Build Overview
The Temporalis Auto Bomber is one of the most spectacular and satisfying builds in Path of Exile 2. This is a Druid Oracle that exploits a devastating synergy between the Choir of the Storm amulet, the Mana Flare gem, and the Oracle Ascendancy to create an infinite proc chain that destroys everything in its path.
The concept is simple but devastatingly effective: thanks to the Oracle’s « Inevitable Crits » passive, every hit that could have been a critical strike but failed is re-rolled until it succeeds. When you hit a target with a crit, Choir of the Storm triggers a Lightning Bolt. That Lightning Bolt can trigger Mana Flare, which can itself crit and fire another Lightning Bolt… and so on until the target is dead. This build truly plays itself.
The gameplay loop comes down to Blinking everywhere with the Temporalis body armour, casting Spark to trigger the chain, and watching everything die instantly. You can even just activate Arctic Armour and let yourself get hit to trigger the mechanic passively. This is pure auto-bombing at its finest.
Build Strengths
- Exceptional clear speed: You Blink through maps without a care, everything dies automatically from the chain procs
- Incredibly satisfying gameplay: Watching the lightning bolts chain and destroy everything is visually impressive and rewarding
- Pinnacle bossing capable: The build can handle the hardest bosses in the game as demonstrated in the video
- Incredible Mobility: The Temporalis body armour combined with Blink lets you blaze through content at insane speed
- Passive gameplay possible: Arctic Armour can trigger the proc mechanic, you can literally just stand there and let the build play itself
Build Weaknesses
- Exorbitant cost: Temporalis jumped from 180 to 700+ divines in just a few days. As Empyrian says, this build is « not for the currency-poor »
- Multiple mandatory uniques: Choir of the Storm, Temporalis, and The Vertex are all required for the build to function properly
- Locked into Druid Oracle: The Oracle Ascendancy with its inevitable crits is essential to how this build works
Gem Setup by Stage
This build offers 1 progression stage from leveling to the final build. Select a stage to see the corresponding gem setup.
Endgame
10 skills • 42 gemmesRecommended Equipment
- Helmet: The Vertex – grants +3 to all skill gems, essential for maximizing damage
- Amulet: Choir of the Storm – the most important item in the build, triggers Lightning Bolt on critical strikes
- Body Armour: Temporalis – build-enabling, allows Blink spam gameplay and massively boosts mobility (310+ divines at the time of the video)
- Weapon: Wand + Shield or Staff depending on preference – Empyrian uses a wand with a « Lasagna shield » that requires level 84
- Rings: Focus on scaling stats (spell damage, crit, lightning damage)
Gameplay Tips
- Basic rotation: Blink into packs, cast Spark, let the amulet do the work. That is literally all there is to it
- Arctic Armour: Keep it active at all times, it can trigger the proc mechanic when you get hit
- Key Keystones: Mind over Matter, Wild Surge, and Incantation are the keystones to prioritize on the Oracle tree
- Bossing: On bosses, position Sigil of Power and maintain pressure with Spark. The chain procs will eventually kill even the most resilient bosses
- Progression: This build requires all key items to function. Before having Temporalis and Choir, the build will not reach its full Potential
The Chain Proc Mechanic
This is the magic that makes this build work. Let me walk you through how everything fits together perfectly.
The Choir of the Storm amulet triggers a Lightning Bolt every time you deal a critical strike. That Lightning Bolt is linked with Mana Flare, a support gem that has a chance to trigger a mana explosion when you hit an enemy. And here is the twist: that Mana Flare explosion can itself deal a critical strike.
When Mana Flare crits, it triggers a new Lightning Bolt from the Choir. That Lightning Bolt can again proc Mana Flare. And so on. The chain continues indefinitely until the target is dead. Against bosses with a large health pool, you will see dozens of lightning bolts chaining within seconds. It is absolutely devastating.
The Oracle Ascendancy and Inevitable Crits
Oracle is the Druid Ascendancy that makes this build possible. The key passive is called « Inevitable Crits » and its effect is simple but overpowered: any hit that could have been a critical strike but failed its crit roll is automatically re-rolled until it succeeds.
In practice, this means every hit that has even the slightest critical strike chance will eventually crit. Combined with Choir of the Storm proccing on crits, you have a guarantee that the Lightning Bolt chain will trigger on every engagement.
Oracle also offers other interesting bonuses such as the ability to allocate passives within the range of keystones without being connected to the tree. Empyrian uses Mind over Matter, Wild Surge, and Incantation as main keystones, allowing him to spec bonus nodes throughout that entire zone.
Budget and Investment
Let’s be clear from the start: this build is reserved for players with a substantial budget. We are not talking about a handful of divines here.
Temporalis, the body armour enabling the Blink spam gameplay, went from 180 divines to over 700 divines in just a few days. By the time Empyrian bought his, they were at 310 divines – and he considers he bought it « one day too late ».
Choir of the Storm is also a highly sought-after and expensive item. The Vertex for the +3 skills adds further to the total budget. Expect several hundred divines minimum to properly assemble this build. As Empyrian himself says, it is « not for the currency-poor ».
