LEVELING | ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM ROGUE
Build Overview
The
Heartseeker Rogue build in its Orphan's Maker variant is currently the strongest Rogue build in Season 12. Designed by @wudijo, this setup relies on a precise four-skill combo that deals astronomical damage in the trillions with a single shot. The heartseeker rogue build reached Pit 109 in Hardcore (rank 1 on the leaderboard) and can be pushed up to around Pit 115 in the hands of the best players.
Unlike the classic "hold right click"
Heartseeker variant, this build uses a rhythmic combo-based playstyle:
Flurry →
Concealment →
Shadow Clone →
Heartseeker, repeated every two seconds or so.
Shadow Clone benefits from a massive damage multiplier through its interaction with Orphan's Maker, turning each shot into a nuclear bomb that clears the entire screen through Pain Gorger marking.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
- Colossal damage: capable of one-shotting entire screens thanks to the
Shadow Clone + Pain Gorger combo - Excellent for high-level pushing with potential up to Pit 115+
- 100% guaranteed critical strike via Concealment, with no crit stats required on gear
- Solid mobility thanks to automatic Dash and Concealment resets via
Shadow Clone
Weaknesses
- Combo-based playstyle (4 buttons in sequence) that requires an adjustment period and muscle memory
- Not a "hold right click" build: requires precise timing execution between
Shadow Clone and Heartseeker - Dependent on resource management and
Shadow Clone cooldown management to maintain the rhythm
Recommended Equipment
Table de Loot
Orphan's Maker is the cornerstone of the build. This unique crossbow puts
Heartseeker into a "reload" mode after each shot, but in return,
Shadow Clone benefits from a massive damage multiplier (around x10) on its first attack. This interaction is what turns each combo into a devastating nuke.
Shard of Arafel provides a significant boost to raw damage and remains essential to reach the build's maximum potential.
Crown of Lucion in the helmet slot is preferred over any other unique: its 7 charges at 15% damage each represent more than double the damage when ramped, while also providing cooldown reduction and life. The additional primary resource cost is not an issue since the build doesn't spam
Heartseeker.
Umber's Breeches in the pants slot provides noticeable quality of life by automatically triggering
Dark Shroud without needing to place it on the skill bar. For a more aggressive push setup,
Tibault's Will can be used for additional damage and resource bonuses.
The
Aspect of Adaptability on the amulet is extremely powerful here: with around 270 stacked resources thanks to
Momentum, the damage bonus exceeds a triple multiplier. The Cold Clip aspect guarantees automatic application of
Cold Imbuement on every
Heartseeker shot, hence the characteristic blue projectiles of this build.
Build Variants
The main variant for the build concerns the pants slot: Umber's Breeches for comfort and survivability (auto-cast
Dark Shroud, life bonus, damage through Dexterity and
Heartseeker ranks), or
Tibault's Will for a more aggressive push-oriented setup with greater damage and extra resources.
For speed farming at lower tiers, a
Harlequin Crest can replace
Crown of Lucion if you prefer massive cooldown reduction and increased survivability. However, for any serious content (Pit 90+),
Crown of Lucion remains far superior thanks to its unmatched multiplicative scaling.
Regarding Tempering, if the
Shadow Clone cooldown is not yet low enough (target: around 16 seconds), double the cooldown Temper on the weapon instead of a resource restoration Temper. Once your gear is optimized with a Greater Affix on the
Shadow Clone cooldown Temper, a single Temper is enough and the second can be allocated to resource restoration.
Gameplay Tips
The basic combo is simple to memorize:
Flurry (1) →
Concealment (2) →
Shadow Clone (3) →
Heartseeker (4). Repeat this cycle in a loop. The key is to fire
Heartseeker immediately after
Shadow Clone to benefit from Orphan's Maker's x10 multiplier — wait too long and the bonus disappears.
Flurry serves three functions: stacking
Momentum charges, generating energy, and most importantly spending all resources at once to trigger Preparation (225 energy spent = -15 seconds on
Shadow Clone cooldown).
Concealment provides guaranteed critical strike, Vulnerability on enemies, and 40 additional energy.
Shadow Clone doesn't just shoot: it automatically applies Pain Gorger marking in a wide radius around your character. You don't need to aim precisely — hit a single marked enemy and the entire group explodes. After a few minutes of practice, muscle memory sets in and the combo becomes natural.
Arbre des Talents
Mercenaire
Paragon and Glyphs
The build's Paragon boards are oriented toward maximizing
Heartseeker and
Shadow Clone damage. Priority Glyphs are those that amplify basic skill damage and conditional multipliers tied to Vulnerability and critical strikes — two mechanics the build triggers reliably on every combo via
Concealment.
Cooldown reduction through Paragon nodes is also valuable for maintaining combo rhythm. Every second gained on
Shadow Clone cooldown directly translates to more combos per minute and therefore higher sustained damage.
Skill Rotation and Combo
The optimal rotation breaks down as follows: start with
Flurry to stack
Momentum up to 9-10 charges and accumulate your resources beyond 225 energy. Follow up with
Concealment which activates the crit guarantee and Vulnerability. Immediately cast
Shadow Clone then fire
Heartseeker right after to benefit from Orphan's Maker's x10 multiplier.
After the shot,
Flurry spends all your resources at once thanks to Umber's Breeches, which triggers Preparation and resets
Shadow Clone cooldown. The cycle restarts immediately. Each
Shadow Clone activation also resets
Dash and
Concealment, ensuring constant mobility even in prolonged combat.
Resource and Cooldown Management
The goal is to reach around 16 seconds of cooldown on
Shadow Clone so that Preparation can reset it in a single 225 energy spend. To achieve this, stack cooldown reduction on jewelry (rings + amulet), the
Shadow Clone cooldown Temper on the weapon (ideally with a Greater Affix for 39.4% after Masterworking), and take advantage of
Crown of Lucion's natural reduction.
The key passive
Momentum increases your maximum energy and resource generation, making it easier to reach the required 225.
Concealment restores 40 energy on activation. The "Casting an Ultimate restores resources" Temper on the weapon and the Umber's Breeches bonus (25 energy per cooldown used) complete the regeneration cycle. The
Vex rune can provide additional cooldown reduction for builds still in the optimization phase.
