ENDGAME | PIT PUSH | SPEED FARM VOLEUR
Build Overview
The Rogue remains one of the most dominant classes of Season 13, and this
Penetrating Shot build is a brilliant showcase of that: Mat-4005 clears his PIT 150 in 3 minutes 22 seconds solo, placing him in the world top 4, and gets close to 3 minutes 15 in optimized duo runs. The numbers speak for themselves — up to 1.863 trillion cumulative damage, or exactly 1,863,000 tera damage on the toughest Pit Bosses.
The build's identity rests on two complementary pillars: a rank 15
Penetrating Shot that punches through enemy waves and stacks the Ferocity resource via multi-target hits, and a solid defensive layer built around
Concealment,
Dark Shroud and
Cold Imbuement which converts all our damage into cold to maximize scaling. The post-patch quirk: Shadow Clone is replaced by
Rain of Arrows as the ultimate, which radically changes the gameplay pattern without breaking the overall viability of the build.
On the push side, we're talking about a true endgame build designed to chase PIT 150 runs and farm Tormented T12 Bosses without difficulty. Mat even mentions that he ran the Tormented T12 test (notably Mfist) just before recording the video — the resistance and damage are there, and the build absorbs Boss hits with a comfortable safety margin.
Pros and Cons
✅ Pros
- World top 4 PIT 150 solo (3:22) — performance verified by Mat-4005
- Massive damage on Tormented T12 Bosses (up to 1.863 trillion cumulative)
- Complete defensive layer:
Concealment,
Dark Shroud, fortification - Pure cold scaling via
Cold Imbuement and
Aspect of Piercing Cold - High mobility thanks to spammable
Dash - Viable build even without perfect optimization (between 4 and 5 minutes max on PIT 150)
❌ Cons
- Relies on Ferocity stacking (minimum 5, ideally 10-15)
- Requires precise positioning to stack crits on priority targets
- Without
Harlequin Crest and
Tyrael's Might, resistance takes a noticeable hit - The
Aspect of Frozen Memories is mandatory — no real plan B - Build sensitive to elemental resistances (poison, fire) on certain Bosses
- Notable learning curve on Concealment / Dark Shroud transitions
Recommended Gear
Loot Table
The gear revolves around three mythic pillars:
Harlequin Crest in the helm slot (the cornerstone of any Rogue endgame build),
Tyrael's Might on the chest for the critical defensive layer, and
Doombringer as the main weapon which adds a non-negligible damage reduction. The
Ring of Starless Skies on the second ring slot completes the offensive combo by reducing skill costs and amplifying spam damage.
On the unique front, Shrouded Gift (pre-patch) or legendary
Pants with the Aspect of Glynn's Anvil (post-patch) guarantee both survival and a damage reduction bonus per Resolve stack of Determination — Mat hovers around 40 to 50 stacks, which translates to 160 to 200% cumulative damage reduction. El'Druin, Sword of Justice as the off-hand weapon reinforces crit scaling.
The priority Greater Affixes are tripled on the amulet and gloves (Vulnerable Damage Multiplier, All Damage Multiplier and Critical Strike Damage Multiplier) — Cooldown Reduction as the fourth completes the rotation. The key aspects to aim for are
Aspect of Frozen Memories on the gloves for cold scaling,
Aspect of Piercing Cold on the boots, Ferocious Aspect on the amulet to push the Ferocity cap to 9, and
Aspect of Synergy or
Aspect of Apogeic Furor on the ring for the final multiplier. As for gems, Mat recommends Ruby for life, Topaz for resource regeneration, Emerald in the
Pants and a Sapphire in the weapon for cold damage.
Horadric Seal S13
The talisman used on this build assembles the Legacy of the Sightless set in 5/5 (Beru, Fer, Linta, Mlor and Phoba of the Sightless) completed by the unique charm
Azurewrath. The combination provides a full set bonus that significantly amplifies
Penetrating Shot ranged damage, while guaranteeing an additional defensive layer through
Azurewrath's effect. The interactive viewer below lets you inspect each piece and the active set power for both variants (pre- and post-patch).
Gameplay Tips
The ideal rotation in PIT 150 starts by placing a
Smoke Grenade to slow packs, followed by a
Concealment to benefit from guaranteed crit bonuses and fortification when exiting stealth. Then chain 2 to 3
Penetrating Shot while positioning to pierce as many targets as possible — that's where the Ferocity stacks climb quickly toward the cap of 9.
Dash serves both for mobility and to proc critical effects, and
Cold Imbuement must be maintained permanently to convert all damage into cold.
Against Bosses (Tormented T12 or Pit Boss), priorities change: keep a
Concealment in reserve for dangerous phases, activate
Dark Shroud before engaging to stack damage mitigation, and release
Rain of Arrows (post-patch) or Shadow Clone (pre-patch) when the Boss is frozen by
Cold Imbuement to capitalize on the 20% bonus damage on frozen targets. Mat insists on not wasting your ultimate: waiting for the freeze window drastically optimizes the burst.
On the defensive side, breathing room mainly comes from the Concealment + Fortification combo. At 40 Resolve stacks of Determination, you already reach 160% cumulative damage reduction, with a practical cap around 210% through additive multipliers. If your global resistance is weak, Mat recommends prioritizing maximum life over secondary damage stats — a dead Rogue does no damage, regardless of theoretical potential.
Talent Tree
Mercenary S13
The active mercenary is Subo, chosen for his
Wire Trap and
Cover Fire which synergize perfectly with a ranged build. Subo applies a constant slowdown and crowd control that secures our ranged positioning, while dealing a non-negligible damage bonus when enemies are trapped. His allocated passives further reinforce the vulnerability bonuses, which directly amplifies
Penetrating Shot scaling.
Paragon and Glyphs
The Paragon path goes through five successive boards that maximize critical strike multipliers and crowd control. We start on the Start board with the
Assassin glyph at rank 100 to boost critical damage in vulnerable conditions. Then chain to Cheap Shot with
Control for crowd control bonuses (essential with
Smoke Grenade and freeze), then Leyrana's Instinct with
Versatility for offensive flexibility.
The last two boards — Exploit Weakness with the Eclipse glyph and Danse Macabre with
Devious — provide the final multipliers that push damage toward the 1.8 trillion mentioned in the intro. The viewer below lets you inspect each board and plan the mandatory routes.
