This crit Spiritborn 
Quill Volley build maximizes critical hit and vulnerable target scaling, designed by @Rob2628 for Season 14 of Diablo 4. The main skill, Quill Volley, is leveled to its maximum rank 15 and serves as the offensive engine of every encounter, flooding packs of enemies with ranged projectiles. The archetype relies on the Eagle spirit to maintain excellent range and mobility, eliminating Bosses and elites before they can get too close. 
Toxic Skin adds a layer of persistent poison that amplifies vulnerable damage windows, while 
The Hunter triggers rapid executions on weakened targets. The build is particularly suited to players looking to push high in the Pit while maintaining excellent clear speed.

Loot Table
The build's foundation rests on three must-have unique items. The helmet Harmony of Ebewaka optimizes maximum resource and overall Spiritborn efficiency, while the weapon Rod of Kepeleke directly amplifies Quill Volley's critical damage. The ring Ring of the Midnight Sun brings an essential vulnerable damage multiplier to exploit the openings created by Toxic Skin and 
Scourge. On legendary pieces, the four power aspects cover the chest armor (
Aspect of Glynn's Anvil), gloves (
Aspect of Plains Power), pants (
Aspect of Forest Power), and boots (
Aspect of Sky Power). The legendary ring receives the 
Aspect of Redirected Force, and the amulet carries the Ferocious Aspect. For affix priority, aim for Critical Strike Damage Multiplier and Vulnerable Damage Multiplier on as many pieces as possible, especially gloves, rings, and the amulet.
Horadric Seal S14
The Horadric Seal, the flagship mechanic of Season 13, allows you to equip a unique charm in a dedicated slot and add an additional Charm slot to greatly amplify your power. This build integrates the unique charm Protean Heart in this slot, bringing a complementary offensive stat layer perfectly aligned with Quill Volley's crit and vulnerable scaling. Gameplay Tips
Begin each pack by activating The Hunter to trigger the execution buff, then immediately follow up with Quill Volley, targeting elites first. Keep Toxic Skin active at all times to ensure a constant poison DoT and maintain the vulnerable condition on all targets in range. Use 
Vortex to group scattered enemies before unleashing a full volley of Quill Volley, maximizing AoE coverage. Activate Scourge as soon as possible on dense packs to apply the vulnerable condition and exploit the offensive synergies of Ring of the Midnight Sun. Keep 
Armored Hide as a last resort to absorb damage spikes when fighting the most threatening Bosses in the deepest Pit tiers. Make use of Subo's 
Wire Trap to immobilize and slow groups, then trigger Cover Fire to benefit from increased critical hit chance and chain a devastating burst of Quill Volley.
Spiritborn Quill Volley Skill Tree
The skill tree of this crit Spiritborn Quill Volley build places the majority of points into Quill Volley (rank 15), enhanced with the Extra Feathers, Claw Volley, and Returning Feathers upgrades to multiply the number of projectiles and their bounces on targets. Toxic Skin is also leveled to rank 15 to maintain the poison layer at all times, and The Hunter at rank 15 enables rapid executions on low-health Bosses and elites. The utility skills — Vortex,

Mercenary S14
Subo (main mercenary) — A bounty hunter whose trap skills pair perfectly with the rhythm of Quill Volley. His main skill Wire Trap immobilizes enemies and creates precious openings, while Cover Fire slows targets and supports your critical damage spikes — an ideal window to chain a volley of Quill Volley. His passives reinforce crowd control and overall mobility.
Varyana (reinforcement mercenary) — The berserking Sorceress intervenes in support through her 
Bloodthirst skill, adding an extra damage layer on dense packs and reinforcing the overall offensive efficiency of the build alongside Subo.
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon of this Spiritborn Quill Volley build revolves around five boards, each with a glyph leveled to its maximum rank of 100. The starting board hosts 
Fulminate to amplify lightning and critical damage, the Prodigy's Tempo board receives 
Ritual to optimize resource regeneration, and the Viscous Shield board takes 
Talon to reinforce claw power. The Convergence board carries 
Colossal for Boss damage spikes, and the In-Fighter board closes with

Critical and Vulnerable Scaling
The core strength of this build rests on the combination of two damage multipliers: Critical Strike Damage Multiplier and Vulnerable Damage Multiplier. Rod of Kepeleke and the power aspects (plains, forest, sky) increase the frequency and power of Quill Volley's critical hits, while Toxic Skin and Scourge permanently apply the vulnerable condition on targets. When both layers are active simultaneously — which is the case for the vast majority of properly engaged packs — each Quill Volley volley deals exponentially higher damage, creating devastating spikes on elites and Bosses that justify the build's effectiveness in high Pit tiers.
