Season 5 of Path of Exile 2 is one of the biggest overhauls since the early access launch, and probably the last major patch before the game’s official free-to-play release. To get this new league off to a strong start, here are the Season 5 leveling builds you need to know, with at least one build per class. Each one has been translated, formatted and explained step by step on kami-labs.fr.
In total, 14 builds cover the game’s 8 classes. For each one, you get the complete gear grid with every explicit and implicit line, the passive tree allocated step by step, as well as the skill and support gems. Everything you need to follow any builder in good conditions, from level 1 all the way to endgame.
A French and an English version are available for each build, with a flag at the top of the site to switch entirely to English if you prefer the original item names. You can browse the full catalog from the Path of Exile 2 builds hub. Let’s get into the overview, class by class.

Ranger leveling build Season 5 — destroy the campaign bosses
We start with the Ranger and a now-iconic YouTuber, @Fubgun, a Ranger specialist who delivers very high-quality builds every season. His video covers the entire campaign, and all his explanations, gameplay tips and combos are summarized in the article. Early in the campaign, you play the classic lightning arrow combo, then from level 22-30 you switch to the sniper shot to obliterate the bosses.

RANGER ICE SHOT BUILD
This build has almost no weakness in the campaign. It takes down bosses in just a few attacks, like the act 3 boss that loses 80% of its health in a single charged attack. An ultra-solid start that steamrolls mobs and bosses.

For the Witch, there are already several options, including two by @DeadRabb1t that look alike and are variants of the Contagion Lich. The ED Contagion version works very well throughout the campaign and was updated about a month ago. With the energy shield nerf, the second Plants Abyssal Lich version could shine even more, as it is also more up to date according to its author.

WITCH ED CONTAGION LICH BUILD
You set the whole screen ablaze and apply dots that spread for a formidable map clear. Very strong in single target thanks to the totem that launches projectiles, strong in multi-target and very tanky, from level 1 all the way to endgame.
View the full buildThe second version offered by @DeadRabb1t incorporates the new plant mechanics, which grow and deal damage across the whole map. It’s the build he favored himself, notably because of the new endgame challenges, as he believes it has more potential to handle the much higher damage levels of the final content.

WITCH PLANTS ABYSSAL LICH BUILD
A version designed for the late game that theoretically deals more damage. The plants cover the map and scale toward the most demanding content, ideal if you want a survival- and endgame-oriented Lich.

For the Warrior, @Spud The King offers a build that uses mechanics well known to Path of Exile 2 players. Throughout the first part of the leveling up to act 3, you find earth surge and the breaker. The principle is simple: you stack stun with your mass attacks, then the breaker makes everything explode at once. From act 3 onward, you chain leap, armor break, leap, and the perfect strike is used to kill the bosses.

WARRIOR SHIELD WALL BUILD
A solid variant for the league start with the wall that you detonate a bit later. Bosses fall to the perfect strike or the rolling slam, which requires a bit of timing but remains one of the best options in the campaign.

The Mercenary offers two very different builds. The first, Permafrost Fragmentation played as Tactician by @Spud The King, relies on control and fast clear. The second, the Grenades build by @GuyThatDies, is one of the most powerful in the campaign this season. The Mercenary is more mobile than in the past, with less of a sluggish feeling in its shots, and should have an excellent season.

MERCENARY PERMAFROST FRAGMENTATION BUILD
A Tactician version focused on clear speed, which leverages cold control to progress fast and clean through the campaign. A reliable choice for relaxed leveling all the way to endgame.
View the full buildThe other go-to Mercenary is the Grenades build by @GuyThatDies, who finished the campaign in 3h38. The damage is huge right from the start, even on the bosses that often give beginners trouble. The advantage of grenades is that you stay very mobile and almost never die, since you constantly roll to reload and fire.

MERCENARY GRENADES BUILD
Campaign finished in 3h38, exaggerated damage and total mobility thanks to the roll that reloads and relaunches the shots. No difficulty finishing the campaign even as a beginner, with a complete guide to follow step by step.

For the Monk, @Spud The King offers the One Shot Leveling build. It’s a bit technical, so not necessarily recommended for beginners, but once well mastered it can literally one-shot bosses. The power ramps up progressively, there’s a good setup to build, but once the mechanics are understood you can obliterate the campaign and the bosses. The Monk also unlocked a new melee-oriented ascendancy that promises very interesting content.

MONK ONE SHOT LEVELING BUILD
A technical but formidable build. Once the setup is in place and the mechanics are understood, the DPS on bosses becomes phenomenal to the point of one-shotting them. Reserved for players who enjoy melee and mastery.

The Sorceress already has several options, with three builds standing out. The Chronomancer has always been a bit penalized, but it was buffed in this patch, which renews its appeal. @Gl1tch3d offers a more endgame-oriented version, @Spud The King a classic and well-honed Stormweaver Leveling, and @Tuadh a Cold Chronomancer that’s very visually satisfying for anyone who likes ice builds.

SORCERESS MACHINE GUN CHRONOMANCER BUILD
A more endgame-oriented version that takes advantage of the buffs the Chronomancer received. A high cast rate for a snappy clear, already available to give you an idea of the class’s potential.

SORCERESS STORMWEAVER LEVELING BUILD
A classic build but very polished over time, more powerful than the older versions. Lots of damage that unfolds across the campaign and the bosses, with an effective Spark follow-up known for several seasons.

SORCERESS COLD CHRONOMANCER BUILD
Not the most powerful build of the day, but one of the most interesting for control. Mines, walls of ice and chained explosions freeze the boss then take it down. Covered from level 1 up to T15 maps, with some of the best ice effects ever seen in an ARPG.

The Huntress is probably the class that received the most posted builds this past week. Two of them really stand out. The Ice-Tipped Twisters build by @GuyThatDies, visually incredible, freezes the entire map, and according to the author it’s the build that deals the most damage seen so far. The Oil Barrage build by @Peuget2 was buffed in the latest patch and tears through both the campaign and the mapping.

HUNTRESS ICE-TIPPED TWISTERS BUILD
Probably the most powerful league starter ever seen. The tornadoes freeze the entire map and bounce toward the boss, especially in enclosed rooms where it stands no chance. Also possible as a Monk according to the author.

HUNTRESS OIL BARRAGE BUILD
Buffed in the latest patch, this build played as Amazon deals huge damage on bosses from level 62 in mapping. It works just as well in the campaign as in leveling, with every step detailed.

For the Druid, two builds have been offered so far. The Bonestorm Oracle Leveling by @Spud The King relies on very good boss damage, charging bones for a big burst that synergizes very well with the Oracle. For those who want to play transformation, the Wyvern Rend by @GuyThatDies sweeps through the campaign with a very fast clear. The Druid was added recently and remains a very effective class for leveling.

DRUID BONESTORM ORACLE BUILD
You charge bones then unleash a big damage burst that synergizes perfectly with the Oracle. Very good on bosses and strong in the campaign, an effective choice to start the Druid.

DRUID WYVERN REND BUILD
For those who love transformation. The Wyvern form sweeps through the campaign and clears very, very fast all the way to mapping. Good in single target as well as multi-target, easy to pick up and not complicated.

For a fast, hassle-free league start, the Grenades build by @GuyThatDies (campaign in 3h38), Stormweaver by @Spud The King or Oil Barrage by @Peuget2 are safe bets. If you’re after pure bossing, the Ice Shot by @Fubgun and the One Shot Leveling Monk by @Spud The King take down bosses. For clear speed, the Wyvern Rend by @GuyThatDies and the Machine Gun Chronomancer by @Gl1tch3d shine. On the control and cold side, the Cold Chronomancer by @Tuadh remains the most visually satisfying option, and for survival the Plants Abyssal Lich by @DeadRabb1t holds up perfectly.
All these Season 5 leveling builds are available with their gear grid, their step-by-step passive tree and their gems on the Path of Exile 2 builds hub, and you can find the whole section on the Path of Exile 2 page. This is just the beginning, since more than 100 builds are planned throughout the season on kami-labs.fr.
