Build Overview
The Ancestral Bear Titan by Dreamcore is a melee build centered around massive screen-wide slams. This build uses the bear transformation with Furious Slam as the primary skill, paired with ultra-fast rage generation through Ferocious Roar for devastating physical damage output.
The build leverages the Titan Ascendancy to maximize area of effect through Hulking Form and Ancestral Empowerment. Every second slam benefits from 60% more damage and 50% additional AoE thanks to Fist of War III, enabling you to permanently stun everything hit by your slams.
A clever weapon swap technique using the unique talisman Amor Mandragora grants 30% permanent skill speed through the Druidic Prowess buff, making gameplay extremely smooth despite the natural delays of transformation skills.
Build Strengths
- Screen-wide slams: The massive AoE lets you clear entire packs in a single slam
- Ultra-smooth gameplay: The focus on AoE and skill speed eliminates the sluggishness of transformation skills
- Permanent stun: Pure physical damage provides a massive bonus to stun buildup
- Excellent for Ritual and Abyss: Enclosed mechanics are trivial thanks to the AoE coverage
- 75% more damage at full rage: Constant rage generation through the war cry keeps the buff active permanently
Build Weaknesses
- DPS sacrificed for comfort: The build prioritizes quality of life over raw damage
- Pure Life build: Not the tankiest option, not recommended for hardcore
- Weapon swap reliance: The swap technique requires a bit of practice to master

Gameplay Tips
- Core rotation: Ferocious Roar (weapon set 2) then Furious Slam (weapon set 1) – ALWAYS in this order
- Freeze buff: Use Maul occasionally on weak mobs to gain the cold damage buff from Bhatair’s Vengeance
- Engagement: Pounce into a pack, then Ferocious Roar and Furious Slam to guarantee the Ancestral Boost on your slam
- Walking Calamity: Keep this skill active at all times – it generates rage and adds fire damage
- Single target: Place Shockwave Totem to detonate the Jagged Ground created by Furious Slam
- Optimal farming: Abyss and Essences are excellent because mobs are instantly stunned by your physical slams
Transformation and Rage Mechanics
This build relies on understanding the transformation mechanics. Furious Slam normally adds 0.4 seconds to the use time when you transform into a bear, plus an additional 0.4 seconds if the bear is not already standing. To avoid these delays, we use Ferocious Roar, which stands the bear up instantly thanks to our massive war cry speed stack.
Rage generation is at the core of this build. A single use of Ferocious Roar always generates at least 38 rage (more if enemies are nearby). With Enraged Warcry I, you can spend 20 rage to bypass the war cry cooldown and spam it up to 4 times per second. This rage then fuels Walking Calamity, which requires « glory » – a resource earned by generating rage while already at full rage.
Weapon Swap Technique
Optimizing this build requires smart use of both weapon sets. Set 2 contains the unique talisman Amor Mandragora, which grants the Druidic Prowess buff (10% skill speed per stack, up to 3 stacks) each time you spend 20 rage. Since Enraged Warcry I in our Ferocious Roar link spends exactly 20 rage, every war cry use grants a stack – guaranteeing 30% skill speed permanently.
Passive tree points are also optimized per weapon set. Set 2 invests heavily in war cry speed and rage generation, while set 1 concentrates all points into damage and area of effect. Since we never deal attack damage with set 2, those points would not be used anyway.
Titan Ascendancy Progression
The Titan Ascendancy is a perfect fit for this slam build. The first two nodes are Colossal Capacity then Hulking Form – the latter provides a massive power spike in Act 3 as it amplifies all increased damage nodes on the tree. Later, take Earthbreaker at the third trial and Ancestral Empowerment last.
Ancestral Empowerment makes every second slam « ancestrally boosted » for 30% more damage and 25% increased AoE. Combined with Fist of War III, which doubles these bonuses, you get 60% more damage and 50% increased AoE on alternating slams – this is what allows Furious Slam to cover the entire screen.
