LEVELING | ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM SACRESPRIT
Build Overview
The Spiritborn
Counterattack speedfarm build is the one you watch take shape in OmniCross's video, a solo self-found (SSF) progress log from Season 15. The character starts at level 20, climbs to the top 50 of the season in SSF, and ends up clearing Pit 100 in under a minute before putting down Mephisto on Torment 10, then Torment 12. The build itself is @Ignition's, which the YouTuber follows to the letter on most choices, with a few detours dictated by his drops.
Everything runs on
Counterattack and its
Counterattack of the Swarm variant. Each trigger sends out three pestilent swarms that deal poison damage every second for 3 seconds and weaken the enemies they hit. The
Ring of Writhing Moon, dropped by Zir, does the rest: a swarm bursts out of you every 4 seconds, circles you, and cuts 0.25 seconds off the cooldown of an equipped Eagle skill with every hit. To cross the map between packs, you chain
Rushing Claw, which doubles as an evade with no mouse click or target needed.
This article covers the Endgame setup shown at the end of the video, the fast-farming one. The iframe tabs further down give access to the other variants of the build (Starter, Midgame, Push, Speedfarm and Speedfarm Enigma) if you want to assemble it in stages or push it higher.
Pros and Cons
Strengths
- Very fast Pit clearing: Pit 100 falls in under a minute and Pit 115 goes down without a struggle.
- Constant mobility thanks to
Rushing Claw, with cooldowns that refresh almost on their own. - Solid survivability: the Spiritborn
Counterattack build soaks up Mephisto's red orbs on Torment 12 without dying, according to the YouTuber's demonstration. - The swarms handle part of each pack on their own, which makes the build comfortable to play.
- Gradual power growth: the build is playable from level 20 and gets better with every piece you pick up.
Weaknesses
- The
Ring of Writhing Moon is mandatory, and it only drops from Zir. - The build needs a good amount of cooldown reduction or it gets heavy to play: OmniCross tried it with zero cooldown reduction and described it as "extremely clunky."
- Damage is the limiting factor in very high Pits: OmniCross stalls around Pit 125 for lack of damage, and points out that this setup is not the Push variant.
- Gear takes work: several pieces depend on specific Greater Affixes.

Loot Table
Cooldown reduction is close to mandatory on the helm, which is where the
Harmony of Ebewaka sits.
Counterattack carries four spirit types (Jaguar, Gorilla, Centipede and Eagle), and the helm gives it 39% damage per type, 156% in total. OmniCross picked his up from Bartuc already rolled with cooldown reduction, and a 26% roll was enough to make it mythic.
The two rings are the
Ring of Writhing Moon, stacked with damage over time and cooldown reduction, and the Stone of Jordan. The latter sets all your resistances to the highest one, so you only need to raise poison resistance on the pants and boots for the others to follow. The YouTuber shows it by taking the ring off, and his physical resistance collapses at once. The boots carry the
Exploiter's Aspect, which extends crowd control effects by 50% and adds 50% damage against unstoppable enemies, a rare damage bonus on a slot normally used for speed and defense.
The weapon is a two-handed polearm, holding the
Aspect of Infestation, which makes the swarms deal 200% of their normal damage as poison over 6 seconds. The amulet gets the Aspect of Supremacy: every time an enemy is hit during the ultimate,
The Devourer, you gain a damage stack, plus five more when the ultimate ends. The
Aspect of Pestilence enlarges the swarms' area and duration, and sits on the gloves. On defense, the Aspect of Debilitating Toxins gives a permanent 30% damage reduction and cuts the damage poisoned enemies deal to you by 15%.
Resolve (the resource that amplifies your defensive skill damage) is kept up by the
Aspect of Kinetic Suppression: each
Rushing Claw grants three stacks. The stats to aim for on these pieces are damage over time, mobility cooldown reduction and maximum Resolve, all as Greater Affixes where possible. An Enigma dropped along the way: it is the chest piece the author's notes build the Speedfarm Enigma variant around.
Horadric Seal S15
The Seal of the Diamond Mind is the mythic seal that lets you wear two sets at once. OmniCross got it after about sixty runs over four or five hours, a haul he details in a dedicated video. It replaces the
Loyalty's Mantle with two charm sets: the four-piece Balazan's Bite set and the two-piece Kwatli's Grace set, spread across the seal's six slots.
The strength of the seal is that it keeps the five-piece bonus of Balazan's Bite while only four pieces are equipped. That bonus instantly kills any poisoned non-Boss enemy every six seconds, triggering
Scourge along the way, which raises your poison damage by 250%. The two-piece bonus extends poison duration by 80% and weakens enemies. On the Kwatli's Grace side, the three-piece bonus brings a lot of damage reduction and cuts Eagle skill cooldowns by two seconds every 15 meters traveled. With a character that never stops moving thanks to
Rushing Claw, that bonus is always active.
Gameplay Tips: Spiritborn Counterattack
You activate all your secondary skills (
Ravager,
Toxic Skin,
Scourge and
The Devourer), cast
Counterattack for its two charges, then spam
Rushing Claw to move. Each time they come back, you start over: the goal is to recast every cooldown as soon as it is available.
Prodigy's Tempo sets a precise rule:
Rushing Claw must be cast three times in a row to reduce all cooldowns by 30%. As soon as it is available, spam it without pause. While it recharges, you run or use the regular evade.
For safety, always start a Boss fight with a few evades away from the mobs: Resolve resets to zero at the start of every encounter. The author's notes add that you temporarily lose all your stacks when you mount your horse. You can also turn on the "Stand Still" option in toggle mode in the settings so that
Rushing Claw triggers its evade on every cast, without holding Shift. Finally,
Concussive Stomp is built with
Debilitate, Barrier generation and Resolve generation: it is there to keep you alive, not to kill.
Skill Tree
The YouTuber does not go through his tree point by point, since he says he tests a lot of different things every time. He points to @Ignition's planner, which he follows almost exactly, with barely visible differences. The core:
Counterattack with its
Counterattack of the Swarm variant,
Rushing Claw for mobility,
Scourge,
Toxic Skin,
Ravager with
Flurry of Claws,
Concussive Stomp and the ultimate
The Devourer.
Mercenary S15
Subo is the main mercenary, for two reasons. His "map pack" feature shows enemies on the map, which helps you reach packs by flying across the zone. He also adds damage:
Incendiary Bolt blows up a bottle on the target when
Snipe hits, and
Scorched Earth deals an extra 30% damage over time for 3 seconds after that explosion.
As backup, the YouTuber takes Raheir for his Bastion. It triggers on every crowd control effect you suffer and grants 90% damage reduction.
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon setup is built around
Prodigy's Tempo, both a board and a legendary node. Without it, chaining three
Rushing Claw casts does not restart your cooldowns. OmniCross reaches it as soon as he can: he calls it the essential piece for dashing nonstop.
For glyphs, the recommended progression is
Consumption, Canny,
Fester,
Menagerist, then
Colossal. Around 230 Paragon points spent, you swap
Fester for
Colossal, which turns Resolve into a big damage multiplier. Glyphs level up mostly in the Pit, and the YouTuber pushed his to levels 120 to 130 before hitting a wall at that Pit tier. The author's notes advise rushing toward the legendary nodes before even socketing a glyph: the power spike comes sooner.
Resolve and Counterattack
Counterattack is a defensive skill. At eight stacks of Resolve, defensive skills deal 225% more damage. The
Aspect of Kinetic Suppression gives three stacks of Resolve with each
Rushing Claw, so three evades are enough to reach eight. That is what makes
Counterattack, which spawns the swarm, the damage engine of the whole build.
Counterattack's Spirit Types
The
Harmony of Ebewaka grants 39% damage per spirit type the skill has. When the secondary Spirit Hall is set to Eagle,
Counterattack stacks Jaguar, Gorilla, Centipede and Eagle: four types, so 156% more damage (4 types × 39%). OmniCross switches his Spirit Hall back to Eagle for exactly that reason. The author's notes flag a bug: the
Harmony of Ebewaka can make
Ravager lose its minimum ranks when you reach 30 ranks. Match your charm ranks to your primary Spirit Hall to avoid it.
