Build Overview
This Druid build built around
Mana Flare relies on the spell support
Mana Flare, which deals fire damage equal to 25% of current mana on every critical hit from a supported spell, within a base radius of 2 meters. Since this damage is unaffected by spell level, it becomes possible to entirely neglect gem level investment and instead pour everything into maximum mana. The build combines four distinct scaling axes all hooked into mana:
Archmage (up to 800% additional lightning damage at 20,000 mana), the Cultivated Wrath well paired with the notable
notable Arcane Intensity (up to 1800% more damage and 600% additional critical strike chance), plus the base damage of
Mana Flare itself. The result is a single-target
Mana Flare hit reaching close to 15 million damage at 20,000 mana, more than enough to trivialize any boss encounter.
For map clearing, the build relies on
Entangle as the delivery spell for
Mana Flare, backed by a massive stack of increased area of effect on the mapping tree to cover a wide space with every cast. Despite the enormous mana pool on a low-life setup, the build remains surprisingly resilient thanks to the Shaman ascendancy and its elemental damage reductions, allowing the character to survive one-shot sequences that would normally be lethal.
Strengths / Weaknesses
✅ Strengths
- Massive single-target damage: around 15 million damage per
Mana Flare hit at 20,000 mana, reaching up to several billion on the dedicated bossing setup - Very resilient despite low life: the Shaman ascendancy’s elemental adaptations cut elemental shotgun damage by more than half, even allowing the character to tank one-shot sequences such as Arbitrator of Ashes
- No spell level investment required: frees up the full potential of gear and passive tree for mana scaling
- Comfortable map clearing:
Entangle covers about a screen and a half per cast thanks to the area of effect stacking - Passive defense via Arctic Armour: triggers a retaliatory
Mana Flare hit against melee enemies, allowing the character to even AFK through certain content - Chaos resistance is essentially irrelevant at this mana level, no chaos ability in the game can meaningfully dent the pool
❌ Weaknesses
- Very expensive end-game build: gearing requirements are high, notably the unique weapon
Runeseekers Call and the « damage taken from mana before life » craft - Slower than meta speedfarm builds on easy, low-life content
- Reliant on trigger frequency: cooldown speed and mana recovery effects need to be properly optimized to maintain the Mana Flare cadence

8 skills • 40 gemmesRecommended Equipment
- Weapon (unique):
Runeseekers Call — centerpiece of the build, 5 sockets by default (6 if corrupted), each socketed rune’s effect is tripled by its unique affix - Amulet: a dedicated amulet can allow you to « rune-master »
Runeseekers Call to add up to 50% mana regeneration as an implicit; in this specific setup, the equipped amulet is a classic flat/percentage mana rare - Chest: high energy shield, converted into maximum mana via the
keystone Eldritch Battery keystone - Amulet, ring, and chest: stack up to ~53% « damage taken from mana before life » spread across these 3 slots (without the Mind Over Matter keystone) and take advantage of the new mana quality (up to 40%)
- Boots and gloves: prioritize boosted augments in addition to flat mana, percentage mana, and intelligence
- General priority: cap elemental resistances first, then stack as much mana as possible — chaos resistance doesn’t matter at all at this mana level
Gameplay Tips
- Map clearing: cast
Entangle continuously, the area-of-effect stack covers wide and triggers
Mana Flare across the entire affected area - Bossing: switch to
Frost Darts for a fast single-target shot, combined with
Rakiatas Flow which reverses all of the target’s elemental resistances - Mana management: keep an eye on regeneration and the
Arcane Surge effect to never run dry despite the combined cost of
Mana Flare and
Archmage - Priority crafting: follow the written guide on PoE Vault (link in the video description) for the exact list of prefixes/suffixes and augments per slot
- Patch tracking: the Legacy of Aldur Rune socketed in
Runeseekers Call is currently bugged (rune effect not multiplied) — if fixed, the build would gain an additional 5 to 6k max mana and double its damage
Mana Scaling: The Four Damage Axes of the Druid Mana Flare Build
The core of this build relies on
Mana Flare‘s independence from spell level: its damage is fixed at 25% of the character’s current mana, which allows completely ignoring gem level investment. This mechanic opens the way to four scaling axes that stack with maximum mana: the base damage of
Mana Flare, Archmage which converts part of the damage into additional lightning damage (up to 800% at 20,000 mana), and the Cultivated Wrath well combined with the
notable Arcane Intensity notable which adds damage and critical strike chance proportional to maximum mana (up to 1800% damage and 600% critical). Each additional point of mana therefore has a cumulative effect on all four axes simultaneously, which explains the damage explosion between intermediate mana thresholds and the 20,000 mana targeted by this build.
Runeseeker’s Call: The Weapon That Unlocks 20,000 Mana
Runeseekers Call is the item that makes this level of mana possible. This unique weapon has 5 sockets by default (6 once corrupted) and a unique affix that triples the effect of each socketed rune. With six Perfect Mind runes, it alone provides 1620 flat mana and 90% additional maximum mana thanks to the linked modifiers from the Shaman ascendancy. It’s also possible to rune-master the weapon with a dedicated amulet to add up to 50% additional mana regeneration as an implicit. A hunter rune (Legacy of Aldur, renamed Legacy of
Runeseekers Call once socketed) exists to push maximum mana even further, but it currently suffers from a bug that severely limits its usefulness — a fix would grant the build 5 to 6k additional maximum mana and double its damage.
Ascendancy Choice: Shaman and Point Allocation
The Shaman ascendancy is chosen for one specific point:
Wisdom of the Maji, which grants the linked modifiers carried by runes. This is what allows
Runeseekers Call to provide 90% additional maximum mana, a bonus no other ascendancy can obtain, giving Shaman roughly 40% more maximum mana compared to other ascendancies. This choice is paired with a notable that grants extra spirit in exchange for charm slots. For the remaining four ascendancy points, two approaches are possible: at high mana levels on a low-life setup, prioritize the notables that reduce damage taken in the early game and unlock elemental adaptations (cutting elemental shotgun damage by more than half); at more modest mana levels, prioritize the notables that increase spell damage to boost clear speed, even if it means losing access to
Execute III against single targets in favor of an alternative damage support.
Passive Defense: Blasphemy and Arctic Armour
Despite the massive mana stack and a low-life setup, this build’s survival relies on two discreet defensive pillars.
Blasphemy linked to
Temporal Chains slows enemies at range, not so much to avoid incoming damage but to limit the stun and freeze effects that disrupt mana-stacking characters.
Arctic Armour, meanwhile, is supported by its own
Mana Flare setup: at the slightest melee contact, it triggers a retaliatory
Mana Flare that wipes out every enemy within a 3-meter radius, preventing stun-lock chains and even allowing the character to passively tank certain content.
