⚠️ Build PTR — Serveur de test
Ce build a été testé uniquement sur le serveur de test (PTR) et peut subir des modifications majeures lors de la sortie officielle.
Build Overview
The Burning Charge Barbarian is one of the surprises of the Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo IV: a skill long relegated to a mobility tool becomes here a genuine damage engine. Thanks to the Burning archetype introduced with the expansion,
Charge now leaves a trail of flames in its wake, dealing damage over time to everything caught in it. This build, designed by snail4551 on Maxroll, relies entirely on stacking Damage over Time multipliers and duration rather than on direct hits, with a spectacular finisher:
Shattered Vow instantly executes any target whose health bar is fully covered by Burning. The concept is simple to grasp, but it requires a specific piece of gear to become playable, making this a build best reserved for players ready to farm the key item before diving in.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths
- Mobility and area damage combined:
Charge moves the Barbarian while setting the ground ablaze along the way. - Instant execution of Burning-saturated targets thanks to
Shattered Vow. - Powerful scaling driven by Damage over Time multipliers and duration.
- Solid survivability thanks to the Shouts (
War Cry,
Challenging Shout,
Rallying Cry) and
Iron Skin. - Straightforward gameplay, built around continuous movement rather than a complex rotation.
Weaknesses
- Fully dependent on
Chainscourged Mail: without it,
Charge remains locked behind a 17-second cooldown. - Requires several unique and mythic items before becoming fully functional.
- Demands mastering Charge's travel distance to maximize Burning damage.
- Not very effective until the mythic Horadric Seal and the talisman are obtained.
Recommended Equipment
Loot Table
The whole build revolves around a single mandatory piece:
Chainscourged Mail, without which
Charge is condemned to a 17-second cooldown and becomes unplayable. Once this unique pair of pants is secured, the goal is to complete the set with
Shattered Vow, the mythic two-handed weapon that extends Burning duration and allows executing fully afflicted targets.
Rage of Harrogath reduces cooldowns with every point of Burning damage dealt,
Fists of Fate provides a sizeable damage multiplier once obtained in its mythic version, and
Ramaladni's Magnum Opus multiplies damage based on maximum Fury, which sits around 240 points on this setup.
On the aspect side,
Wanton Rupture Aspect and Cut to the Bone Aspect directly boost Damage over Time, while Crushing Aspect and
Conceited Aspect add multipliers conditioned on Fortify and Barrier.
Aspect of Overheating and
Aspect of Anger Management round out the kit by boosting Fire damage and maintaining the Berserking state. The full plan offers four progression profiles — starter, midgame, Endgame and Pit-pushing — directly accessible from the interactive grid above.
Chainscourged Mail ↔ near-total removal of
Charge's cooldown, without which the skill remains unusable.
Shattered Vow ↔ instant execution as soon as a target is fully covered in Burning.- Writhing Aspect ↔ damage multiplier that climbs with fight duration, decisive against Bosses.
Horadric Seal S15
The mythic Horadric Seal Seal of the Diamond Mind lets you combine 4 pieces of the Sescheron's Fury set and 2 pieces of Berserker's Crucible across the six available charm slots, prioritizing Brawling skills followed by Fire or Lightning resistance.
Gameplay Tips
To get the most out of the Burning Charge Barbarian, the launch distance matters as much as the skill itself: aiming for a mid-length trajectory, rather than charging point-blank, lets the flame trail deal its full Damage over Time potential — charging at point-blank range sharply reduces Burning's effectiveness.
Rallying Cry should be refreshed roughly every four seconds to maintain movement speed and remove the Fury cost of other skills, while
War Cry and
Challenging Shout are cast as soon as they're available, respectively boosting damage and absorbing incoming damage spikes. The combo that closes the rotation remains
Shattered Vow: as soon as a target's health bar is entirely covered in Burning, the execution triggers automatically. At the highest Pit tiers, the push profile swaps certain aspects for Writhing Aspect, whose multiplier climbs with fight duration — a particularly profitable choice against Bosses and in prolonged fights.
Talent Tree
The allocation prioritizes nodes that support
Charge and the Berserking state:
Wrath of the Berserker delivers a one-time damage spike despite its long cooldown, while
Iron Skin increases maximum life and inflicts Weaken on enemies who hit the Barbarian. The interactive tree below details the full point allocation for each build variant.
Mercenary S15
As the primary mercenary, Subo reveals the map through his Tracking passive, and his
Snipe paired with
Scorched Earth increases Burning damage dealt on impact.
As the reinforcement, Varyana grants a temporary attack speed boost through her
Bloodthirst, a welcome addition to speed up the cadence of the Shouts and Charge.
Paragon
Glyph leveling priority follows the order
Brawl, Exploit,
Undaunted,
Executioner and
Disembowel, an order designed to stabilize Burning damage before investing in survivability. This combination of boards is what closes the loop for the Burning Charge Barbarian and allows you to progressively push higher Pit tiers once the Endgame gear is assembled.
