Arms, the Warrior Specialization of Long-Lasting Wounds
Arms revolves around Mortal Strike, which halves healing received by its target for 10 seconds (the Warrior’s number-one argument in arena and battlegrounds), and Deep Wounds, a bleed triggered by critical hits that makes the whole tree revolve around crit rate. In dungeons and raids, it’s the single-target reference: less randomness than Fury, more sustained damage than dual-wielding light weapons. It requires a two-handed weapon, patience on a fight’s opener (Charge, Overpower), and tight Rage management: it’s the specialization for the player who prefers steady damage over damage that depends on luck. Sweeping Strikes gives it a bit of cleave, without turning it into an AoE specialization.
What Forever Changes in the Arms Tree
Out of the eighteen talents Arms had in vanilla, four disappear: the per-weapon-type specializations for Axe, Mace, Sword, and Polearm. They’re replaced by a single new talent, Weaponmaster, which grants a bonus depending on the weapon held: extra crit with an axe or polearm, armor penetration with a mace or staff, a chance at an extra attack with a sword. The two other new additions, Spearing Strike and Bloodthrill, add an anti-mount strike and a chance to trigger Overpower on a bleeding target. The remaining fourteen talents are kept: four unchanged, nine reworked with simple percentage or Rage-cost adjustments, and one last one that only changes position in the tree without its effect moving.

Weaponmaster Awaits Its Verdict In-Game
Weaponmaster still has to pick its side in real play: extra crit with the axe, armor penetration with the mace, or the sword’s extra attack. The build guide that settles it will arrive once Arms has been tested in the beta, which opens on September 17, 2026; the full launch follows on November 4, 2026.
