This Ascension PvP tier list ranks the eight best Conquest of Azeroth specs for arena and battleground / open world. The ranking is based on the ratings established by Ascension Sidekick across all 70 specs in the game. One important note: the top four spots share the exact same rating, S in arena and S in battleground. Their order below comes from a technical tiebreak, not a hierarchy of power: rank 1 isn’t ‘better’ than rank 4. The same logic applies to ranks 5 and 6 (A in arena, S in battleground), then to ranks 7 and 8 (A across the board).

1. Felsworn Tyrant — the tank you can’t kill

2. Tinker Mechanics — turrets that never let go

It then alternates between ranged shots and Mechsuit, a temporary transformation that unlocks a new spell bar and boosts damage and armor. Cultist Corruption builds up Insanity with its offensive spells, then spends it on devastating finishers like Obliteration Beam. Psychic Suppression is a channeled stun that locks down a target while amplifying the damage it takes. Embrace the Void, meanwhile, grants total immunity to death for several seconds. Kami ranks it at the top of his list for how close it feels to a Shadow Priest: dots, crowd control, and sustained burning damage. Arena rating S, battleground rating S.

4. Primalist Wildwalker — the unkillable brawler

Fourth in this Ascension PvP tier list, Primalist Wildwalker is a melee brawler backed by a tamed beast. It chains Totemic Smash and Primal Shred to bleed its targets while Rylak’s Bite sticks it to its prey across two charges. Kami compares it to a Beast Mastery Hunter played in melee. Felsworn Infernal is a ranged caster that builds Felfury with Fel Fireball. It then spends that resource on Ruin, a nuke that ignores absorption shields. Its Inner Demon window boosts several spells at once, and its summoned Infernal clears out an entire area the moment it appears. 6. Primalist Grovekeeper — healing through melee strikes

Primalist Grovekeeper heals while fighting in melee. Hammer of Life turns every weapon strike into an area heal on nearby allies while also dealing damage to enemies in range. Sacred Grove is a massive instant heal followed by a zone that keeps regenerating health, Rage, and mana for several seconds. Kami ranks it among supports with ‘very good ratings,’ thanks to this hybrid melee-healer profile. It’s one of the rare healers in this Ascension PvP tier list that plays in melee. Arena rating A, battleground rating S.

Easy to pick up, with a more limited skill ceiling: the profile stays simple to execute once you understand the melee-healing loop. The closest retail equivalent is Mistweaver Monk in Fistweaving mode. For players who want to heal without standing still at range, striking directly in melee instead.

7. Tinker Invention — the mechanical-beacon shaman

Tinker Invention drops ground beacons (Restorative Beacon, ZIGGI-6K) that work almost like healing totems. Its instant Zap! spell delivers a guaranteed critical ranged heal to allies carrying Nanobots. Build: Noise Box also grants it a real interrupt. Kami confirms he played it a lot in PvP: ‘very, very mobile, pretty annoying to kill, and it hits really hard.’ Arena rating A, battleground rating A.

Moderate to pick up, with a huge skill ceiling: juggling beacon charges and the mana recharge station takes practice. You also need to master the overload windows to get the most out of it. The retail equivalent is Restoration Shaman, and that’s exactly the feeling Kami describes in the video. For players who prefer ground-placed area healing over pure targeted healing.

8. Pyromancer Flameweaving — healing and burning in one motion

The last profile in this Ascension PvP tier list, Pyromancer Flameweaving heals and deals damage with the same spell. Cleansing Flames is a frontal cone that heals allies and burns aligned enemies in a single cast. Spirit of the Phoenix automatically transforms it instead of letting it die, once every ten minutes. Kami encountered it in dungeons and rates it ‘extremely strong,’ never running out of mana. Arena rating A, battleground rating A.

Ascension PvP tier list: which build to choose for your playstyle

This Ascension PvP tier list covers all five roles in the game, so your choice mostly comes down to what you enjoy playing. For an unkillable tank, Felsworn Tyrant remains the reference. On the healing side, Primalist Grovekeeper is a great fit if you want to heal in melee. Tinker Invention and Pyromancer Flameweaving both play at range, with very different mechanics from one another. For melee DPS, Primalist Wildwalker is the most straightforward pick. For ranged DPS, three S-Tier profiles compete for the spot. Tinker Mechanics leans on turrets and mobility, while Cultist Corruption leans on the Shadow Priest playstyle. Felsworn Infernal, meanwhile, leans on pure AoE burst.
