the closest thing to a spin-to-win playstyle on the Paladin. Armed with a two-handed sword, the
Red Sermon, this build chains
Zeal with dodges via the
Argent Veil, creating a devastating whirlwind of afterimages that shred everything in their path.
The defining feature of this build is its life-spending mechanic instead of traditional resource usage, thanks to the
Death or Glory rune embedded in the
Red Sermon. Every hit from
Zeal costs life but instantly regenerates it through the weapon's massive life-per-hit and the numerous strikes generated by afterimages. Despite having no shield, the build reaches 100% block chance thanks to the Endgard Tempering, letting the Paladin block every incoming attack with a two-handed sword.
Extremely agile and capable of hitting for billions of damage, this build excels at both group clearing and single-target, capable of clearing a Pit 100 in under 40 seconds.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
- Ultra-smooth spin-to-win gameplay with permanent Dodge + Zeal chaining
- Massive DPS with billions of burst damage thanks to afterimages
- 100% block chance despite the two-handed weapon thanks to Endgard
- Excellent at both single-target and area clearing
- Spectacular visuals with the Red Sermon and its red afterimage trails
Weaknesses
- More fragile than shield builds — requires active life management
- Requires the mythic
Shroud of False Death to function at full capacity - Life spending is dangerous if you swing at empty air without hitting enemies
Recommended Equipment
Table de Loot
The
Red Sermon is the absolute cornerstone of this build. This legendary two-handed sword transforms your
Zeal by applying the
Death or Glory rune that spends life instead of resources, while offering a massive 180x multiplier, 10 Zealot skill charges, and doubled damage for
Zeal. The integrated life-per-hit compensates for the life expenditure during combat.
In the helmet slot, the
Godslayer Crown pulls enemies toward you through the curse triggered on dodge via the
Argent Veil, creating dense packs ideal for area clearing. For Bosses, swap it for
Heir of Perdition to maximize single-target damage.
The
Shroud of False Death in the chest slot is the key mythic of this build, providing the survivability needed for the aggressive two-handed playstyle. The
Aspect of the Zealot's Covenant in the pants provides a 120x multiplier with
Zeal and increases maximum Fervor charges. Combined with the exceptional gloves that double Zealot skill damage when Fervor charges are active, the set creates a virtuous cycle of power scaling.
The
Argent Veil boots are essential: each dodge automatically triggers your Zealot skill, enabling the signature spin-to-win gameplay. The
Aspect of Celestial Strife amulet and the Let No One Doubt belt round out the build with extra fortify and even more afterimages. The
Bac and Quax runes in the weapons exploit the no-resource-spent mechanic to double damage while moving.
Build Variants
Boss Variant: Swap the
Godslayer Crown for
Heir of Perdition to maximize single-target damage. Also switch the combination rune to Khal the Wicked, which provides a 25x multiplier against weakened enemies — perfectly synergistic with
Consecration.
Defensive Variant (Hardcore): If you play Hardcore or find the build too fragile, swap the
Red Sermon for a Griswald with an additional shield. You lose the spectacular spin-to-win gameplay but gain significantly in survivability. In this case, do not push beyond Pit 200.
Non-Mythic Variant: Without the
Shroud of False Death, use the barrier with Sobrand to compensate for the lack of survivability. This version is viable but noticeably less comfortable than the full mythic version.
Gameplay Tips
Basic Rotation: Activate
Arbiter, then cast
Condemn,
Defiance Aura,
Enhanced Fanaticism, and
Consecration at the start of combat. Then hold
Zeal and alternate with dodge: Zeal → Dodge → Zeal → Dodge. Each dodge resets and triggers your
Zeal thanks to the
Argent Veil.
Life Management: Your
Zeal spends life with every attack via the
Death or Glory rune. It is critical to always hit enemies to regenerate your life instantly through life-per-hit. If you swing at empty air, your life drops quickly. Always keep your potion ready for emergencies between packs.
Arbiter Uptime: Monitor your
Arbiter duration (approximately 54 seconds uptime for 33 seconds of cooldown). Reactivate it as soon as it expires to maintain the build's passive bonuses. The cooldown reduction on attacks Tempering on the boots helps maintain near-permanent uptime.
Shieldless Block: Thanks to the Endgard Tempering on the pants (or amulet), you reach 100% block chance without a shield. Check your character sheet to confirm this value is at 100%. This lets you benefit from the
Defiance Aura talent that grants fortify on every block.
Arbre des Talents
Mercenaire
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon setup for this build revolves around five key boards. The
Spirit board is the starting point, followed by the Ship board for its bonuses. The
Castle board provides the necessary defensive solidity, while the
Shield Bearer board offers exceptional synergies with block chance (even without a shield). Finally, the
Arbiter board is used primarily for the Clo node and its 18x multiplier, essential for the build's damage output.
The
Feverous glyph is critical thanks to Fervor charges: it grants one additional maximum stack (total of 4), a 20x and 10x multiplier, plus a massive amount of additive damage. The
Exploit glyph is recommended for speed farming as it
Rends everything vulnerable instantly. For higher Pits, consider
Outmatch or
Challenger for more raw DPS. The
Relentless glyph rounds out the setup with constant additive damage.
Dodge + Zeal Mechanic: the Spin-to-Win
The core of this build rests on the interaction between the
Argent Veil and
Zeal. Every dodge automatically triggers your assigned Zealot skill, meaning you can maintain a continuous Zeal → Dodge → Zeal cycle without ever stopping. The afterimages generated by the
Red Sermon and Let No One Doubt keep hitting even after you pass through, creating a devastating spin-to-win effect.
This mechanic is amplified by support skills:
Consecration permanently weakens enemies,
Condemn pulls them toward you, and the
Arbiter with
Seraph's Wings
Rends everything vulnerable thanks to the 5 invested points. The Gathered Guilty synergy further reinforces this effect, making this build a debuff-applying machine that simultaneously deals colossal damage.
