Build Overview

This Warrior Titan build exploits a formidable mechanic: making EarthquakeEarthquake and Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods nearly instant through massive stacking of skill duration reduction. Instead of waiting for the earthquake to trigger, each slam strikes in about 0.3 seconds, enabling an ultra-aggressive and fluid gameplay that crushes monster packs and Citadel Bosses alike.

The core of the build rests on Atalui’s BloodlettingBloodletting, which converts the mana cost of EarthquakeEarthquake into a life cost. This life expenditure generates Glory, allowing you to use Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods without needing to stun enemies beforehand. Both skills feed each other: you spam EarthquakeEarthquake to generate Glory, then unleash Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods for massive damage in a single strike.

Defense is provided by Time of NeedTime of Need, which heals around 700 life every 0.5 seconds and cleanses curses and elemental ailments. Combined with Brass Dome for critical strike immunity and the Weapon Swap system for warcries, this build offers a rare combination of raw offensive power and impressive defensive resilience.

Build Strengths

  • Devastating instant damage: EarthquakeEarthquake and Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods trigger in 0.3 seconds thanks to duration reduction stacking, allowing you to delete Citadel Bosses with 27 million HP effortlessly.
  • Extremely tanky: Between Brass Dome (critical strike immunity), Time of NeedTime of Need (700 life/0.5s + ailment cleanse) and Amanamu (SacrificeSacrifice of Flesh), survival is nearly guaranteed even in the most dangerous maps.
  • Massive AoE without investment: The Titan ascendancy doubles the effect of Fist of War (Ancestral EmpowermentAncestral Empowerment), providing 60% multiplicative damage and a significant AoE increase every two strikes, without needing additional AoE passive tree nodes.
  • Viable crit build: The increased base crit on the Ruination Mace and the application of 9 stacks of Critical Weakness via Echoing CryEchoing Cry make critical scaling very effective.
  • Accessible budget: The build works without the most expensive gems (Garrick’s Resolve, Atal). Atalui’s BloodlettingBloodletting and Zerphi’s Infamy are affordable and sufficient to reach an excellent performance level.

Build Weaknesses

  • Technical weapon swap: The build uses two weapon sets (Set 1 for slams, Set 2 for warcries), which requires some dexterity and can throw off players unfamiliar with weapon swapping in combat.
  • Nerfed AoE: The AoE of EarthquakeEarthquake was significantly reduced in the last patch. Investing in AoE passive tree nodes is no longer worthwhile, so the build relies solely on the Titan’s Ancestral EmpowermentAncestral Empowerment for its range.
  • Tight attribute management: The build requires a precise balance between Strength (for the hammer), Intelligence (for Time of NeedTime of Need max rank) and Dexterity (for Constructing Command), which complicates gear selection.

Recommended Equipment

  • Weapon (Set 1): Crafted Ruination Mace with Critical Strike Chance. The high base crit is essential for the build’s crit scaling. The corpse explosion implicit is a nice bonus but not mandatory. Alternative: Temple Mace (more attack speed) or Massive Braid Hammer (more base damage).
  • Weapons (Set 2): Two maces with the « Empower Additional Attack » implicit and as many sockets as possible with skill speed. These weapons are used exclusively for warcries. Ideally, look for lightning damage to apply the shock debuff (+20% damage).
  • Body Armour: Brass Dome for immunity to critical strikes. Combined with the armour nodes on the passive tree, this chest piece completely eliminates the danger of maps with critical strike modifiers.
  • Shield: Constructing Command for bonus damage. Prioritize Strength on the shield above all else.
  • Amulet: Struggle Scream with 4 allocated passives (Stuck Through for base crit, MomentumMomentum for speed, Tempered Mine for Strength and critical damage, Careful AssassinCareful Assassin for massive Critical Strike Chance).
  • Rings: Rings with life, mana, physical damage as prefixes, then resistances or attributes. Mana leech on one ring is important for sustain.
  • Belt / Boots / Gloves / Helmet: Prioritize armour, life, resistances, and elemental damage taken (especially on boots with a passive).

Gameplay Tips

  • Mapping rotation: Spam EarthquakeEarthquake while moving. Use dodge roll between each slam to speed up clear. The AoE from Ancestral EmpowermentAncestral Empowerment is enough for clear without additional investment.
  • Boss rotation: Swap to Set 2, cast Echoing CryEchoing Cry (applies 9 charges of Critical Weakness) and Seismic CrySeismic Cry, then swap back to Set 1. Spam EarthquakeEarthquake to generate Glory, then unleash Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods for the burst. During heavy stuns, chain EarthquakeEarthquake → HotG → EarthquakeEarthquake to maximize damage.
  • Don’t over-invest in attack speed: If your attack speed is too high, earthquakes won’t detonate before you cast another one (they cannot overlap). Around 6 attacks per second is the ideal sweet spot.
  • Forge Hammer on Set 2: Use Forge HammerForge Hammer on Set 2 to generate rage against Bosses through fire fissures. Fire penetration is important because fissures deal only fire damage.
  • Budget alternative: Life Tap: If you cannot afford Atalui’s BloodlettingBloodletting, Vital Drain provides the same mana → life conversion but without the bonus damage.

How Instant Slam Works

The core mechanic of this build relies on stacking skill effect duration reduction from the passive tree. EarthquakeEarthquake and Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods are duration-based skills: normally, the earthquake takes some time before detonating. By massively reducing this duration, both skills become nearly instant.

The passive tree now offers two duration reduction clusters. The first is located in the main area and the second was added recently. Thanks to the Titan ascendancy and Hulking FormHulking Form, small passive nodes have their effectiveness increased, which makes RendRend each point of reduction even more impactful. Without these additional 12% reduction, the duration goes from 0.3 seconds to 0.8 seconds — a considerable difference in combat.

It is possible to go even lower (0.2 or even 0.1 seconds) with Palm of the DreamerPalm of the Dreamer in its « reduced skill effect duration » version, but this item costs around 87 Divines and opens up more exotic configurations such as a Cast on CriticalCast on Critical setup with additional comets.

Weapon Swap: Warcries on Set 2

The build uses a very efficient Weapon Swap system. Set 1 (main weapon + shield) is dedicated to slams (EarthquakeEarthquake and Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods) and benefits from all the duration reduction. Set 2 uses two maces with the « Empower Additional Attack » implicit and skill speed sockets for warcries.

Warcries (Infernal CryInfernal Cry, Seismic CrySeismic Cry and Echoing CryEchoing Cry) are placed on Set 2 because they don’t need the slam duration reduction. Conversely, Forge HammerForge Hammer is also on Set 2: its fire fissures have a duration of 19 seconds with Set 2, versus only 1 second with Set 1 which reduces all durations.

Since Weapon Swap became instant this league, the transition between the two sets is perfectly smooth. The typical workflow: swap to Set 2 → warcries → swap to Set 1 → spam EarthquakeEarthquake + Hammer of the GodsHammer of the Gods.

Time of Need: The Ultimate Survival Tool

Time of NeedTime of Need is described by the author as « the most broken thing about this build ». This skill heals approximately 700 life every 0.5 seconds and automatically cleanses curses and elemental ailments (shock, freeze, ignite). Ignite in particular is extremely dangerous this season, and having an automatic purge every half-second is a considerable defensive advantage.

The crucial point: all skill effect duration reduction nodes also apply to Time of NeedTime of Need, which increases its healing frequency. The author recommends crafting the gem to +1 level and investing in this skill as it completely transforms the build’s survivability.

Combined with Amanamu and SacrificeSacrifice of Flesh (which works similarly to the Destiny amulet), the build gains life loss prevention that stacks the build’s resilience to an impressive level.

Optimal Rotation and Rage Management

The boss rotation is very structured. As soon as the boss appears, swap to Set 2 and cast Echoing CryEchoing Cry. This cry is special because it echoes twice, meaning it activates three times in total. Each activation applies 3 stacks of Critical Weakness (base crit), for a total of 9 debuff stacks on the boss. Follow up with Seismic CrySeismic Cry to copy your slams, then return to Set 1.

For mana sustain, a simple mana leech node based on physical damage is sufficient. Since the build is almost entirely physical (especially after shocks), a single rank covers all needs. The « increased Attack Speed while not on low mana » node is maintained at 100% uptime with this method, and the « damage taken from mana before life » node adds an additional layer of defense.

Rage is generated primarily by Time Lost Ruby (rage on hit) and by Forge HammerForge Hammer against bosses through fire fissures. Warcries with « Raging CryRaging Cry » also contribute to rage generation, while Enraged Warcry converts rage into additional damage.

Jewels and Passive Tree

The Titan’s passive tree fully leverages the Hulking FormHulking Form ascendancy to increase the effectiveness of small nodes. Duration reduction clusters are essential and should never be unspecced. The path toward the top of the tree naturally covers the Strength requirements for Giant’s Blood.

For the Surrounded cluster, the build chooses level 4 (one enemy around you is enough). This activates massive bonuses: 34% block chance, 50% movement speed, 100% additional damage, and an increase to AoE and attack speed. Dodge roll also becomes longer with enemies nearby, improving gameplay fluidity.

Key jewels are Time Lost Ruby (+3 EarthquakeEarthquake if possible, otherwise +2), Prism of Belief (double damage and stun buildup), a Megalomaniac with critical strike chance nodes (such as Critical ExploitExploit), and Heart of the Well with body armour armour and skill speed. Control Metamorphosis with Medium Ring brings critical strike chance nodes and additional crit damage through Prison Guard and In Your FaceIn Your Face.
