Two pistols held under a diner table, a steaming coffee, a travel bag on the booth seat. Jason and Lucia face each other and nothing else moves. It is one of the four screenshots published in issue #27 of LOVE magazine, on sale October 5 for €25, along with an interview with four people from Rockstar.
What does GTA 6 get out of LOVE magazine, one week after Game Informer’s feature on weather, hurricanes and wildlife (our article on issue 382)? With 45 days to go before the November 19 release, this issue mostly shows how Rockstar wants us to look at its two leads.
Four images, no mission
First image, the diner. The booth is blue, sunlight comes in through the window, and each of them keeps a weapon in hand. Jason wears a palm-print shirt open over a dark T-shirt, a detail that matters later.

Second and third images, the motorbike and the pool table. Lucia, cigarette in her mouth, sunglasses, white tank top and red pants, carries a leather travel bag. Jason, in a leather jacket, sits on a motorbike, pistol in hand. The next one takes place in a red-lit biker bar. Jason wears a « Steel Horse Motorcyles » tank top, with a typo: the « c » is missing from « Motorcycles ». Lucia, in a sleeveless jacket, holds a pool cue.

Fourth image, in black and white: in front of a mobile home, Jason in a white tank top sits on a folding chair, a beer in hand. Lucia, standing, wears a leopard-print top and sunglasses.

These are fashion-magazine poses, not gameplay. Gamereactor talks about « everyday-looking scenes rather than a confirmed gameplay reveal » and points out that the contents of the bag remain unknown. The site does put the biker jacket in the pool table scene. That is inaccurate: the jacket is in the motorbike image, and at the pool table Jason is in a tank top.
In my view, Rockstar is selling a couple and a lifestyle here, with bikers, a mobile home and a diner. Not game systems.
An American dream reduced to a paid-off loan
Four Rockstar voices speak in LOVE magazine: Rob Nelson, co-studio head and head of development at Rockstar North, Rupert Humphries, senior vice president in charge of narrative, and writers Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern and Alexa D’Agostino. KeenGamer details the list in its October 3 article, and sums up the duo this way: Lucia wants a better life whatever the obstacles, Jason reacts to the circumstances around him.

The most striking passage, picked up by RockstarINTEL, comes from Rupert Humphries, about Lucia: « Maybe the American dream is more modest now. It’s a house for your family and your loans paid off instead of wild success. »
Criminals dreaming of a settled loan: the shift is sharp for a series built on excess. Yet the same Humphries describes Leonida as « a pressure cooker for all kinds of insanity » and promises to make everything « satirical, larger than life, and more grotesque ».
My read: the gap between this modest dream and a state going off the rails is probably the engine of the story. Two characters aiming for an ordinary life where nothing is ordinary. Rockstar does not say so, this is an interpretation.
The writers stress imperfection. Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern: « We wanted both protagonists to be vulnerable, tough, flawed, right sometimes, wrong sometimes, able to learn from each other. » Alexa D’Agostino talks about « something perfectly imperfect, with clichés, but also undeniably real ».
After Game Informer, what LOVE magazine does not bring
One week separates the two magazines, and they are not in the same league. Game Informer’s issue 382, dated September 29, lined up 14 pages and 12 screenshots: localized and persistent weather, confirmed hurricanes, six regions, more than 170 animal species. LOVE covers no game mechanics at all.

Insider Gaming makes the same comparison: « They’re not as electric and, dare I say, as exciting as Game Informer’s screenshots, but they highlight Rockstar’s focus on Jason and Lucia as a power couple who can seemingly do anything in the upcoming game. »
What issue #27 adds that is new:
- four screenshots of Jason and Lucia, one of them in black and white;
- interviews with Rob Nelson, Rupert Humphries and two Rockstar writers.
What it does not bring:
- no new mechanic;
- no gameplay footage, only staged scenes.
Only one sentence touches the game itself, and it comes from Rob Nelson: « Sometimes you need things to feel realistic to help with immersion, and conversely, sometimes you need to forego realism in favour of what’s convenient for the player. »
On September 15, the same Rob Nelson had told GamesRadar that the police would be harder to shake off. The two statements read together: a more demanding game, which sacrifices realism whenever it gets in the player’s way. That is a reading, not an announcement. For gameplay actually shown, go back to the Extended Look, and for the tech, to the 30 FPS announced on consoles.
Pulp Fiction at the diner, and a LOVE issue already sold out
On Reddit, players saw something other than a couple on the run. According to GSMGoTech, the diner screenshot reminds them of the opening scene of Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, 1994). Pumpkin and Honey Bunny, played by Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer, rob the restaurant where they are having breakfast. Jason’s shirt, open over a dark T-shirt, would recall Tim Roth’s outfit.
User u/PowerfulBreath9241 summed up the idea in one line: « Looks like Lucia and Jason are paying for their meal with bullets ».
The visual rhyme is plausible for a studio that readily quotes cinema. Rockstar has confirmed nothing, and nothing says the scene exists as is in the game.
As for the collector edition of LOVE magazine, it has already vanished from the shop of distributor KD Presse: sold out in a few minutes, according to Beebom. The cover carries the tagline « America’s Most Wanted ».

Paper is only one part of the campaign: Gamereactor also reports a « Night in Vice City » event organized with the NBA’s Miami Heat. And on substance, Rockstar has already settled a point that will matter more than Jason’s outfit: the game will ship without microtransactions.
GTA 6 releases on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. 45 days to go.
