LEVELING | ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM BARBARE
Whirlwind Barbarian Speed Farm Build Overview
The Whirlwind Barbarian speed farm build is back in Season 15 with a simple promise: spin, teleport and stop dying. This is the immortal version @Rob2628 shows in his video, with a character that moves at absurd speed. Two brand-new runewords do most of the work: Spirit grants a huge pool of resources, and Insight provides Fury generation that never stops, even while monsters are hitting you.
Rob says he can stand still in the middle of hordes or in front of a Boss without anything getting through. With Enigma, you teleport and whirl in the same motion, and Evade never runs dry thanks to roughly 800 resources. The gameplay loop fits in four words: teleport, spin, teleport, spin.
The build does not try to compete on damage with push setups. Rob describes it as a relaxed farming tool, made for Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons and Bosses. On a character with about six hours played, glyphs around level 90 and gear far from optimized, he already clears Pit 120 in a minute. To push higher in the Pit or the Tower, he points to his Charge Barbarian build.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Nearly immortal as long as you attack, even standing still in the middle of hordes
- Constant movement: continuous teleporting and an Evade that never runs out
- Bosses deleted almost instantly and Pit 120 in a minute with average gear
- Playable with little gear: the key mythics can be crafted at the Blacksmith
Cons
- Not a push build: damage caps out against very high Pits and Towers
- The
Melted Heart of Selig is mandatory for the immortal version - Several pieces still to refine (Insight to rework, glyphs to level) before it reaches full potential
Recommended Gear
Loot Table
Rob insists on one point: the
Melted Heart of Selig is the centerpiece. Without it, there is no immortal Barbarian. It is crafted at the Blacksmith through mythic crafting: one or two clicks on the item, and you get either the Melted Heart or the
Ring of Starless Skies. Rob found his on his Warlock, but crafting remains the easiest path. The stats on the crafted piece are bad, which does not matter to him at all.
The
Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty remains his favorite pick: 50% damage, 10% cooldown reduction and Fury generation. The gloves are
Gohr's Devastating Grips, which he crafted himself and then upgraded in the Cube. The rest of the gear is deliberately modest: pants he calls awful, with Thorns, poison and Willpower, three useless stats, and yet the character tanks everything.
On boots, Rob looks for Movement Speed and, above all, the Evade cooldown temper with maximum Evade charges. That is what lets you chain teleports and charges effortlessly. On the weapon side, Spirit raises resources from 500 to roughly 750. It can be made on any one-handed weapon, swords included, which Rob discovered live. Insight only works on a polearm. Rob eventually plans to replace its weapon damage with critical damage. He also advises always assigning a mace to
Whirlwind, because Enigma switches to the polearm on its own.
Ramaladni's Magnum Opus and The Furnace are just filler pieces here, in versions Rob calls mediocre.
Horadric Seal S15
Rob does not go over his seal in the video. The grid below shows the seal and charms of the immortal setup, and its tabs offer other variations of the build.
Gameplay Tips
The Whirlwind Barbarian speed farm build plays as a loop: lean on the Evade key to keep enough cooldown and charges, teleport, whirl, and chain your shouts to keep Fury flowing. Rob's notes set precise targets: 75% Critical Strike Chance on the sheet (he has 100%), 15,000% Critical Strike Damage, over 400% Vulnerable Damage, over 600 Fury, at least 25 ranks of Whirlwind, over 150 Fury generation with
Wrath of the Berserker and
Rallying Cry, 50,000 Toughness and 60% Cooldown Reduction.
Early on, he recommends running
Aspect of Heavenly Strength twice on the amulet for 60% damage reduction, and playing
Lunging Strike instead of
Iron Skin for easy Fury regeneration. Later, you shift toward damage: drop the Irrepressible Aspect, move
Aspect of Heavenly Strength to the pants, and let
Edgemaster's Aspect add another damage multiplier. If survival is still a problem, the
Mot rune helps; if you lack Critical Strike Chance, the
Gar rune fixes it. Rob also notes that you can play The Furnace instead of Aspect of Channeling.
Against Bosses, standing still works, but Rob prefers switching to a more offensive choice and killing them faster: teleport to them, the Boss spawns, the Boss dies. He also reminds you to pick your seasonal splinter based on the activity, not the build: Terror for Helltides, Destruction for Bosses and the Kurast Undercity, Hatred for the Pit and Nightmare Dungeons. The Hatred splinter is also the best for leveling glyphs, thanks to Kronos's blessing, which grants ten glyph upgrades.
Skill Tree
For the Whirlwind Barbarian, the core of the build is still
Whirlwind, pushed to 27 ranks on Rob's character. Shouts keep Fury up, and
Wrath of the Berserker with
Rallying Cry pushes generation past the 150 target. The full point allocation is in the tree below.
Mercenary S15
Rob does not comment on his mercenary in the video. The build data sets Subo as the main mercenary, with
Wire Trap and
Cover Fire among his skills, and Varyana as reinforcement. The allocated nodes are shown in the grid on the right.
Paragon and Glyphs
Rob changed his starting board and updated the planner. He does not need extra Critical Strike Chance or Attack Speed: Insight and Spirit already bring Attack Speed to the cap, about 40% from one and 50% from the other. So he picks other boards and levels the
Twister glyph, which he likes for the bigger Dust Devils. The
Marshal glyph goes with Weapons Master, and he keeps
Force of Nature. If you lack Critical Strike Chance,
Flawless Technique is an alternative. His glyphs are still sitting between levels 90 and 100, and he already hits for 20 trillion damage.
