LEVELING WARLOCK

Article by Kami

Build Overview

If you're looking for the most devastating and spectacular Warlock build in Season 13, you've just found it. The Bombardment Legion build by @P4wnyhof literally transforms your skill bar into a machine that summons hordes of demons — and makes them explode on everything that moves, from Pit Bosses to Torment 12 elites.

The concept is as brutal as it is elegant: you generate Wrath in cascade thanks to Command Fallen and its Meat Shields that immolate themselves for you, then you channel all that resource into frantic Bombardment spam. With the Ae'grom's Schism aspect on the chest, you benefit from a double charge of Command Fallen — meaning a doubled army, doubled Wrath feed, and damage pressure that scales exponentially. Each Bombardment cast can summon up to 9 demons simultaneously with the Brutality variant, turning every volley into a maelstrom of destruction.

The soul of the build rests on the Soul Shard Legion coupled with the evisceration fragment. The mechanic is simple on the surface: each hit your demons land on an already-eviscerated target has a 2% chance to trigger a new evisceration. Multiply that number by 9 demons per cast, by the repeated volleys of Bombardment, and the probability that a target remains permanently eviscerated approaches 100%. The Tortured Wretch and its Death Saws amplify this effect further, creating an evisceration auto-loop that never stops.

What makes this build truly "broken" in S13 is the synergy between The Fecund Seal and Sigil of Summons: the ring doubles the sigil's damage and summons 3 additional demon swarmers on each activation. Drop your Sigil of Summons, spam Bombardment inside it, rack up 50 lesser demon kills — and Fiend of Abaddon becomes free, on no cooldown, via the Dominance node. A cycle that never breaks, accessible from the very start of leveling all the way through the most demanding endgame content.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Explosive Boss and AoE DPS — the 9 demons per Bombardment cast clear packs and Bosses with devastating efficiency
  • Evisceration auto-loop — the Soul Shard Legion + evisceration fragment creates a permanent damage loop with no extra input required
  • Extremely smooth leveling — the build is operational from level 1 and holds all the way to Torment 12 without any major overhaul
  • Endgame scaling with free Fiend of Abaddon — once 50 lesser demons are dead, the ultimate loops for free via Dominance

Weaknesses

  • Overloaded skill bar — managing 6 actives simultaneously requires a solid grasp of the action order
  • Reliance on Soul Shard Legion and Ae'grom's Schism — these pieces are mandatory to reach the build's full potential
  • Demanding Wrath and Dominance management — finding the right balance between generation and spending takes a few hours of adaptation

The helmet hosts the Aspect of Fiendish Oppression, which plays a crucial role in the build's crowd-control mechanic. This aspect generates a knockback on nearby enemies while granting a substantial damage bonus against targets under crowd-control effects — which, combined with the many crowd-control effects generated by your demons, creates a near-constant uptime on this bonus.

The chest piece holds Ae'grom's Schism, the central aspect of the entire strategy. It grants a second charge of Command Fallen, thereby doubling Wrath generation and the number of demons permanently active. Each activation of this double skill also procs the stacking buff from Eye of Bael, driving Ae'grom's damage up to +80% and beyond.

The pants carry Tibault's WillTibault's Will, an aspect that interacts perfectly with the Unstoppable mechanic of Tortured Wretch. Each time you become Unstoppable, you automatically recover 100 resource points — a free Wrath injection that lets you maintain Bombardment spam without ever running dry.

The amulet is a unique piece in its own right: Seed of Horazon. It scales your damage along two simultaneous metrics — you gain 0.75% additional damage per point of Wrath accumulated, and you benefit from a stacking reduction based on your Dominance. The more aggressively you play, the more exponential the scaling. This is the item that transforms this build from a good build into something truly broken.

The ring The Fecund Seal is the beating heart of the entire rotation. It doubles Sigil of Summons damage and summons 3 additional demon swarmers on each activation, pushing the total demons generated per cast to a stratospheric level. Without this ring, the build works — with it, it becomes unstoppable.

Finally, the offhand focus is occupied by Eye of Bael, the Soul Shard dedicated to the Warlock. It amplifies Ae'grom's damage by 80% and applies a stacking buff up to 50 charges. Coupled with Ae'grom's Schism which activates this skill twice, the charges climb at a formidable pace to reach the maximum cap within seconds of combat.

Build Variants

For Command Fallen, the choice between Mega Lunatic and Meat Shields depends primarily on your level of progression. In early game and during leveling, Mega Lunatic is clearly superior: the demonic demons hit harder and die less quickly, stabilizing your Wrath generation when your gear is still improvable. From mid-Torment onward and once Ae'grom's Schism is obtained, Meat Shields takes over: your lesser demons become tanks that stand between you and enemies while keeping the Wrath flow at an optimal level. The Fallen Army variant remains a viable alternative if you want to maximize the number of demons summoned at the cost of their durability.

On Bombardment, the Brutality variant is the S-tier choice in endgame — it goes up to 9 demons per cast, which multiplies evisceration procs and interactions with The Fecund Seal. Demon Mangler offers an interesting alternative if you want to increase direct damage per demon rather than their quantity, particularly against Bosses with long phases. Endless Barrage is an effective leveling choice that guarantees a continuous flow of demons even with irregular Wrath generation.

The Tortured Wretch is almost always played with Death Saws in endgame: the blades automatically eviscerate nearby targets, feeding the damage loop without requiring any additional input. This is the upgrade that makes the evisceration auto-loop truly passive. Domination is a valid defensive option for content where survival is the priority. Punching Bag can work at the start of leveling when the evisceration mechanics are not yet fully active.

For mobility, RampageRampage with Demonic Smash is the recommended endgame choice: it allows you both to reposition quickly and to generate additional lesser demons when diving into a pack. Nether Step is a simpler alternative to manage in early game if you have trouble chaining offensive movement.

On Fiend of Abaddon, Spiteful Enrage is the go-to node for Boss content with prolonged uptime — it significantly increases the ultimate's damage as the fight drags on. Abyssal Colossus can advantageously replace it if you want more AoE impact on dense packs. Vanguard fits during leveling or if you want a more defensive version of the build.

Horadric Talisman S13

COMING SOON

The Horadric Talisman is the major new feature of Season 13, bringing an additional layer of customization to all builds. For the Bombardment Warlock, the Slaughter set remains particularly relevant in the starter phase thanks to its damage bonuses on lesser demons — a natural synergy with the volume of demons this build permanently generates.

Gameplay Tips

The basic rotation for Pit and Boss content plays out in a simple but precise sequence: dive into the pack with RampageRampage to generate the first lesser demons and place yourself at the heart of the action. Immediately activate Tortured Wretch on grouped enemies to trigger the Death Saws blades. Then drop the Sigil of Summons under the targets' feet and chain continuous Bombardment spam. After 50 lesser demon kills, Fiend of Abaddon becomes free via the Dominance node — use it immediately to maximize DPS pressure. The cycle resumes naturally with zero downtime.

The evisceration auto-loop is the build's most powerful mechanic and also its most discreet. The Soul Shard Legion with its evisceration fragment gives each demon hit a 2% chance to re-eviscerate an already-affected target. With 9 demons summoned per Bombardment cast and repeated volleys every second, the probability that a target remains permanently eviscerated is virtually 100%. The Tortured Wretch's Death Saws add to this mechanic, meaning you never need to manually trigger evisceration — it runs on its own in the background while you focus on the main rotation.

During leveling, start with Mega Lunatic on Command Fallen and Demonic Smash on RampageRampage — these two upgrades give you the best survivability and resource generation in low-level content. Once you reach level 50, switch to Meat Shields and the Brutality variant on Bombardment: you'll start to feel the build explode in terms of damage. Prioritize The Fecund Seal and Seed of Horazon while farming — these two pieces are the signal that the build is "online" and ready for T8 content and beyond.

Talent Tree

Mercenary

@P4wnyhof did not configure a mercenary in this version of the build, which covers leveling through Torment 12 without a specific companion. The system remains entirely optional depending on your playstyle: Subo is the most natural option for this build thanks to its additional Wrath generation that directly feeds Bombardment spam. Raheir offers a more defensive alternative, useful if you struggle to survive in elite-dense content before your resistances are optimized.

Paragon and Glyphs

The Warlock Paragon system for S13 will be integrated as soon as official data becomes available after Season 13 datamining. The recommended boards and glyphs for the Bombardment build will be updated directly in this section.
