Build Overview
This Amazon Huntress build proves you can destroy Tier 17 content without breaking the bank. The concept is straightforward: you impale mobs with Glacial Lance, and every critical hit automatically triggers a Comet via Cast on Critical. The result? Ice explosions all over the screen.
The Glacial Lance + Cast on Critical combo forms the core of the build. Frenzy Charges are generated through Combat Frenzy to boost attack speed, and both Heralds (Ice and Thunder) add layers of elemental damage. All of this on a Rhoa Mount for ultra-smooth, fast gameplay.
The total budget is around one Divine Orb. Yes, just one. The most expensive item is the unique sceptre Sacred Flame, which costs roughly half the budget, but it provides bonus Spirit and additional fire damage. The rest of the gear can easily be found in trade for a few Exalts.
Build Strengths
- Ridiculous budget: Only 1 Divine Orb to clear T17. You can start farming endgame content very early in the league.
- Excellent clear speed: The Glacial Lance + CoC Comet combo wipes packs instantly. Lightning Spear with Barrage handles large monster packs.
- Smooth gameplay: The Rhoa Mount provides constant Mobility. Charge into packs, throw your lance, move on. Zero downtime.
- Double scaling: Damage comes from both Glacial Lance AND Comet. Every investment boosts both damage sources.
Build Weaknesses
- Not hardcore friendly: The author is clear about it – if you get dismounted from the Rhoa, you die. This build is not designed for SSF Hardcore.
- Limited defenses: We rely on evasion and Energy Shield, not raw life. Big hits can be fatal.

Endgame
10 skills • 46 gemmesRecommended Equipment
- Weapon (Spear): Look for high Accuracy (scales damage), Critical Strike Chance, and elemental damage. The author found theirs for ~2 Exalts.
- Off-hand (Sceptre): Sacred Flame is the key item of the build. It grants bonus Spirit and converts some damage to fire. Costs around 50 Exalts (half the budget).
- Body Armour: Prioritize high Spirit, lots of Evasion, and Chaos Resistance if possible.
- Helmet: Look for high Energy Shield and resistances. ES is important for Subforge Mask in the passive tree.
- Rings: Resistances first. Damage bonuses on top are a luxury.
- Amulet: Additional Spirit, missing attributes (strength/dexterity), and resistances.
- Boots/Belt: Life and missing resistances. Nothing more needed.
- Jewels: With the remaining 30 Exalts, the author recommends 2x Perfect Jeweler’s Orb to optimize sockets.
Gameplay Tips
- Rhoa Mount is optional: The Rhoa is a comfort feature, not a requirement. If you prefer to play without a mount for extra safety, the build still works.
- Simple rotation: Activate Combat Frenzy for the charges, then spam Glacial Lance. Use Lightning Spear + Barrage for large packs. The Heralds and CoC handle the rest automatically.
- Defensive passive tree: Take Subforge Mask (evasion from helmet ES), Spectral Ward (max ES from body armour evasion), and Bestial Skin (100% body armour evasion).
- Mana sustain: Conservative Casting in the passive tree helps enormously with mana regeneration.
- Leveling: The author suggests taking Ascendance of the Storm and Ascendance of the Mountain during leveling, then respeccing later.
How the Glacial Lance + Cast on Critical combo works
The concept is elegant. Glacial Lance is your main attack – an ice spear that hits in a straight line with an excellent crit ratio. Every critical hit automatically triggers Cast on Critical, which fires a Comet at the target.
Comet deals massive area damage. Since Glacial Lance crits frequently (thanks to Pinpoint Critical and Ice Bite supports), Comets rain down on enemies constantly. This synergy is what allows the build to clear so fast with so little investment.
Living Bomb in the CoC setup adds a layer of damage over time. Energy Retention and Boundless Energy ensure you always have enough mana to keep spamming.
Sacred Flame: the item that changes everything
This unique sceptre costs around 50 Exalts – half the total budget. Why is it worth it? Two main reasons.
First, it grants bonus Spirit. In PoE 2, Spirit determines how many auras and reserved skills you can activate. More Spirit = more active buffs = more damage and survivability.
Second, Sacred Flame converts a portion of your damage to fire. It may seem counterintuitive on a cold build, but it lets you scale across multiple elemental damage types simultaneously. The Heralds (Ice and Thunder) benefit from this diversification.
The defensive system through the passive tree
This build does not stack life or armour. Instead, it exploits synergies in the passive tree to generate evasion and Energy Shield for free.
Subforge Mask grants evasion based on the Energy Shield of your helmet. That is why we look for a helmet with high ES. Spectral Ward does the opposite: it gives max ES based on your body armour evasion. And Bestial Skin doubles body armour evasion.
These three nodes create a loop where body armour evasion generates ES, which generates evasion through the helmet. Add Conservative Casting for mana sustain, and you have a character that holds up without investing in expensive defensive items.
Why Accuracy matters so much
The author emphasizes having a weapon with high Accuracy. It is not just about hitting mobs – in this build, Accuracy directly scales damage through the Amazon ascendancy.
The Penetrate node of the ascendancy converts your Accuracy into elemental penetration. The higher your Accuracy, the more enemy resistances you ignore. It is a hidden damage multiplier.
For ~2 Exalts, you can find a spear with 500+ Accuracy, 7%+ critical strike chance, and elemental damage. This kind of deal is what makes the build viable at 1 Divine.
