The Geomancer spends Rage to sunder the earth: Nature/Fire seismic strikes backed by heavy stone defenses — an earthshaker that borders on off-tank.
Break the ground, wear the mountain.
Casting Geode Barrage and your Seismic abilities generates stacks of Earthshaping, which empowers some of your abilities and increases your spell haste by 1% for 20 seconds, stacking 15 times.
Closest to a self-sufficient ranged burst-caster with a built-in immunity panic button — think a Fire Mage's ramp-and-crit identity crossed with the CC-proof defense of a Fel-shaped caster. Its survivability is Earth's Embrace: a short-cooldown full physical/spell immunity that heals for spell power every 2 sec and stays usable even while stunned, feared, or polymorphed — its Ice Block / Nether Ward moment that also punches straight through a CC chain. It ramps damage through Earthshaping stacks (like a Fire Mage banking crit/Hot Streak), converts armor penetration into spell power via Crushing the Earth, and layers Volcanic Blast's fire splash off its crits. Unlike a pure glass-cannon caster it carries real disruption — Magma Fissure sends nearby enemies fleeing — plus Golem Form as a second defensive/haste cooldown, but its spec line has no ally heal or cleanse beyond Molten Fervor's raid haste — outward tools like Grove Guardian's healing/cleansing zone or Protective Roar's group heal must be bought from the class kit with Ability Essence — so on its own picks it stays a self-reliant DPS caster rather than any kind of support.
A dual resource (Rage/mana) to juggle, Earthshaping stacks to maintain, and cooldown windows to sync with Earth's Embrace and Golem Form — a rotation that's demanding on management more than raw execution.
Solo/duo: open with Seismic Tremor's DoT then Terrasurge's big nuke+armor-shred, and once Golem Form is up you can cast on the move — huge for kiting and skipping downtime a normal caster would eat, backed by Earthmother's Pendant/Mineralization self-healing.
Group job: sustained single-target nuking (One With The Earth, Geomolding stacking) plus a small party haste buff from Molten Fervor and Magma Fissure for AoE pulls.
- Core loop — Roars and Boons, stacking up to 3.
- Signature (Earthshaping): casting Geode Barrage and your Seismic abilities generates stacks of Earthshaping, which empowers some of your abilities and increases your spell haste by 1% for 20 seconds, stacking 15 times.
- Earth's Embrace — full immunity plus a heal-over-time, usable even while stunned, feared, or polymorphed, a true CC-proof panic button most casters don't get, with Golem Form as a second armor/haste defensive layer.
- A real ranged burst engine — Earthshaping stacks ramp Lithic Lance/Terrasurge while Cataclysm resets the Seismic family and Volcanic Blast adds fire splash off crits, so damage snowballs the longer it channels a window.
- Rare caster utility on a durable chassis — a true interrupt with a school lock (Cave In), a line knockback (Magma Fissure), and a heavy AoE slow (Cracking the Earth), plus the raid spell-haste buff Molten Fervor.
- Dual-resource strain — nearly every hard-hitting nuke (Seismic Tremor, Lithic Lance, Eruption, Magma Fissure, Terrasurge) taxes mana, so a long fight or extended 1vX can run it dry without leaning on One With The Earth's Stoneshard mana return.
- Thin outward support from its own kit — its contributions are buffs like Molten Fervor's raid haste, not healing or cleansing; ally healing or poison/disease cleansing must come from the class kit (Grove Guardian's healing zone also strips a poison and disease, Protective Roar tops up the group's missing health) — those picks cost Ability Essence that competes with damage nodes, and nothing available to it removes a magic effect or a curse.
- Cast-time-dependent burst outside its cooldown windows — Lithic Lance, Geode Barrage, and Eruption are all interruptible and silenceable, so with Earth's Embrace and Golem Form down it can be locked off its ramp and worn out.
Approachable, with a couple of systems to learn. A burst-cooldown spec with few moving parts.
Strong skill expression — optimizing your stack/combo economy.
