Restoration Druid, the Group Healer

Restoration Druid is, in vanilla, the endurance healer rather than the raid pillar: Rejuvenation and Regrowth heal over time at a lower mana cost, Swiftmend consumes one of the two effects for an instant heal, and Tranquility remains the only real group heal in the game at this stage. Few big healing spikes, lots of continuous regeneration: it’s a very good choice in five-man dungeons, where it can also shapeshift to tank or add off-damage thanks to the class’s shared toolkit. In PvP, Nature’s Swiftness paired with a big instant spell remains one of the most reliable saves in the whole game.

What Forever Changes in the Restoration Tree

Out of the sixteen talents listed in Forever for this tree, eight are reworked, three are brand new, four stay strictly identical to the vanilla version (the highest count of the Druid’s three trees), and one last one simply changes position in the tree. Gift of the Earthmother and Living Spirit reinforce mana regeneration and the global cooldown on heals, continuing what the tree already did. The real substantive change is Wild Growth: an instant group heal on everyone in range, which Restoration Druid has historically only had since Wrath of the Lich King. Two talents disappear, including Improved Mark of the Wild.
