RestedXP Forever guide: the new dungeon routes, levels 1-30

Five World of Warcraft adventurers charge toward the entrance of a dwarven dungeon, a golden arrow on the ground, under the French title « RestedXP Forever guide des donjons niveaux 1 à 30 »

Article by Kami

The RestedXP Forever guide now has a dungeon route, live in the middle of the WoW Forever beta. It takes your character from level 1 to level 30 with progression built around dungeons, and open-world quests in between. RestedXP announced it in the email sent on October 18 to the guide’s partners: it was one of the most requested features since Forever was announced.

What the RestedXP Forever guide does for dungeons

The Dungeon Guide follows the same logic as the rest of the addon: an arrow, steps, and no need to think about quest order. Here, the route is built around dungeons. It has you pick up the dungeon quests before going in, then handles class quests, the trip back with your hearthstone and training with your instructor along the way.

Nothing to add to your cart: the dungeon route of the RestedXP Forever guide is part of the Forever guides already on sale. If you own the guide, you have the dungeon route. It arrives during the beta rather than after the November 4 launch, which leaves time to test it in real conditions.

The guide arrives after two Blizzard tweaks to the dungeon experience. The October 1 patch halved the experience bonus on dungeon quests added by Forever, then the October 8 patch notes raised creature experience in dungeons by about 20%. Dungeon monsters already paid less than in Classic, and quests made up the difference: going in without them means running the dungeon for a fraction of the experience. To find out at which level each dungeon becomes worth it, our article on leveling through dungeons lists the quests to aim for.

Roadmap on the RestedXP Forever page: Speedrun Guide finished, Dungeon Leveling Guide active, Launch and Beyond coming
Official RestedXP Forever page, October 18, 2026: the dungeon guide moves into its active phase.

The RestedXP Forever page shows what comes next in three stages: Speedrun Guide finished, Dungeon Leveling Guide active, then “Launch & Beyond” marked as coming, with the 35 to 60 routes after launch. Phase 1, wrapped up on October 9, covered routes 1 to 35.

Horde and Alliance routes from level 1 to level 30

In the dungeon guide, each faction has its own list, and they don’t look alike. The table lists the dungeons from the email, with the access level taken from our dungeon pages. We found 51 instances in the beta client, which you can browse on our dungeons and raids page.

Five dungeons on each faction’s route, but not the same ones. The Alliance goes through three dungeons unique to Forever: The Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron and Excavation Site: Wetlands. The Horde goes through only one, Ruins of Lordaeron, which is also the only required dungeon shared by both routes. The options follow the same imbalance: three for the Alliance, just one for the Horde, The Deadmines.

The new dungeons on the route, and the only one everybody meets

Ruins of Lordaeron appears on both routes. The old human capital fell to the Scourge, and its quests exist on both sides of the conflict. For a Horde player, it’s the only real novelty of the path.

The Alliance also discovers the tomb of the ancient dwarf kings under Ironforge, with The Hall of Thanes, then a titan excavation site guarded by automatons in Wetlands. If you want to see Forever’s new content while leveling, the Alliance route is the richest.

Choosing your optional dungeons by hand

For now, optional dungeons can’t be set with a click. First select the Dungeon Guide in the addon, then open Options > AddOns > RestedXP Guides > Guide Routing and scroll down to the Dungeons section. That’s where you turn on or remove the ones you want to add to your route.

RestedXP promises a dedicated configurator, with no date given. The dungeon guide already works, then, but fine-tuning stays manual until it arrives. If you play Alliance, this menu gives you the most room, with three options to pick from.

The official trailer for the Forever guides

RestedXP has also released an official trailer for its Forever guides, written and produced by Farts. “A New Journey Begins | RestedXP Forever Trailer” is published on the RestedXP channel.

Try it for free before you buy

Levels 1 to 20 are free for everyone. The beta stays playable until October 21: you have a few days left to follow the arrow through the first dungeons and judge the route for yourself. To set it up, follow our RestedXP installation tutorial for WoW Forever.

WoW Forever launches on November 4. If the route convinces you, the full guide costs $45 for both factions or $30 for one, updates included. The link below takes off 10% automatically, with no promo code, and the dungeon guide is included in the purchase.

My advice as a player: on the Horde side, think twice before ticking The Deadmines. The entrance is in Westfall, deep in Alliance territory, and the trip costs more than the dungeon pays back if your group isn’t already there. On the Alliance side, same logic: your three options are exactly the three dungeons of the Horde route, in the Barrens, Silverpine Forest and Ashenvale. Keep them if your group already passes through there, otherwise the main route is enough.
