Build Overview
Here is one of the fastest and most fun builds of the season: the
Earthshatter « Turbo Blender » Monk build, an OFFMETA concept created by Ulfhednar and showcased here by Perra Gaming. On paper, this is a mace build based on
Earthshatter — but in reality it’s a true walking tornado that clears maps at an absurd Clear speed while maintaining near-immortal survival and Bossing damage that melts any Pinnacle boss.
The secret behind this insane mobility? We run a single one-handed mace stacking attack speed to the max, and
Boneshatter launches us forward with every use. On top of that,
Earthshatter is one of the rare mace skills that scales genuinely well while staying visually spectacular. The core of the build relies on a series of clever interactions: the main weapon stacks madness on enemies to slow them and boost
Harbinger of Madness, while the constant freeze triggers
Herald of Ice which, paired with
Blasphemy +
notable Repulsion, literally blows up packs all around you.
The cherry on top: the build is accessible and budget-friendly to put together. Most of the unique pieces are nearly free, and the Monk’s Martial Artist ascendancy — one of the strongest in patch 0.5 right now — does the rest of the work.
Strengths / Weaknesses
✅ Strengths
- Absurd clear speed :
Boneshatter propels you forward and chain explosions wipe packs instantly. - Excellent boss damage :
Earthshatter shreds Pinnacle bosses, especially with freeze stun-lock. - Near-immortal survivability : high evasion + Energy Shield +
Refutation (block / runic ward) make you very hard to hit. - Very budget-friendly : most of the unique pieces are worth almost nothing on the market.
- Simple gameplay :
Boneshatter to move,
Earthshatter for damage — easy to pick up. - Semi-AFK loop :
notable Repulsion +
Living Lightning can clear rituals and breaches almost on their own.
❌ Weaknesses
- Relies on mana/physical leech : you absolutely need a leech mod on a ring to sustain
Earthshatter. - Refutation less permanent : its defensive guard can no longer be maintained continuously, requiring active management in tense situations.
- OFFMETA build : poorly documented, it requires understanding the interactions (madness, freeze, charges) to get the most out of it.

Good news: the build is very cheap to put together. Here are the pieces to aim for, from most to least important.
- Weapon — One-handed mace « Sadist’s Mercy » : this is the core piece. Look for one with high attack speed, damage and critical chance, as well as a high-level Harbinger of Madness. It costs almost nothing, so don’t settle for a mediocre roll.
- Vestige of Darkness : a unique helmet that lets you freeze enemies quickly (the foundation of the entire freeze combo). Get it with as much armour and Energy Shield as possible, and ideally a good corrupt (spirit).
- Body armour : prioritise maximum evasion, complemented by Energy Shield wherever possible, capped resistances, maximum life and deflection. We mostly fight at range while slowing enemies, so with enough evasion and deflection you’ll rarely get hit.
- Gloves : aim for flat damage, critical chance, melee levels and attack speed (the conversion goes through Way of the Stonefist). A more defensive option is possible if you prefer.
- Rings : flat damage and plugging your remaining resistances. Most importantly: you absolutely need mana leech on one of your rings — a good physical leech roll is enough to sustain thanks to the massive physical damage of
Earthshatter. - Amulet : look for spirit and melee levels, then any good defensive mod. Anoint it with notable Barbaric Strength for a bit more damage.
- Charms & flasks : prioritise a large recovery on use. A Rite of Passage charm with skill speed is excellent but not mandatory; round it out with anti-stun and anti-freeze charms so you can’t be crowd-controlled.
Gameplay Tips
The build is intentionally simple to play — the author describes it as « easy to the point of being instinctive ».
- Boneshatter = mobility and rage: use it to cross the map or whenever you run out of rage. It’s your movement skill.
- Earthshatter = damage: to deal damage, just press
Earthshatter. That simple. - Snipers Mark occasionally: cast it from time to time to keep your charges (power and frenzy) active. No need to spam it.
- Refutation for defense (or a burst): activate it when you need to tank hits or want to deal extra damage — you gain 50% more damage when enemies hit you while it’s active.
- Let the freeze do the work: thanks to
Vestige of Darkness, everything around you is constantly frozen, which triggers
Herald of Ice and stun-locks bosses — just let the explosion machine run.
The Madness Combo: Sadist’s Mercy + Harbinger of Madness
The build’s entire offensive potential starts with the weapon. The Sadist’s Mercy mace stacks « grueling madness » on enemies. This is already excellent on its own, as it accumulates slowing and makes you harder to hit — but most importantly, it increases enemy power.
And that’s where the magic happens:
Harbinger of Madness deals extra damage as enemies accumulate power. Since this effect comes from the weapon itself, your mace becomes a true self-feeding damage beast. The longer the fight lasts, the harder you hit — a perfect virtuous cycle for Pinnacle bosses.
The Explosion Machine: Freeze, Herald of Ice and Repulsion
Clear speed relies on a chain reaction.
Vestige of Darkness permanently freezes enemies, allowing them to be shattered instantly with
Herald of Ice. Combined with
Blasphemy +
notable Repulsion, every hit on an enemy affected by
notable Repulsion creates an explosion — hence the flood of detonations on screen.
Advanced tip: adding
Living Lightning, which also hits enemies and triggers
notable Repulsion in turn, creates a free loop. In practice, in a ritual or a breach, you can almost go AFK and let these two skills clear the area for you.
The Martial Artist Ascendancy: Hollow Focus & Hollow Resonance
The build’s core power comes from the Martial Artist ascendancy of the Monk, combined with Way of the Stonefist. The two key ascendancy skills are
Hollow Focus and
Hollow Resonance, which grant you additional bells — in other words, more damage.
If you only have three ascendancy points so far, take these three first. After that, head toward runic meridians for additional sockets.
Hollow Resonance also provides life leech, which frees up that affix on your gear.
Why a Single Mace: Dance with Death & Speed
The choice of a single one-handed mace is intentional. At the bottom of the passive tree, the keystone Dance with Death grants 25% multiplicative attack speed as long as your off-hand is empty — hence the value of playing a single weapon with no shield.
This multiplied attack speed directly feeds the momentum of
Boneshatter, which lets you literally slide through maps. Along the way we also pick up the keystone Resonance (to maintain power charges and frenzy charges), a massive crit cluster, the Hollow Keeper node (curse immunity with the right rune), and deflection — which justifies wearing a high-evasion body armour.
