Thirty minutes and thirty-nine seconds: that is the length of the « Launch Overview » presentation that the World of Warcraft channel posted on November 3, 2026, at 6 pm Paris time. It had passed 143,000 views by that evening. In it, Blizzard walks through all the content of WoW Forever available at opening, in the night of November 4 to 5 at midnight Paris time, then what arrives on December 9.
This guide to the content of WoW Forever follows the video block by block, with the official names used by the client and our tooltips on the spells and talents it cites. Each block fits in a few lines and points to the article or tool on the site that covers it in depth. The presentation is promotional by nature: anything it only offers as a mood (« a late-game leveling zone », for example) stays a mood here, with no invented number.
Three new zones: Riverglades, Mount Hyjal and Zephras Isle
The video opens on the map. Riverglades is a frontier of the Eastern Kingdoms, east of Redridge and the Burning Steppes: orcs pushed back by the humans built a makeshift camp there in crocolisk-infested swamps, next to murlocs, goblins who arm everyone, and Krol’dor Stronghold, an ogre city. Blizzard’s message is that no quest closes this conflict, you can only steer it.
| Zone | What the video shows | Read on the site |
|---|---|---|
| Riverglades | Eastern Kingdoms frontier, with orcs, humans, murlocs and goblins in an unstable balance; Krol’dor Stronghold at the edge | The 54 maps compared to Classic |
| Mount Hyjal | Nordrassil and its scars, a druidic cult at the summit, a furbolg village divided against itself; presented as a late leveling zone | Hyjal Summit page |
| Zephras Isle | Floating city of the highborne exiled from Eldre’Thalas, whose protective wind spirits have vanished | WoW Forever racial abilities |
Table by the editorial team, based on the official « Launch Overview » presentation, Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (1:05 to 3:52).
In northern Kalimdor, Mount Hyjal carries the world tree Nordrassil above the scars of one of Azeroth’s greatest victories. Blizzard calls it a « late game leveling zone » and gives no level or quest count in the video. Zephras Isle, finally, floats in the clouds: its inhabitants must come back down to look for help. Quest counts and level ranges have circulated since the BlizzCon panel, which our BlizzCon article summarizes: more than 150 quests for levels 30 to 40 in Riverglades, levels 1 to 12 on Zephras Isle.
The Skyborne and their two camps
The Skyborne are the new race of WoW Forever. Exiled from Eldre’Thalas, they lived beside wind spirits that no longer answer. Each player picks a side according to how they plan to save the island, and the video presents two sects, each aligned with a faction.
| Sect | Faction | Exclusive class | Bonus described in the video |
|---|---|---|---|
| High Order | Alliance, with the Kirin Tor | Mage | Faster health and mana regeneration near ley lines |
| Windshapers | Horde, with the Earthen Ring | Shaman | Speed boost near an elemental spirit |
Table by the editorial team, based on « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (3:52 to 6:05). Both camps also play warrior, hunter, rogue and druid.
The names of the two sects come from the launch notes of November 2, which we detail in our article on the November 2 patch. To compare each people’s racial abilities, the WoW Forever races page puts them side by side. The Skyborne come with the heroic pack, as our edition comparison explains.
Six new race and class combinations
« A bigger world brings broader choices », the narration says in essence, and the list follows. The dwarf becomes a shaman on the Alliance side, the Forsaken becomes a paladin on the Horde side, the human picks up the hunter’s bow, the gnome puts on priest robes, the troll signs the warlock’s pact and the orc opens up to the arcana of the mage.
| Race | New class | Faction |
|---|---|---|
| Dwarf | Shaman | Alliance |
| Forsaken | Paladin | Horde |
| Human | Hunter | Alliance |
| Gnome | Priest | Alliance |
| Troll | Warlock | Horde |
| Orc | Mage | Horde |
Combinations cited in « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (6:05 to 7:09).
The Forsaken paladin even has its own official short story: we covered « Unbowed », published by Blizzard on October 26. The other combinations can be tested in the talent calculator.
What the feral druid, hunter, paladin and rogue gain
The video does not run through all nine classes. It shows four, and stresses one principle: no specialization should be the only answer to the hardest fights. The table sums up what it cites.
| Class | What the video cites |
|---|---|
| Feral druid | to keep speed in animal form, indoors included; to leap behind the target; to convert unused mana into energy |
| Hunter | Pets benefit from the hunter’s armor and gain abilities of their own: fox, gorilla (), hyena, wolf; for Beast Mastery |
| Paladin | , on the protection side, for retribution, , and on the holy side |
| Rogue | without breaking stealth, axes at last, in combat, in assassination, and in subtlety |
Table by the editorial team, based on « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (7:00 to 13:45). Hover a spell to read its tooltip.
The paladin gets the most screen time, between 9:10 and 11:24, from the burst of Holy Strike to Judgement cast without losing your seals. Blizzard has already detailed the class in its Deep Dive, which our article on the paladin under the microscope completes. For the rogue, the video describes talents that the November 2 notes then reworked: the patch announces a complete overhaul of the three trees, recorded line by line in our patch article. Always check a talent in the Grimoire before relying on it.
Gear: the content of WoW Forever bets on finer bonuses
Loot gains nuance. Caster weapons can carry precise damage or healing bonuses, and a healer also sees damage grow with their weapon, to level up solo. Critical strikes are simplified: a single critical strike bonus now applies to spells, melee and ranged, instead of one bonus per attack type.
| Novelty | What the video says |
|---|---|
| Tailored bonuses | Caster weapons can give targeted damage or healing |
| Critical strikes | One bonus for spells, melee and ranged |
| Parry and dodge | Some items reduce the chance of being parried or dodged |
| Creature types | Some items raise your effectiveness against one monster type or in a specific place |
| Trinkets | Effects that change your playstyle or give an edge in a specific case |
Table by the editorial team, based on « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (13:47 to 15:40).
The underlying advice is not to judge an item by the task at hand: the trinket that stuns one creature type has no immediate use, but it will serve the day that monster crosses your path. Our tools already sort this choice: the BiS List, the best trinkets and the sets page.
Professions: 600 new recipes
Every hero can cook, heal and fish, then picks two primary professions. Blizzard announces more than 600 new recipes. Early in the journey, when upgrades are scarce, a bit of elbow grease beats killing the same monster dozens of times. Later, professions unlock tools for dungeons and raids, such as a holy-damage grenade or, for the blacksmith, leggings and a helm designed for healers.
| To consult | Content |
|---|---|
| Profession bonuses | What each profession brings to the character |
| Alchemy guide | Example of a complete guide, one per profession |
| Profession by class | Our picks based on the BiS List |
Site pages linked to the « Professions » block of « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (15:43 to 17:26).
Campsites: a campfire that hands out bonuses
WoW Forever has no automatic group finder, so Blizzard bets on the campsite, heir to the simple cooking fire. You set up an interactive site whose bonuses grow with the number of players present: vendors, repairs, profession workshops, and above all buffs for everyone who gathers there.
| Profession | What it adds to the campsite |
|---|---|
| Blacksmithing | A sharpening wheel that raises the attack power of an ally’s weapon |
| Tailoring | A banner that raises spirit around it |
| Herbalism | A calming incense that raises intellect |
| Blueprints to find | A full alchemy lab, a tanning rack for leatherworking, more workshops |
Examples cited in « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (19:17 to 21:00). You get started by studying your professions or by finding a camping specialist outside the major cities.
Legacy points: what the account keeps
In the content of WoW Forever, legacy points reward your accomplishments and accumulate without limit. The first ones come from leveling, and those earned this way unlock on every class you play, hence the advice not to hesitate to create a new character. Others come from professions, upgraded dungeon quests and raids. They open two kinds of rewards: cosmetics and toys depending on your total points (a spectral bear cub at one threshold, its mount at another), then a tree spent per character, split into three tracks, Professions, Adventure and Progression.
Chart by the editorial team: the 65 legacy challenges known at launch, based on the Legacy System page of the Warcraft Wiki. The video itself gives no numbers.
A character can only spend 16 of these 65 points: our article « Two alts for 16 legacy points » recounts the fastest plan. The Legacy tree page lists every challenge and works as a calculator.
PvP: the Darkspear Islands, 15 versus 15
The newest battleground of the content of WoW Forever takes place off the coast of Kalimdor. It is called the Darkspear Islands and pits 15 players per side against each other. You first take the capture points in the middle of the island, then contest a flag and bring it back to a point you control. Blizzard advises handing the flag to the fastest member of the team and protecting them.
| Side | Where to sign up |
|---|---|
| Horde | Darkspear Raiders outpost, north of Ratchet in the Barrens |
| Alliance | Theramore Expeditionary Force camp, south of Northwatch Hold |
Table by the editorial team, based on « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (21:02 to 22:30).
The Darkspear Islands page gives the entry levels recorded in beta. The Honor and rank system is explained in our PvP article.
Three dungeons: a prison, a furbolg lair and a titan facility
The video insists on coordination. Placing a polymorph or a root at the right moment separates a clean pull from a dead party, and threat (the internal tally of whom each monster judges worth attacking) must stay on the sturdiest member of the group. Three dungeons are shown.
| Dungeon | What the video shows |
|---|---|
| Alcaz Island Prison | Former military site off Dustwallow Marsh, nagas against the Defias, keys held by a Defias officer |
| Blackmaw Hold | Sane furbolgs asking for help, a dungeon with several routes: rituals that strengthen patrols, a bear eaten by corruption that spits lava |
| Shaper’s Terrace | Titan facility in Un’Goro Crater overrun by predators, power crystals to fuel, a crimson devilsaur |
Table by the editorial team, based on « Launch Overview », Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (22:32 to 26:45). In the automatic subtitles, « Blackmaw » becomes « Blackmoor »: we keep the name used on the site’s page.
The site’s pages give the announced levels for each: 48 to 53, 55 to 60 and 58 to 60. The rest of the content of WoW Forever in dungeons lives on the WoW Forever dungeons and raids page, and our dungeon leveling article says at what level to go.
Three raids on December 9
For many players, raids are the culmination, in 10, 20 or even 40-player versions. The video ends by announcing their opening on December 9.
| Raid | Players | What the video shows |
|---|---|---|
| Barrow Deeps | 10 | Night elf caverns under Moonglade, several climates, a horned beast under stalactites, a fungal path, a giant spider |
| Hyjal Summit | 20 | Rituals draining wild gods, a mist where a deceptive monstrosity lurks |
| Onyxia’s Lair | 40 | Named in the date announcement, no detail |
Table by the editorial team. « Launch Overview » video, Blizzard, November 3, 2026 (26:58 to 29:30); the 20 and 40-player sizes come from the official end-of-beta podcast.
The first two raids are new, and they carry most of the content of WoW Forever for December. The end-of-beta podcast gives their sizes and Blizzard’s commitment to offer content for 10 and 20 players patch after patch, as our podcast summary details. What the PAX Australia map suggests for the future is read separately in our article on the game’s future.
Tier tokens and tier piece quests
Raid bosses drop tier tokens. Each token opens a quest that ends with a tier piece, one of the best items for each class. Blizzard warns that you will not finish it alone, like dungeons and raids: friends count. The Hyjal Summit tier outfits leaked before the beta, and our article lists them for all nine classes. The presentation of the content of WoW Forever closes on the opening date, November 4.
