C-TIER | BUILD REAPER HARVEST (@ascensionsidekick) | ASCENSION CoA

Build Reaper Harvest Ascension CoA
Harvest
scythe Reaped Souls life siphon

Reaper in Harvest wields a two-handed scythe as an instrument that reaps Reaped Souls with every strike. The rhythm is simple and grim: build souls swing after swing, then trigger Soul Infusion once the gauge caps — a builder-spender melee loop, dark and rhythmic.

Its signature, Harvester, turns every point of damage dealt into healing: 15% of all damage comes straight back as health. That total self-sufficiency is what defines the spec — a melee fighter that needs nobody else to stay standing.

Signature Spell
Harvester

You now heal yourself equal to 15% of all damage dealt.

Retail Feel

The closest retail analog is Blood Death Knight: your own damage IS your healing, through an AoE cleave-and-leech loop (Harvester's 15%-of-damage heal plus Crimson Thirst echo Death Strike), a resource economy gating your strongest windows (Soul Fragments and Reaped Souls feeding Soul Infusion like banked Bone Shield charges), and a Strength-scaling brawler chassis — the same fantasy Blood DK plays in retail PvP: dive in, keep swinging, out-sustain the burst, and be nearly impossible to solo down. The generate-then-consume rhythm of Soul Fragments also echoes Vengeance Demon Hunter, but Blood DK remains the better full-kit analog since, like Harvest, none of its sustain is an external heal — it's all self-directed toughness, not party support.

Role, tiers & resource
B
Dungeon
No ally-targeted heal in the kit: your role in a group is soaking and holding pressure off the healer with sustained AoE — pull with Crow's Harvest, park Doomrend's anti-heal shield, slow the pack with Harvesting Grounds, and execute below 35% with Slaughter.

ComplexityNormal
You swing a BG scrum by diving the clump: Crow's Harvest damages the whole enemy side while topping your own HP every GCD, and Harvesting Grounds slows the pack in place. In 1vX, Harvester, Crimson Thirst, and the leech baked into your damage convert most of your outgoing damage into incoming healing — but the gap is anti-CC: without Limbo or Jailer's Bargain, a coordinated CC chain neutralizes you before your first hit connects.

Moderate complexity: the base loop (hit things, bank Reaped Souls, trigger Soul Infusion) is easy to follow, but timing Slaughter, Harvest Time, and Doomrend's anti-heal shield optimally means tracking several counters at once.

Leveling Guide

Levels through aggressive AoE (Crow's Harvest, Doomrend) while the Level-10 passive Harvester heals you for 15% of all damage dealt, letting you stand in and face-tank packs solo/duo with no healer; Slaughter cleans up low-health trash fast. In a group it functions as an off-tank/bruiser, holding up through Jailer's Bargain/Limbo/Dominion from the class tree and denying ground with Harvesting Grounds while This Is My Domain and Soul Furnace keep stacking the self-heal engine.

Harvester
Harvester is the 15%-of-damage-dealt self-heal the spec's whole survivability is built around; Harvesting Grounds, This Is My Domain, and Doomrend's absorb shield all feed or amplify it.

Crow's Harvest, Slaughter and Doomrend are all weapon-damage-% two-hand Physical hits that must land and not be dodged (no offhand to cover a miss), Darkrend Scythe's bleed scales with haste, and Harvester's flat 15% lifesteal on all damage means Critical Strike compounds the self-heal on every crit.

Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths
  • Extreme self-sustain baked into every button — Harvester (15% of all damage as healing), Crimson Thirst's stacking leech, and the AoE damage-into-healing of Crow's Harvest mean sustained melee trades trend hard in your favor without a dedicated healing rotation.
  • AoE damage-into-healing turns team fights into free sustain — Crow's Harvest hits the whole cluster and Harvesting Grounds locks them in it, so diving a clustered BG scrum both nukes the enemy group and keeps you topped, letting one player meaningfully swing a fight.
  • Strong execute and anti-heal pressure — Slaughter's sub-35% execute (refunding a Reaped Soul), Hemorrhage's damage boost below 35%, and Doomrend's anti-heal shield make it hard for a low target or a healer to stabilize once you're on them.
Weaknesses
  • No ally-targeted healing anywhere in the kit — despite the sustain, you cannot patch up a duo partner; your value to a partner is pure body-blocking, Harvesting Grounds slows, and Sever interrupts, never a heal.
  • No hard defensive escape or CC-break in the spec line — no blink/vanish/bubble of its own; the closest trinket-analogs are class-kit Essence picks, Limbo (a single cooldown usable even while stunned, feared, or polymorphed) and Jailer's Bargain's fear/sleep/charm-immune absorb shield, so without them a coordinated CC chain (or being kited at range before you close) fully neutralizes the sustain engine.
  • Resource/state gating creates real spin-up time — Soul Infusion (which powers your strongest windows) has to be built off Reaped Souls first, so caught cold at the start of a fight (before Crow's Harvest and Slaughter have banked souls) your damage and healing output are both noticeably weaker than mid-fight.
Skill Floor & Ceiling
Skill Floor
Low

Floor is low — cycling Crow's Harvest/Reap/Doomrend on cooldown already produces strong passive sustain even played reactively.

Skill Ceiling
Very High

Ceiling is meaningfully higher: banking Reaped Souls (from Slaughter and Blood Knight's Doomrend crits) for your strongest windows, keeping Ruin (from Murder/Shudder Scythe) and the Darkrend Scythe bleed rolling, holding Slaughter for the sub-35% execute, and knowing exactly when to spend Harvest Time (and the Blood Frenzy it triggers) in a trade all require tracking a busy stack list (Crimson Thirst, Souls for the Slaughter, Ruin, Extinction) that a lazy rotation ignores.
