Arrows enchanted with Elune's power: sustained arcane-and-fire ranged volleys, the old "Moonbow" school. A celestial archer that keeps a steady rhythm rather than burning everything on one big window.
Increases your haste rating by 8% of your Intellect.
Closest to a ranged Hunter/Elemental Shaman hybrid, with a whisper of Restoration Shaman's damage-that-heals idea. The throughline stays arcane ranged damage that occasionally spills healing onto marked allies through a Moon Priest teammate's synergy, rather than a real heal kit. It's a plant-and-cast spec like a Mage or Priest — your shots are NOT castable on the move by default (that only works while mounted on Huntress Saber), so you lean on the class's control tools instead: Aspect of the Cosmos plays the movement-control role a slowing shot would fill elsewhere. The gap from a real healer: Sentinel's healing is small and entirely incidental to its damage rotation, so it reads as a damage spec whose output occasionally heals, not a primary healer.
Rated 'Normal' complexity: the loop is mostly about feeding Scattered Stars and cashing them in at the right moment — the real difficulty is timing rather than juggling many simultaneous levers.
Solo or duo, it plays as a kiter: Shooting Star opens distance, Aspect of the Cosmos and Universal Power slow anything that closes, and Moon Arrow / your ranged autos seed Scattered Stars that Starfire Shot and Starcall cash in for damage, with Vial of Moonwell Water breaking any CC that slips through.
In groups it's a sustained ranged DPS bringing single-target burst through Starfire Shot (with the Tyrande's line and Lunar Amplification / Trueshot) and AoE cleave through Arrows In The Night / Arrow of the Goddess, plus minor Aspect-based utility from Moonblessed Aspects and Elune's Presence.
- Core loop — Mana Scaling (abilities scale with mana consumed), Aspects (give auto attacks effects/procs).
- Signature (Huntress Training): Increases your haste rating by 8% of your Intellect.
- A real anti-CC valve — Vial of Moonwell Water strips every crowd-control effect, usable even while stunned, and grants 3 seconds of immunity afterward: a valuable class pick for a spec that has to plant to cast.
- Solid slow and kite tools — Aspect of the Cosmos slows everything it hits (deepened by Moon Runner) or, with Cosmic Strides talented, converts that into your own movement speed instead: either way you keep controlling the gap.
- Near-unlimited in-combat mana — almost every attack and spell (the Ishnu-alah refund off Moon Arrow, Aspect of the Huntress off auto-attacks, and Scattered-Star consumption on Starfire Shot / Lunar Lance / Trueshot) refunds mana, so the spec essentially never runs dry mid-fight.
- Healing is incidental, not a real tool — no direct heal in the spec's own kit; what little support exists fires as a side effect of your damage (your shots can incidentally heal an ally marked by a Moon Priest), so nothing reliable to save a partner through a burst window. The class pick Touch of Moonlight adds one real heal cast — and lets Sentinel place its own marks — but it's a single mana-costly button, not a sustain engine.
- Thin hard CC, no ally cleanse, and no interrupt — beyond the class-kit stun line Starshatter, Sentinel cannot remove a debuff from a partner or lock out a cast; for itself, a stun/fear/root no longer has to be ridden out if you buy the class pick Vial of Moonwell Water, which purges all crowd control even while stunned — otherwise its CC-defense stays slow-first, not escape-after.
- No proactive personal damage-reduction cooldown — nothing in the kit reduces damage taken, so once its slows and mobility (Aspect of the Cosmos, Cosmic Strides, Huntress Saber) are on cooldown, positioning is all that's left against a focused burst.
Very easy to pick up. Sustained with few moving parts.
Modest depth beyond the basics. The sustained pattern rewards clean execution more than deep optimization.
