Blizzard has officially announced the Lord of Hatred livestream date — the major community event preceding the launch of Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred. The development team will host a Lord of Hatred livestream on Thursday, April 23 at 8 PM Paris time, just a few days before the expansion goes live on April 28. On the agenda: a detailed walkthrough of the new features set to redefine the gameplay experience, plus two exclusive cosmetic weapons to claim via Twitch Drops.
For players who have been following the expansion's news for weeks, this Lord of Hatred livestream is a chance to finally get answers from the dev team on lingering questions about the complete skill tree overhaul and the new horadric cube crafting system.
Lord of Hatred Livestream — April 23 at 8 PM Paris Time

Blizzard chose a strategic time slot. The Lord of Hatred livestream is scheduled five days before the official release, giving the community time to digest the announcements, sharpen their theorycrafting, and prepare their first character. The 8 PM Paris time slot clearly targets the European audience during prime time.
The format follows the classic template for this type of event. The development team presents the major content highlights, followed by a Q&A session to close out the broadcast. It is often in that final segment where the most concrete details emerge — particularly around last-minute balance changes or classes that have not yet had their moment in the spotlight.
Skill Tree, Talisman, Horadric Cube, and Endgame Systems
The official agenda is packed. Blizzard has confirmed four main segments for the Lord of Hatred livestream: the skill tree overhaul for all eight classes, the new talisman, the redesigned horadric cube as the crafting hub, and the much-anticipated endgame systems.
That last point carries the highest expectations. Leaks from recent weeks have mentioned twelve new Torment tiers, redesigned fortresses, and brand-new endgame activities glimpsed in the 21 minutes of gameplay revealed recently. It remains to be seen what the team officially shows during the stream.
The skill tree in particular deserves attention. The entire community had taken to calling the current system the skill twig — that is how sparse the choices felt. Blizzard is delivering this overhaul for free to all Diablo 4 players, not just those who purchase the expansion. Thursday evening's presentation should finally show how each class plays after the transition.
Two Cosmetic Weapons via Twitch Drops
Blizzard has set up a Twitch Drops system to reward viewers watching the Lord of Hatred livestream. Two exclusive cosmetic items are available based on watch time, which can then be applied to your character's weapons in Diablo 4.
At 30 minutes of watch time, you unlock the Decaying Brow ornamental staff. At a full hour, the Double Trouble ornamental sword is added to your collection. The claim window runs until April 24 at 7:59 PM Paris time — roughly 24 hours after the stream ends.
Good news for players who have not yet picked up the expansion: no Lord of Hatred purchase is required to claim these drops. You simply need to own Diablo 4 and have linked your Battle.net account to your Twitch account before the broadcast begins. The linking process takes just a few clicks in your Twitch account settings, under the connected accounts section.
Where to Watch the Lord of Hatred Livestream

Blizzard is streaming simultaneously across four platforms: Twitch, YouTube, X, and TikTok. If you are after the cosmetic rewards, there is only one option: the official Twitch channel. The other platforms are useful for those who prefer catching the VOD or live-commenting on X.
For those who are working or sleeping during the broadcast, the video will be available as a replay on YouTube within hours of the stream ending. Keep in mind, however, that Twitch Drops only work on the live Twitch stream — not on replays. If you want both cosmetic weapons, you need to schedule at least one hour on Twitch during the window of the evening of April 23 or the morning of April 24.
